Nice overlook. Somewhat overgrown so the view isnt as pretty as it used to be.

This was one of the best views looking west towards George Washington and Jefferson National Forest. The trees are not right in front of you and it is slightly elevated area.

The best place to see the vslley and the mountains

I am fascinated by the prospects of looking up into the night sky and seeing a thick blanket of celestial objects in the way our ancestors experienced not more than a century ago. But Edison and Tesla (not the car company) saw to the end of that in my region of sky.I am talking about the light pollution from our densely packed urban areas that block out all but a few stars and of course the moon.There is an app - The Light Pollution Map, that shows where light pollution is heaviest and areas where it is not.This overlook falls on the border where to the south and east there is low to moderate light pollution but....there is a huge swath of sky visible, clear from neighboring mountains and trees overhead where I am sure on a dark and clear night there is a sight to behold.Unfortunate I am here on a cloudy day and will not have the fortune to see if my theory is true.I encourage everyone to look up “Dark Skies” where you will find many links to actual spaces where you can go to see this phenomenon yourself - many do.

So beautiful! Worth hiking the Turk Mountain Summit Trail. Beautiful rocky out crop at the top, views of both sides of mountain!

Beautiful scenery

Turk Mountain Overlook is a great place the see more than a 180 Long Range View with some mountains up close. The skyline is good about the pullovers most of them are off the road but still people like to zoom in and out of them so be careful especially with little ones. This Overlook is located at milepost marker 93. 5 and is at a elevation level of 2715 ft. I feel this is a must stop to get some great shots.

I mean LOOK at it, its beautiful. I personally did not feel is was very crowded.

Think how our ancestors walked these hills, valleys & mountains..to settle. I would have settled on the 1st mountain, lol.Such pure determination, oh & no wonder why they made moonshine......
