A wonderful and relatively quick little hike with a rewarding view! Be cautious if you bring small children or are otherwise not very sure-footed as there are sections of the trail to the peak that have fairly deep cracks down their center. As well as areas closer to the peak with very low traction, all part of the fun though!
Its hard with kids, this isnt kid friendly at all. Maybe with a stroller but even though, you have to be extremely good at pushing the stroller up hill. Theres a lot of loose gravel that makes it nearly impossible to not fall in your butt. This place is perfect for a late hiking date night and for people without kids.
Plenty of well kept trails for any difficulty you want to get to the top. Everybody should check this out at least once.
We love hiking here because there are so many different levels of hiking and so many trails
The entire trail network in and around Wenatchee and this part of the state is awesome. Saddle Rock Trail is one of my favorites and is almost always the first trail I take out-of-town guests on. Grades are a moderate challenge in places but is generally easy. There is no shade so definitely wear sun screen and bring lots of water. The views from the top will be well worth the effort.
Brought my bike from out of town, huge mistake. Luckily a hiker told me to stop and head to sage hill. Really cool trail though and was a bit disappointed to not get up to the rocks.
Great view, nice hike but pretty steep terrain in some parts
Great conditioner hike. Nice parking area with a couple of vault toilets.
Fun hike and got a free tank of gas for my electric car.
Quite a beautiful hike. Sadly I couldnt make it to the top, I made it about halfway up before my legs started to give. But that doesnt mean I had a bad time, quite the contrary. In fact it was very entertaining.
Plenty of parking with access to a network of trails. Can be pretty busy on the weekends
Nice hike for beginners and families with children. I even brought my 14 year old dog, even though we had to carry him half way up (we have a dog backpack).
Beautiful views accompanied by a great hike with family and friends its unforgettable
Amazing view! Well worth the hike!
Amazing views, amazing trail system! So much to explore.
Good hike, but has some steep sections.
Great place to go on a medium hike! Endless mountains behind. And one important thing, there are Cougar prints back behind the top so stay safe!
It was beautiful until it started snowing and the trail turned into a slick mess. took twice as long to get down because we were sliding the whole way. Awesome hike most of the time.
This place is amazing! It’s got all the stuff any hiker would want! It’s got amazing views and a lot of rocks to climb!I really recommend coming here!
This is a nice place to hike. Steep rise gives heart a good workout. Dont go when its raining as trail turns to slick mud
Intense hike but great view at the top
We loved this hike. Some steep places but the view is to die for. I also hear there is a swing at the top if you go to the left by 4 trees.
Great trail! This trail offers unparalleled views of the Colombia river and Wenatchee on one side and snow capped mountains on the other side. All while standing in the middle of the desert. Although this hike is only about 2.2 miles round trip, parts of this hike are tricky and it is useful to have hiking shoes with proper grip. I did not have proper shoes on and actually lost my footing a few times. Parts of this trail could definitely use some maintenance. However, the ascent up is quite rewarding for the views. This hike was a good workout, but not too hard I.e. I saw plenty of children on the hike. I would love to go on this hike again if I am in the area again.P.s. pet lovers, note that this trail is dog friendly :)
Beautiful but it is a heavily trafficked pack hike. The parking lot was full. Short with some elevation gain. I would reccomend if you are visiting Wenatchee.
One of my favorite hikes! As an added plus all of additions are complete. There is plenty of parking, a restroom and the trail is clear! Beautiful day for a hike!
Fantastic views and wildflowers in spring. Please stay on trail though since there is so much foot traffic and erosion, and the community has done so much work to protect the area and restore eroding sections as well as putting in a new parking area and restrooms. Much more of it is handicap accessible, though even for an able bodied person its quite a steep climb.
Very steep, very pretty
Nice covered area. Hike to Dry Gulch or Saddle Rock. Parking area.
Short but a bit of steep hike with wonderful views. Worthy stop to see. Trails are maintained well.
Local trails with a variety of terrain and distances and open year round.
Not for the physically challenged....Some parts are very steep..If stairs are not your thing then I dont recommend it..Children and healthy people LOVE it..My family WILL return, however I need some training first.
It would have been a great walk if only pet owners clean up after their pets waste.
This is probably the best hike in Wenatchee!
Beautiful views. Trails range from easy to challenging.
Fantastic hike I took with friends when Saddle Rock trail was closed for maintenance
Hiked this trail a lot while I lived in the valley. It was awesome to see the upgrades. Beautiful hike thats well worth the effort.
Covered picnic area, well groomed trails, bathrooms, nice parking lot, educational bulletin boards educate the hiker. One of the best trails to reward the hiker with a terrific view of the Wenatchee Valley. Trail for families to enjoy together.
Close to home beautiful view and wild elephants roaming
Great, so many options for trails. Easy to summit, see lizards, and so close to the city.
Great hike. Super steep and definitely a great workout.
A fantastic training hike with excellent views of Wenatchee!
We love this in town hiking area. Many trails to hike. Start at the back side near the RAC or at the new parking lot out front. Good for all ages, a little steep but we took our 4 children up when they were all in grade school, and all did well. Take water and go in the morning. Have seen snakes, but just go around them
Such a great trail however you guessed it... Eric Clark couldn’t make it to he top. He stopped like 300ft from the trailhead and complained of a side cramp. I think he was “carbo-loading” the night before or something. He tried really hard but was wearing flip-flops.
I am just amazed everytime I decide to go on a hike around Wenatchee valley. The view is breath taking.
We made it!! Beautiful!!
We didnt go up to Saddlerock, but enjoyed some of the nearby trails. Met a few horses and their riders along the way. Parking lot is great addition.
Its close to town
Ill admit it. Im out of shape. Still I have drive. I made it along with my 4 year old son and 7 year old daughter. The trail was a bit rugged but clearly a road. Large fissures are all along the way. In pictures I look like Im dying but I was quite proud of myself. There were many people older than me doing a lot less sweating. If your kids dont mind, dont go. Its a bit treacherous near the top as of 04/20/17. Great views at the top, bring your camera. P.S. there are lots of exciting looking trails throughout the area. I plan to go back with the kids. Make a day of it. So nice. Bring a lunch. Water. Windbreaker. You could be both hot and cold on same trip. Something light. Finally shoes with traction. Going late? A head lamp or flashlight. Have fun!
Nice place lot of traffic everyone is very friendly we brought our RC Rock Crawlers to go with us on our hike had a blast
Awesome must do short hike
Great hiking spot
Great place to hike. Once youre at the top you can see forever
Watch out for rattlesnakes! The hike is well worth the views once you get up there, you wont want to come down!
Good for the heart amazing place
Always a fun hike and workout. Multiple trailheads to keep you coming back.
Nice simple hike. Might be a little steep at some places. There is absolutely no shelter or shade anywhere so beware. It could get really warm.
Hike, run ... For montain biker too but dont see to many, stay away from short cut .
It is just the best hiking trail ever me and my family love it here and hope you can love it like we do.
Hot hike, but beautiful and stunning views of Wenatchee!
Great hike. About a mile up to the ridge. It is a pretty steep hike, but the views are worth it.
My favorite hiking spot
Its challenging but the view is worth it.
Nice convenient place to take a hike or jog. Very close to wenatchee. Doggy water station and bathrooms at the parking area. A lot of trails for a variety of hikes
Awesome relaxing hike with a great view. Theres a secret swing that overlooks north part of Wenatchee if you continue up the trail for a little longer! My brother in law has ran up this trail and I want to do it one day as well. Fastest time up so far is 30 minutes
Nice trail. Parts are a bit on the steep side, plus there are a few wash outs to deal with. Fun hike with lots to see.
So fun hiking
Outstanding views, variety of trails, clean, lots of parking.
Saddle rock is one of the first trails that I ever did when I moved to Wenatchee. Really great car park with water, restrooms and just a nice place to be.The trail itself is a little challenging to those (me) who ate not athletic at the moment but it’s a great start!Once you reach the top the views are amazing of east Wenatchee and Wenatchee. Highly recommend for cyclists and hikers as there are plenty of trails to choose from!
Healthy, Family Fun. Wenatchee has done a nice job of improving access and usability.
Great place to hike for all ages.
I suggest water, great place wish they had a better map of all the trails, they go on for days
Great hike Great views
Really good place to work out and hike always come here to enjoy the veiw and see the mountains that were one blown up by tnt for gold. There is also a swing in one of the mountains always a challenge to go and reach it make sure you follow the trail or else you might get lost or confront a cougar if you go alone but thats only if you leave the trail and your by yourself.
Since the recent construction, I see zero negatives:) the worst thing any person will face hiking Saddle Rock will be anxiety. Be strong:)
Beautiful place
Love this hike
Awesome place to hike or run
Short but steep trail with awesome views of Wenatchee! Great warm up trail prior to the main hiking season :) its also not that far of a drive.
Good trails
Great access to great views of the valley. Very well done.
Saddle Rock is my go to hike for a quick cardio workout. Conditions are good now.
So blessed to have this in out backyard.
Worth getting up early to see the sunrise
Fantastic short hike with views that are well worth the work! Parking can be messy at peak hiking hours, but its a nice hike for any time of the day. Trail is navigable, but currently in a bit of disrepair; just watch out for the small canyons eroded out of the trail.
Beautiful hike on a beautiful day!
Great hiking spot. As easy or hard as you make it.
Gorgeous, stunning
Beautiful scenery
Great trail to take dogs on
Great beginners hike offering fantastic views of Wenatchee. The parking lot can get crowded at times, so its better to come earlier or later in the day in order to get a good spot.
It is a nice mountain.
Great hike. Nice new parking area and bathroom added.
You walk until you stop or drop with good parking.
A great family friendly hike. The new trailhead offers plenty of parking, bathrooms, and a station to fill your water bottle.
Cool mountain.
