Always great to see the National Monument on person. Currently they are done repairing the facade, but the obelisk is still not open as they are repairing/ renovating the interior of the monument. Am told that the view from the monument is spectacular. It is located at one end of the Mall near the new African American Museum.
Great place to visit atleast once in lifetime.
So much to see here!Take the time to walk around and especially walk to the other side of the Potomac. If you have a map on your phone, follow the route around the whole mall.Well worth your time to get different perspectives of all the different monuments and memorials here!
Beautiful open space filled with historical monuments. Great for walking around taking in the sights.
Incredible, feel very Patriotic here
Clean not crowded a very good walk
Wonderful place. Recommend to all.
Is so good visittin that plac3
Center of National Mall.. This is one of the top ten monuments in Washington. Amazing that it was all built with bricks and very interesting to see the color change caused by the halt in work before completion. This can be viewed from so many places but the best view is to walk down the wide mall.
Its definitely a pretty nice view
Nice place, day and night.
Lovely memorial visually and emotionally
It was a great experince enjoy the walk in the Washington Mall
Beautiful monument with great views
Great place to visit, even while areas are under construction. An absolute must for everyone! Grounds are magnificent, and the view from the monument is spectacular! 5 stars++++ without a doubt!!
Stopped by to see the kite flying competition and the cherry blossoms. Insane crowds, but everyone was nice and we got to see everything!Always take mass transit to the mall, wear comfy walking shoes or sneakers, bring a bottle of water, sunscreen, and a hat. You will have wonderful time!
Beautiful grounds. Wish we would have known it was under construction.. there was nothing online we found that said it.
Well when we were there the monument itself was closed but it is open now. The grounds are very nice and the shop has quite a bit of stuff
The Washington Monument is re-open after almost 4 years of maintenance. What a view of DC from top of the monument. And remember that the whole structure is held together by sheer gravity; no steel or cement reenforcement at all! All 555 feet tall!
Plenty of space to walk around and a picturesque place to be.
United states of Americas heart
Neat green space that appears reasonably well maintained. Theres not much within the immediate vicinity to protect you from the elements, so come prepared - bundle up, bring an umbrella, put on sunscreen - whatever the weather calls for. The nearest public restrooms are about a 10-minute walk from the base of the monument.
Beautiful, well maintained area.
Great place to have picnic and take a walk.
Huge grassy area that you can watch Marine One fly around with El Presidente while eating your 14 dollar churro you got from one of the taco trucks.
Visited twice. Awesome to see at night. Highly recommend.
Loved the salute to America on the 4th. Would go every few years if the flyovers were bigger and other military stuff was also in the praide.
It reminds you of where we first began as a country. Always remember our ancestors.
Cool place
Great place to walk.
Best place to take pictures, has the reflection pool, white house, etc. nearby
Beautiful.
The kite festival was crazy and fun! So many people, so many kites, so many kids!
It was closed but still beautiful
It is what it says, lots of museums, lots of monuments, it needs more time to take everything in than the few hours we had. If youre into museums then this would be museum heaven and the Smithsonian ones are free! Be prepared for bag and security screening.
Great expansive lawn to hang out or explore around the monuments.
The whole area is amazing
Great for walking. Well maintained
I alway love visiting but the traffic to get here is awful.
The cherry blossoms were really pretty
Even though the monumentWas closed for renovations, it was still beautiful to see.
Notice the discoloration about 2/5ths up the monument? Thats how high the Biblical Flood waters got! Its amazing the structure was able to survive Gods wrath.
Make sure to arrive early in the morning to get the walk up tickets.
I get alot of my Motivation from many people in this area. I have talked to some great interesting people that have visited me and shared so much information at the Washington Monument grounds. Integrity is what makes this great country endure. There are alot of people that are doing the right thing when no one is looking.
Great for walk!!
It was a beautiful experience. The tour bus was driver was the best!
Lots of great history in and around the grounds. Great green space!
Not open
Wish it were open so we could go up inside, maybe next time
Beautiful area, great for walking. So much history everywhere.
Great place to visit and spend time. But a lot of the space has soil with gravel and small pebbles and when it rained was not uncomfortable especially for elder people
The queue line was just too long, visit early so not to wait on line.
It’s grass that is in front of the Washington Monument
Always inspiring!
Awesome to see history.
Great place to bring the entire family! Outstanding views everywhere you look. Bring your camera!
Nice open area with great views of the monuments.
Beautiful and relaxing!
