Worth visiting this museum absolute indoor fun! Very excellent replica wax statues. Its very impressive. It will take 2hrs if u want to take more pics. I really enjoyed here. The staffs are friendly and sweet. Very nice place no restrictions enjoyed so much. They have a nice seating area as well a good gift shop. Their restrooms are big and clean. Best place to spend time in D.c.
Really enjoyed our time at Madame Tussauds here. Though the entry fee is little higher I think and the problem we faced about car parking because that was 1 day before the independent day of USA. We took so many pictures and this made our Washington, DC tour more awesome.
Small place, but we had a good time. Good place to go with the kids. You may be there for an hour or hour and half. I used one of the groupon deals and Im glad I did.I enjoyed, but ainwas not thrilled by it. Im not planning in coming back, maybe if is in a different state, bigger location.
2020 FebruaryWe arrived via Big Red bus. Front desk staff was really nice.See photos. Cool stuff...
We had a good time. A different type of atmosphere than the location in NYC. Seemed a bit more of museum or educational than entertainment but we still enjoyed it. I wanted to see more current wax models, but again they focused on history which made sense being in Washington. Lots to do and hands on fun made it worth it. Got to make some wax hands too!
Definitely a great spot to take pictures and see all the presidents of the United States in one place. Great location and many things to do close by too.
Really cool exhibit. I highly recommended doing the wax hand take home piece as well. To be able to stroll through history of the various presidents was very entertaining.
Doesnt look much from the outside at first but I totally underestimated how much fun (and creepy) it would be to hang around the wax figurine. Awesome detail, realistic rendering and props that you kinda expect them to move a little when youre checking and posing with them. Never thought Id take so much pictures with my friends. Overall we all had such a good time laughing.
My daughter, niece and I had a great time at Madame Tussauds over the weekend. It was a nice, short outing for us. I would definitely recommend families visit and see the amazingly lifelike wax figures. I enjoyed it much more than I expected to and the kids did as well. They also offer the chance to get your hand dipped in wax for you to take home and that was a cool experience for my niece. Pick a day and take the family.
If you are going to Washington D.C. there is a lot of things that you can do. The best majority of the museums are free. This one in particular cost $22 + Tax per adult and is not that great (very small) I have to say that if I knew this before, I would rather spend my time somewhere else. It’s fine for you to go once in your life and that’s it. It not worth it to visit Madame Tussaud’s in every location.
Must visit place in Washington DC!!!Before starting, buy tickets online because it is $5 cheaper than walk in! In addition if you are planning to visit Washington DC, schedule this Museum and Fords theater in the same day, because they are too close to each other. This museum is one of the Madame Tussauds wax sculpture museum series in the US capital Washington DC. Since it is located in US capital, it is expected that it focuses on the US characters, specially presidents and actors/actresses. Museum is located in the down stairs of a building, so it is a little bit difficult to find its entrance, but the entrance is in the intersection of 10th and F street. Exhibition starts with a sculpture of Madam Tassauds herself and continues with first US presidents and as you go, they become recent and recent untill you can take a photo with most recent one in the oval office desk. In addition there are lots of other political activists like Martin Luther King, Malcolm X etc. Then you go to the actors/actresses section where you can take photo with Michael Jackson, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Taylor Swift, George Clooney etc.
Many modern day celebrities as well as historical figures.
We enjoyed viewing the exhibits. Have fun while taking pictures. Emotions are overwhelmed! Very interesting)
It was a very nice experience. Had a Groupon and so glad I came. The beginning of the attraction is all of the presidents but once you get through that part then it goes into the celebrities. The Figures were so realistic and I appreciated that you could pose with them. They also have a great gift shop and you can also make wax hands. All of the staff was friendly and they even have a few snacks available to purchase. I definitely recommend going at least once just to experience this.
Great experience. You can see realistic wax figures of both celebrities and American icons. It truly feels like a journey through US History. Also, convenient location. Loved it!
This place is so fun and enjoyable for most! I loved taking pictures with the statues and make it appear as though I were actually interacting with the celebrities in real life. Many of the sculptures are crafted perfectly to the very last detail, there were very few that werent too good. This recommend not bringing small children because all the walking around may seem boring and they may not accept the concept. Overall, its a great experience and it may be a little pricy but its worth it.
That was an amazing experience. My Wife and I saw it while we were walking to Fords theater and decided to take a peak. After entering they had SO MANY cool things in there. My wife and I stopped at every station they had and admired everything. We took tons of picture so I will try and share a few of them! They also have where you can take pictures with the presidents and purchase them after for a rather decent price.
Very cool. Had a lot of fun here and the staff was extremely nice. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Life-size wax statues of all of the presidents and many other influential people in our countries history.
Great place to visit while on Washington, has a collection of wax figures of all American Presidents and many other famous celebrities.
Awesome wax figures of all the presidents and famous icons. Had lots of fun with the photographer ( Alonna is awesome! Friendly and fun) people at the photo booth and the wax hand booth are friendly and nice. Ask them for tips on where to eat around DC and theyll let you know :)Great museum for everyone, its small and you can take pictures of everything. Even the bathroom is well kept. Best price is through the Big Bus Tours all inclusive package, its worth it!
Compared to other madam tussauds, all US Presidents and historic figures are displayed here. Lots of props to pose for photo as well. Takes less than one hour to roam around.
We visited during our trip to DC . It is hard to tell they are wax, they all look so real and we enjoyed seeing all the iconic people here. We stopped at every booth and enjoyed all the exhibits.
Quite conveniently located close to the city centre, Madame Tussauds Washington is quite impressive. We took the big bus two days ticket and the entry for us was free. Really enjoyed our visit. Quite a lot of history to run through and nice pleasant staff at all places. Nice little shop for memorabilia and souvenirs.
Awesome & life-like experience.
Fun!fun! Fun! Some great likenesses of various artist! I was very impressed. We did a hand wax too. Nice.
Fun stop on a tour. Good mix of history and pop culture. Not sure we would have bothered if it hadnt been for the tour.
Very nice experience well recommended
This place is so cool!! So many cool figures to hang out with and photo taking is encouraged.
We visited this nice place with our round the trip booking with Red Bus. Good place to visit. Although marketing and money making seems a main aim rather that exploring an art. Many of celebrities and political leaders found there place to be selected for making their wax base statues. Also indian Filmy Hero - Heroine found place here. We captured our pictures with most of them as a lifetime memory. Average looking place. If you missed it, dont bother for it.
Pretty cool place. The staff is friendly, the wax models are nice. You can take pictures and take in a little history. We got tickets as part of the Big Bus tour. If you get the big bus tour, do the Madam Tussauads tour for sure
This place was included in our tour, we werent going to stop by, haha didnt sound too interesting, however, while we were waiting for our tour bus we came inside to stay warm. Im so glad we did. We had so much fun seeing all the wax characters. The people were very nice and friendly. An hour went by very fast. We took a lot of pictures and really enjoyed ourselves. If you wondering to go or not, we had a great time. :)
Very interesting learning facts about the different celebrities and presidents. Interactive things were cool too even the br roller coaster. Worth the money yes if we would have been able to have the full experience. The gift shop was cool pricey for sure but pretty cool.
Had a great time there! Figures are pretty good.
The staff were very friendly. The exhibits were interesting. The wax figures were of great quality. The audio with the glasses were a little distracting. Ended up taking those off. Great time overall.
We like that a lot. It was nice to see all the past presidents. The wax figures were amazing, the details in the facial features and expressions were life-like, even got a creepy feeling. The eyes were amazing.
Definitely had fun!!! Went for the first time on 11-4-18. Took my girl for her birthday. If u like to act a fool like i do u can take all sorts of pics with some of your favorite celebs. If they change it up often you will surely have fun
Always wanted to visit the wax museum. Didnt have a chance to visit the location in Times Square last year, so I had to make it a priority to visit while in DC. The wax figures look so real its scary. Its like getting in a time machine and going back in history from then to present day.
Good. If you want to see all American presidents, they are there! I was trying to buy tickets online, their site didnt work.
I love this museum. I love the detail put into the life-like wax figures. Great place to visit with family. Prices are fair, especially to locals. Its good to set aside enough time so you dont have to rush through. I would definitely go back to visit.
This place was really cool, there was a wax figure of so many famous figures. Some people you think theyre there the others you had no idea they were showcased. Its just a really good place to see your favorite people up close oh, that you can have a video to show you the process. The place is not super big so you do not have to spend as long there as you do with other Museum. If you want it you could also pay for a wax mold of your own hand (that I did not do). The Obamas and the Trumps are in the same room, but not the same display. There are two Michael Jacksons and a Whoopi Goldberg hidden at the end, your welcome
The museum has several wax statues ranging from the presidents of USA to famous celebrities (soccer player, baseball player, actors and actresses). The exhibit with President Trump and his wife by the resolute desk is great! The museum is small because it is downtown DC and I understand that the square footage is expensive but it is worth it.
One of the best, because it is in Washington it features Presidents but also has wax figures from sports and entertainment. People want to ham it up in the White House set. I like the famous figures from history. Did not like lining up outside to get it is popular
Great experience, a few too many presidents, but expected given the location. Uncanny figures of several celebrities and sports personalities.
Totally underestimated the amount of fun to be had at this place. It was amazing and the vibe is awesome! We had such a blast. Our tickets were part of our Big Bus passes and well worth the stop. Lots of fun for the whole family. Make sure you stop by! Whole visit can be done in an hour.
This is a fun and educational place to visit. The wax figures are a work of art. Good place to stop by with the kids or just a group of friends. The staff is friendly and we had a great time.
Amazing place. Quality of wax figures was amazing and had a great time.
Expected more for the cost. But those wax statues are pretty legit.Edit: in response to MT asking for what would give it greater value, more statues and scenes. After a slight AAA discount, it still cost $18/person for what was a 30 minute experience.
Ive always wanted to go to a Madame Tussauds so when I found out that there was one in Washington DC it was the first place on my agenda while I was there. Understandably there are a lot of historical figures and they were extremely life like. It would have been nice to have a larger selection in the entertainment field. All in all, although a small museum, it was well done and the extreme craftsmanship that Madame Tussauds is known for carried over into this museum as well.
Everything really looked realistic. I walked up to a wax figure and said excuse me because they are so life like. Its very educational too. I really enjoyed doing the wax figure with my daughter.
Seen these museums all over Europe but had never been. Went in DC and found it incredible. Im sure my reaction is typical - figures look so real! DC was cool as you get to meet all the Presidents plus others from local and national history, politics, and entertainment. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars for me is the lack of control of younger children and strollers. Or maybe the lack of concern from those bringing them in where they are or with what they do. Still something you need to see once.
It was bigger than I thought. All the presidents. Then pop stars (actors, singers, late night)sports, astronuts, MLK, Malcom X, etc. Takes a solid hour to do it. Probably closer to 2 with kids. Room with pop stars there is a DJ booth. Like other Madam Tussauds the wax models are very realistic. Theg offer an interactive goggle to follow along but we chose to do our own with the kids. Most who had it took it off half way through.
Loved it ..everyone should go. You will definitely enjoy...
My first time in a wax museum was super cool!
This place was a last-minute visit for us and boy was it worth it. We only paid $17 to get in.. but I think we probably spent an hour and a half two hours in there. make sure your battery for your phone is charged because youre going to take a lot of selfies!!! These mannequins are lifelike !!I would say that The Rock, President Reagan and Jimmy Fallon were my favorites!!We will definitely go back again!
Really fun place lot of cool figures (that really real)
The wax figures were so realistic. My mom almost apologized to a wax figure
Worth the money. The wax people are so life-like its crazy. Ive been to other places and they do not compare. Was a great bonus to our DC trip.
Way better than I expected. The wax statues are eerily realistic. Made for a fun excursion in DC along with all the more traditional museums.
I loved the wax museum. They look like the actual people. I waxed my own hand (which was cool). And our pizza party and the DJ was good also. Took many pictures
This is my first visit to Madame Tussaud’s. I really really enjoyed my visit. Worth each penny. There are many wax statues and they will the provide the costume for us to wear and capture the pictures. Easily we can spend 2:30-3 hrs.
Love it. Enjoyed my time. Took lots and lots of photos. It is always best to visit when this place is not crowded, to enjoy its beauty.
Overall, the museum was a good spot to visit on a cold afternoon. It offered a way to stay inside and get a sneak peek at the Presidents, movie stars and other celebrities. Be sure to order tickets online and you can save 20%! Plus if you are a local (live in MD, VA or DC) you can get the local pricing as well. Overall, takes about 1 hour to get through the museum and you also get a chance to get a picture with former President Obama and Mrs. Obama as well as a chance to sit in the Oval Office and be President. Overall, a good experience and worth visiting!
I thought it was expensive for the size. The one in NYC is more entertaining. The cool thing about this is though was it had all the Presidents. It should be called the Hall of Presidents though since the other wax figures of celebrities were few and seemed to have been thrown in as extra fluff : )
The museum was pretty cool, they have replicas of many famous people, my favorite was John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton.
Seen these museums all over Europe but had never been. Went in DC and found it incredible. Im sure my reaction is typical - figures look so real! DC was cool as you get to meet all the Presidents plus others from local and national history, politics, and entertainment. 2tavikes. 43cm..higt
I have wanted to visit a Madame Tussauds for many years so this year for our 20th anniversary my husband took me there!! Love, love, loved it!! So amazing and life like and all the stops were interactive!
Had a great time and it was worth the time
Enjoyed this so much. Some of the people look real and a very good replica. Friendly staff and lots of great picture to capture.
The only wax museum to have all the presidents. It is a quick walk through but you can take photos with all of them. They even have costumes for you to wear.
Love this particular Madame Tussauds focuses on Presidents of United States. Its great to see all of them as almost life-like statues. Some of them look very real especially their eyes. The photo ops in the oval office and with the Obamas are very fun and the pictures look great.
It was definitely fun- and one of the best wax museums Ive been to I terms of quality of the figures. That being said, the value for the price of admission is just ok. I think I spent less than an hour here to see everything. Im not sure I would pay for my family of 6 to go unless I had a coupon.
Easy to navigate. All the presidents please some sports and celebrities. Lots of good photo ops.
Had a blast (little Creepy) but awesome
Super fun place to get them pics for the Gram!
Wow, Wow, Wow. Kids had an absolute blast. Staff was great. Displays were amazing.
If you have PTSD do NOT come here because there is a WWII section and as soon as you walk into it gunshots and blaring emergency alarms go off. If loud/sudden noises similar to gunshots trigger you please dont go. It made me uncomfortable even though Ive never been out at war.
The wax figures are freaky real. I had a blast at this place!
This exhibition is amazing and got great displays of our former statesmen and women. I love the Oval office show
Really enjoyed this stop, we were just looking for something to do in the area & it was our first time at a wax museum. Super realistic! We were able to take our time & take plenty of pictures. Staff was both friendly & fun.
Slightly smaller than I was hoping, but the craftsmanship is amazing! I wish some of the celebrity wax figures were more up to date.
Expected more celebrities.... but amazing indeed
Really enjoyed this museum. Admission is free with purchase of Big Bus Tour deluxe ticket (which I also highly recommend). This was a favorite of my kids as well as us adults. This is a must see in my opinion!
This one is different than the one I went to Vegas. There are more presidents here of course. I liked that there were people like Frederick Douglas, Martin Luther king, Malcolm x, and Rosa parks too. Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Beyonce are at this one too we had fun posing! Not as cool as the other wax museums though
Expensive, but fun. Doesnt take long, so dont plan for more than 2 hours. Wax hands cost extra, but were a big hit with my kids.
This museum is not what I expected. This unique experience takes you through history with all the presidents on display. As you continue through the museum, it was nice to see the different celebrities. The staff at the museum was amazing. They put in the effort to let you have brag worthy pictures with the different figurines.
Good quality statues. Wirth watching.
Don’t miss it in Washington. All famous people there.
We just had a lot of fun and laughs here.
Great experience for my family!
The main focus here is in the presidents. They have them all.The rest is rather short and so you won’t stay inside too long.
Went down to Washington DC for my birthday weekend and was my first time ever going to a Madame Tussauds. I was greeted with great customer service from Ray and all staff. Special thanks to Rudolph for all your help and hospitality! :)
Very good wax museum but has a very few figures compared to the other museums in US and around the world. No Indian super stars wax figure
It was okay but fun . It was expecting something a little bit bigger.
We had a blast here! Wasnt crowded when we went, but we also had a Groupon for this. I wouldnt pay full price, but a fun stop!
This was our first time visiting a wax museum and we were a little disappointed. This location must be used for the irregular statues. It seemed to us that all the black actors didnt even look like the them. The statue of The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin so far off I didnt recognize her. She was looking down and it was so dark. The Queen had large breast all her life but on this statue she was a A cup. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson had a gap in his teeth, which hes never had. Im not even a Beyonce but her statue was horrible as well. Denzel Washington looked like him far away but when you got up on it, it looked like a stunt double or something. The statues of President Obama and his beautiful wife, Michelle Obama Evander Holyfield, Samuel L. and Tiger Woods were the only ones that looked like them. Even Whitney Houstons statue was a little off. My children were unhappy with how small the this museum was. The prices of the souvenirs were very reasonable. I also liked the location was in the area of all the places we wanted to visit.
Fun place to take pictures and get quick history lesson.
Pretty cool place. Very realistic! Enjoyed the museum and the history.
