Any historical building that is free to see is 5 stars in my book. If you’re looking for the shortest walk, you’ll need to take the road to the science center. The gate is often closed but you can park along the side and walk up easily enough. Once at the meadow, a well marked left takes you to the cabin. I appreciated that one could go inside, really see the small tiny space people used to live in our here. Gave me such an appreciation for the comfortable lives we live today. Don’t miss going all the way to the top of the knoll - a great view for an easy hike.
With all of our modern conveniences, its hard to imagine raising three boys in this seemingly confined and primitive space.
Great historical cabin with a wonderful front porch, for plenty of awesome photo opportunities
Such a neat preservation of history.
Rustic and beautiful... Old.
Took a quick hike near sunset. Turn out to be worth the risk of hiking at night. The road isnt to steep and the trail the cabin is quick.
Great hike to a neat historic cabin
Its a tiny cabin in a meadow. Nothing super special. Quite a hike in from the gate.
Beautiful place in the mountains.
Its okay. Not the original cabin. The hike to the place is great.
Easy hike to reach this historical cabin.
Great hike. Easy. Open road. Nice views from the research center.
