Nice park that is a little tucked away. There were a few cracked stones on the walkway and the area looked like it hadnt gotten any attention from the city or the Park Service. But, nice place to visit if youre interested in General Pershing or if youd like to see monuments to people other than the huge ones on the Mall.
Pershing Square Park is an often overlooked park near the White House in downtown DC often overshadowed by nearby Freedom Plaza. In its prime, Pershing Square Park housed a cafe and an ice skating rink. The cafe is abandoned and the rink long gone. What remains is a memorial to Pershing himself and plenty of seating (some in shade) for office workers to enjoy lunch.
We sat down and watched people go about their business. It was refreshing. Lots of sun . Drivers were considerate. Will recommend to others.
It is a good place to go with the family, there are many places to visit in this place, it takes you all day to visit all the sites of interest
Quaint little park with historical statues, just around the corner from the White House. Seems to be a little neglected.
Beautiful park, great place to take a break while walking around D.C.
Great place to sit and eat lunch but the park is in desperate need of an update from the NPS/DC city. Not sure who actually owns the park but the fountain/pool has been out of operation for at least 3 years.
Visitors should show MORE RESPECT! Honor our fallen Heros that provided the freedom we take for granted.
Its a historical place nearby Jefferson memorial and cherry blossom. Good place to take nce pictures during blossom.
Great place to visit. Get 5ickets before going to Washington monument.
Love the energy and all the food and retail options. Parking can be a challenge
While a monument to the great general of The war to end all wars it is small and under stated. Still people are their own worst enemy because we never learn nor remember our mistakes which means we are bound to repeat them.
Nice little park with some cool monuments and history.
Lot of history in Washington, DC, be ready to walk a lot and enjoy all our history.
Pershing Park is temporarily closed during the construction of a World War I memorial. Its supposed to reopen late 2020 or sometime in 2021.
Take a break, relax, enjoy few minutes.free entertainment from friendly local birds.
It was a beautiful place to visit. I ordered food and it does have a great atmosphere here love it
Amazing, truly amazing.
Informative place but needs to be cleaned up.
Great building of this gteat city.
Very beautiful great place to visit
A nice place to walk with the kiddos
Tons of rats at night. They are everywhere.
Cute little park. Surprisingly empty but maybe because of some of the regular occupants who take up the benches. It was nice to take a break from all the walking on a hot summer day on a nice shaded bench.
Just Amazing to see be in the capital
Was so good
This space needs love. Its sort of out of the way and the design lends itself to being neglected. A good pressure washer and a food service vendor would make it a great space.
Historical and gorgeous.
Nice park.
Everyone needs to visit D.C. So much to see and experience
Nice place set and relax
Awesome. Very somber and wellkept.
It is a beautiful place to go with your family and learn about the countrys history.
Its cool to see a place dedicated to a family member
Nice area
Thanks God, this park will become a National remembrance place dedicated to reflecting on the sacrifice made by the WW I generation.
Be careful a lot of homeless hang around this park.
Enough place for lot of cars.
Small but interesting park
Dirty and gang related place to be
Nice and pleasant place to visit
Beautiful memorial to a legendary man. If you love history, make this stop. It is a little out of the way.
Be prepared to walk.
This location would be perfect for a nice park or even an outdoor cafe but its been neglected for probably the past 20 years, ceding it to homeless people.
Got to see it!
It was a great event to oppose the fascists & racists who were in our nations capital!
Interestingly exciting!!
Nice view
Lovely park next to White House. Will soon be made over as the Nationsl WWI Memorial beginning November 2017.
Water fountains didn’t deliver any water. Rain from last night didn’t drain and instead lay unmoving in pools at the ground level. Trash blew in the wind. Compared to many of the great parks nearby it didn’t look like this one was being cared for. Wasted potential for this large area very close to the White House. It contains lots of benches for seating and features more stone than trees with the great memorial to General Pershing watching from the corner.
A good hangout spot .
Its nice
Easy get lost spots
Nice place
Beautiful area
Its a beautiful park/gathering place to eat lunch or simply reflect. Very unique architecture.
Great park.
Great trips for families and history buffs
Went by a few times at night and there was always what seemed to be a group of bums
Its an open park that has a deep hatred for skaters, and will enforce that hatred heavily.. Other than that you wouldnt have to worry I suppose
Beautiful park at night, during the day the skateboard crowds hangs here. None were rowdy, but gave you a feeling that you were intruding.
People smoke weed there
Beautiful area. Free parking nearby, due to the museums
One of the nicer small parks downtown for sitting.
Close to ROSA PARK....
The location for the occupancy of the new AIM or Amerikan Injun movement and by extension Amerikan Injuns for Donald Trump.
On the way to White House
Nice place to sit, quiet, no attractions
Lovely little spot in the middle of the city
An American hero.
