Quiet and peaceful. Great place to take a meditative walk by yourself, as a couple, as a family or with your dog. They have beautiful plants and have exhibits at times. The latest is a sculpture exhibit.

I always think of Wayne as being a sprawling suburb surrounded by a lot of North Jersey highways. How surprising to find this beautiful area of greenery within its borders. What I love the most about Laurelwood Arboretum is the various paths one can take to just wander an afternoon away. Just a great place to de-stress.

What a beautiful place to go and unwind and get in touch with nature a bit. Beautiful maintained trails. Right now since Ive been going Ive been seeing a lot more deer. Be respectful! Beautiful plants. Please make sure if you go to clean up after yourself. Been finding some gloves and masks on the trails. Use a trash can. :)For more pictures follow my Instagram: rahsphotos

If I had to pick my “happy place”, this would be it. For being in a large suburban town, it feels so calm, relaxing, and tranquil. It is very well maintained and beautifully landscaped. I’m very thankful for having this arboretum so close to where I live. It’s a hidden gem, and for as wonderful as it is, it’s never really too crowded. I hope it stays that way so that I can continue to enjoy coming here.

Great park to walk around. It’s an arboretum so it’s got plenty of trees offering shades and it feels like walking in a forest. But being an arboretum means it’s well maintained and clean. The volunteers here does a great job keeping this place nice!

This is a hidden jewel in Wayne. The various plants are beautiful and intriguing, some of the trees I saw here I have never seen at other arboretums, such as Frelinghuysen in Morristown.I also appreciate the sculptures scattered around the facility. I really like interesting sculpture and think Laurelwood did a good job selecting pieces or art that would draw the eye yet not feel out of place. My only negative about this arboretum is that due to its small size and location, there is ever-present noise from vehicles on the nearby roads. For me, its annoying to have my feeling of tranquility inside the arboretum frequently interrupted by yet another SUV speeding by the road near the pond.Even so, I would definitely recommend visiting Laurelwood Arboretum.

Excellent place to spend time in Spring & Summer with family and friends.plenty of Azalea, charmingly fragrant Rhododendron and varity of known and unknown native plants are there. Very nice place for hiking, rare birds photography. lots of chipmunks and few squirrels were spotted during the hike. A sensory garden is at the entrance and a pond with water fountains adds to the serenity of this place. you might come across deer during the dusk. A great experience altogether. No frees, restroom are available, donations are accepted.

It is a cool place to chill with your family on a weekend. I just found it so desolated for what it can be. There is an abandoned fountain and an abandoned lake and they can be restored. I t will really worth it. I loved it.

I have been coming here since the day I discovered it about 6yrs ago. It is unquestionably one of the most well kept, most relaxing and over all blessings to have in the area. That is not to say that there aren’t more wonderful parks throughout but none have peaked my ability to get in touch with my spiritual side like this one has.Thank you to the volunteers who keep this park ever changing yet the same...God Bless.

Beautiful and very well kept pace! Tranquil harmonious ambiance, with a feel of being away in a secluded garden within a forest, the stuff that takes car of this place does a very good job planting setting up the whole thing to make it better everyday, its a blessing to have such a beautiful place so close from home. Thanks for all the hard work you guys put in to make this place possible for the public.

Very nice walk in the spring with minimal biting insects, plenty of Chipmunks running around, many birds, and of course all the flowers and trees. Many different fragrances, and the sensory section was great with tasting and smelling many different types of plants. Although we visited without our 3 year old, there were enough other things like babbling brooks, ducks, and frogs to entertain a young child. We plan on returning with him sometime in the future.

Came here for a walk and it was truly wonderful. I got to see some beautiful fall colors and quite a few animals too. Lots of different birds, some deer (they let you get pretty close to them), and a fox. Although I think Laurelwood Arboretum is really great, I feel like it can be more. Hopefully someone can make that happen but it is definitely worth to check it out right now as is. Would definitely go again.
