Backwater sloughs of the Columbia River that typically is abounding with birds and other wildlife including deer and muskrats, but also includes ticks and mosquitoes- which can be fierce if you hit it during the wrong time of year and/or the wrong year- since their numbers seem to fluctuate. But if Wenatchee gets enough snow you can even cross country ski there- guaranteed no mosquitoes then.
Limited harassment from law enforcement makes the local homeless population friendly and respectful. Its really nice to be greeted with smiles on the loop trail from ppl with joy and awe rather than scowling and frowns of disgust.
I didnt even know abt this area theres a bald eagles nest you can clearly see.
Park was vibrant with pheasant, deer, screaming eagle, crows and a variety of small birds in chorus.
Just a wonderful place to be.
