Simply put: The Best Venue Washington DC has to offer. The Warners Classic architecture permeates every sight, sound and hint of Art, and gives it motion on levels even the Kennedy Center isnt capable of providing. If you havent experienced even a film at the Warner Theatre, youre neglecting something essential our Nations Capital has to offer.
A beautiful theater with courteous staff and wonderful service! We watched the Nutcracker ballet here and the experience was phenomenal, seats were comfy and we really felt like the production was trying to give an authentic experience to the crowd. Will definitely be back for future shows and hope to have more wonderful times at this venue.
Went to the Warner Theatre for my first time this week to see Jocko talk about leadership. The theater is simply gorgeous. They did a really nice job when they renovated it a few years back. Before you go in, there was a security screaning process which I thought was appropriate given the times. The only complaint I have is that the seats are a bit tight BUT that is too be expected in such a historic place.
Awesome venue in DC. Not much room for dancing and revelry, but they do let you get up and dance around out of your seats. Very traditional theatre ambiance and atmosphere with amazingly excellent acoustics and sound. In terms of sound youll get an amazing show here, theatrics and visuals are on par but not extraordinary, and if there was anywhere to improve it would be for more room to dance. Saw my friend Dustin Thomas open for John Butler Trio and it was epic. Blessings
Beautiful old theater originally opened in 1924, was reopened in 1992. There is a large balcony with special seating at the front of the balcony where you can be served drinks and snacks. The view from the top of the balcony seems a bit far, but the acoustics are good. The bathrooms are not quite large enough to accommodate the whole theater at intermission, so expect a line. Overall a very enjoyable theater.
Its a lovely and classic venue, with great acoustics and enough people working that drinks are easy to come by. However, the upper level leg room is airplane-level bad; if youre tall like me, spring for better seats, I guess. Also definitely go for aisle seats because theres virtually no way to get out of middle seats without causing a whole thing with the other people in your row.
What a breathtaking theatre! It really takes you back in time! However just because its a time capsule of a theater does not mean it cant accommodate modern shows. It has all the technology needed to show very futuristic shows as I saw in opening of the cherry blossom festival. I also sailormoon super live which is very heavy handed in using technology to tell the story. Overall just a great experience!
Cant believe Ive never been here before but better late than never. Hubby & I recently attended the Deep Purple concert here a few weeks ago and I was awestruck at how beautiful the theater is. We had seats in the balcony and the acoustics were wonderful but not only are the seats extremely small but the walkways between them felt like I was walking a tightrope. The drinks at the bar are really expensive but Im used to that at similar venues. We actually paid for our parking at the time we purchased our tickets and it turns out the parking garage was right across the street which was super convenient and the area was well lit so I felt really safe walking to the venue after the show.
Very nice theatre, right off the red line. I love coming here for comedy shows! There are a ton of great beers and the food is nice. If possible, you should definitely upgrade to the VIP tables if available. Easy to see the performance, good acoustics and friendly service. The security pat down can be a nuisance, but its quick.
Second time being at the Warner since i was a kid back in the 70s. My daughter treated me to Chaka Khan over the weekend and I had an absolute ball. Great place Acoustics perfect
I saw a Chorus line it was fantastic. Fine beautiful theater with comfortable seats and a snack place outside with bathroom. The location of the feather is near restaurants and touristic or just local shops. They put in very nice plays and it’s worth going to see them.
Grand old school theater!! Intimate. Great accoustics. I have seen concerts, Bobby Bones, dance, book authors, President Clinton & James Paterson, comedians like John Oliver, The Nutcracker here.
Very beautiful old school theatre and you can bring the drinks you buy at the bar to the seats.
I would have given them 5 stars but honestly I’d rather pay $60 for a ticket then be offered a ticket for $30 and pay $30 in charges also most employees don’t know the policy kids under 1 are free I had no problem at the door but when I went to go to my seat that lady did not know the policy and gave us a hard time the stroller check was nice bathroom access with small kids was hard other then that it was nice but I think if I went back I’d sit up top in the balcony cause the speaker hid the Christmas tree the whole show
Went to Warner theater for an awards show and had a blast. The theater is amazing. We sat in the upper deck and had a clear view of the stage. We will definitely be going back.
This is a very nice theater. It was my first time coming here. I took my son to see a kids show. The staff were friendly and kept a good flow of patrons entering and exiting. Well Done!
TTB performance...great venue with history and good acoustics.
Great venue! Getting in was super easy, the security cleared the line fast. No problems with sound equipment or anything for our show as well. My only gripe was that the armrests in the seats are very close to your sides so if the people next to you take them you kind of have to squeeze your arms in.
This is a pretty good theater. Its old, gold and ornate. Every time Ive gone its very full so the lobby can be a little tight. The theater itself is quite nice and there really isnt a bad seat in the house. The grade is perfect so you should be able to see over the heads of the row in front of you alright. The mens bathroom is a little small which becomes apparent during intermission. Overall its a nice classic theater in a prime location. If only they didnt use ticketmaster for their tickets.
Beautiful historic theatre with two levels for seating. The chandeliers took my breath away! The staff is so kind and helpful. There is parking in the same building although I took a Uber. Thanks Warner!
What a GORGEOUS theatre! I love to go to concerts at small venues and this one is absolutely charming! My fiancee & I saw Lindsey Buckingham perform here! He put on a PHENOMENAL show!
This time around, everyone was polite and helpful. The theatre itself is beautiful. I wish they could do something about the parking situation which is understandable due to the location.
I saw my first concert in n the late 80s at Warner theater. It is one of the most iconic and beautiful concert halls. It has kept its charm. A must see . A must visit...
Beautiful venue with quick and easy access. The seats are a little small, so dont be surprised if you feel like youre on an airplane. As long as the show is good though, youll quickly forget about it.
This location is easily reachable from VA and the best place to park is in the Warner Theatre’s own parking place. The price is surprisingly cheaper than the other parking places, in front of the Warner Theatre. Alas the parking entrance, although very accessible once discovered, is somewhat hidden and one has to drive around the block to find it.
This Theatre welcomes only the best acts from every corner of the preforming art world! Dont pass up the chance to see a show if youre in DC! So lucky I live close to such a beautiful arts center.
Great place to see a live concert. Early 20th century charm. Small enough that you have a good view of the stage from any seat.
We saw a lovely production of The Nutcracker by the Washington Ballet. The theater had nice ambiance but it is no Kennedy Center. Very small lobby and orchestra seating and walkway. No coat check. Crowding is an annoyance.
Beautiful antique building, but with some sophisticated touches, we went to see King Crimson show, which was a blast, so for me was a good experience.
Saw Deep PurpleAnd was surprised that these old guys can still sound so tight. Don Airey gave a master class in organ/keyboard playing that covered everything from Classical, Jazz, Blues, to heavy rock. And Steve Morse was perfect on guitar. Even Ian Gillan managed to pull off the vocals very well, missing only the highest registers. I just hope that I can be half as energetic when I reach that age.
Beautiful old theater with exquisite decor. A bit small and definitely not well-suited for big events in their foyer because its just too small for that. The confession stands left a lot to be desired as it was mostly popcorn and pretzels and nothing a bit more refined and also their bar served very very light drinks with barely any alcohol in them. The last thing I would say is they need to work on their ventilation because it got pretty hot towards the end of the performance inside the theater Hall.
Just went to see dream theatre and the place was beautiful! Easy parking right across the street. The event security is garbage except for the supervisor. My boyfriend has stage 4 cancer and can’t drink anything but distilled water, so he brought his own in a glass container. Was told he had to pour it out before he went in. For someone who works in the customer service and restaurant industry I can understand “business”. They want to sell their own waters, drinks, food, etc. But some exceptions I’m sure can be made. This event security, not only looked at him like he was lying; but lied and said there was distilled able to be bought. For people paying very good money, especially for the VIP seating that I got, I felt belittled at the front door. Should I have checked first? Probably. But should they have been nicer and or more accommodating? I think so. At least directed us to his supervisor which I found out later was very polite and pleasant. Overall; the theatre itself is beautiful, and the staff inside are very wonderful as well.
What a beautiful theater. They took great care of it, its clean, and the entertainment is top notch! We went there for The Nutcracker and were thoroughly impressed.
I called to purchase tickets (as I did not want to pay Live Nations ridiculous service fees), and got a ton of attitude for no reason. When we got to the venue for the show, the rest of the staff was also incredibly rude (specifically the ushers). We got there on time but the staff members in charge of checking bags at the door held us up so we didnt actually get to enter until the show had started. The usher (an older woman) told us we wouldnt be able to be seated and had to wait outside the doors until intermission. At least two other parties arrived after we did, and were shown to their seats during the show by other ushers. I asked why we werent allowed to be seated and why they were and the usher previously mentioned said something like the other ushers werent listening to her.
Saw Toto here, which was a treat The theater is gorgeous and quite historic. Seats are comfortable but a bit small. They allow drinks to be brought into the theater, but be prepared to hold onto your drink or hazard placing it on a floor that angles slightly down towards the stage!
The Warner Theater is so beautiful inside! It has such a nice ambiance that adds a lot to the experience of seeing a show there. We bought tickets for the matinee show of the Nutcracker just 15 minutes before show time on Stubhub for about 25% of the original price and it was such a lovely, affordable way to spend a few hours. They sell snacks, dessert, hot beverages and alcohol and there are great views from every section of the theater.
Such a gorgeous venue! One of the most beautiful places Ive ever seen live music in. Besides the decor, it had good acoustics, a nice layout, and decently comfortable seats. See something here if you have the chance!
Patti Patti!! There really isnt a bad seat in the house as far as sound quality, this is my favorite venue in DC. The ushers are so efficient at getting you through the door and seated. Parking is sometimes a feat but hey its DC. Take pictures of the gorgeous chandelier, it makes for a great memory if you can get the shot.
The Warner is a good venue but....Just saw the Nutcracker performed there which gets a one star rating as the worst performance of this venerable event I have seen in my life. (As my daughter has performed various roles in this, I have seen many productions.)The performers: 2 stars as one fell down in the first scene. Timing was off. No fireworks. The music: ZERO stars. recorded music! Unbelievable and an embarrassment to the host city.Choreography: one star-she must have been on Ambien. The little “jokes” didn’t work. The dancers were flat with lots of empty moments.Stage: one star. poorly done w inane changes from the classic.Costume: 5 stars. Beautiful costumes.
Great vintage venue with an intimate feel. I loved all the cool architectural details. Leslie Jones killed it...she was amazing. We saw the second show at 10 pm and her energy level was still sky high!
Beautiful theater with awesome acoustics! Ive attended many shows here, and they were all superb! Multiple vending areas, clean bathrooms, and great views of the stage whether youre in the orchestra or the balcony.
Antique, but beautiful interior. All the sound effect systems were great. Theres a little bar which sells a drink. Staffs were nice too. Wide view with whole lot of selection seats. No parking. Street parking required or parking lot. To save money, taking a subway is also a good idea too. Highly recommended to watch or enjoy the concerts in Washington d.c.
The theater is absolutely beautiful and the staff is amazing.
Went to the Joseph Prince night of worship last night. This facility has uncomfortable seating. The track lighting is in the way of the big screen if sitting in the balcony. Now, the reason I give 1 star for the FACILITY is they charged $5.00 for bottled water! $5.00 for a cup of soda with a bunch of ice! Absolutely ridiculous to charge that. Shame on you! You are taking advantage of people and next time turn on some air! It was hot!
Warner Theatre is a beautiful place to experience plays and the like. Weve had a few wonderful evenings here. Some with our children, and some without. Its a great place for a family outing or a much deserved date night!
A beautiful old gem of a theater in downtown DC. The lobby is gorgeous and the views from most seats are very good. Expect long lines at the ladies room during intermission, however.
Seats were better than expected after some of the reviews I read. Im not a little girl but I say comfortably the whole show. Saw the Nutcracker, the sets were absolutely beautiful.
I went to see Incubus at this venue a few weeks ago and I was very impressed. It is a smaller venue which I loved. The staff was friendly, the drinks were strong, the environment was clean, my seats were amazing and the sound quality was on point.Great venue in DC.
I went to see Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson speak about his book, but couldnt hear him a portion of the time because the staff were laughing and conversing incredibly loudly in the concession area. Incredibly unprofessional conduct of the staff, and really sours previous experiences at the Warner Theatre. I dont want to one star, because I know it isnt all of the staff behaving poorly.
I’ve been to so many venues and this is a great space. There isn’t a bad seat in the house at this one. Plenty of room for a large but an intimate setting that you can’t normally find outside a bar show. The staff is a dream! I dropped my keys while wrangling a toddler and they made sure to stop me on the way back and hand them to me.
The Warner theatre needs to be renovated. The seats are horrible.. everything looks old from the curtains to the paint. Also, everyone should have access to purchasing box seats since they are the most comfortable. Will not be coming back...
Ive been to this theatre so many times. Mainly I saw stage plays here. This time it was for a Netflix taping of Leslie Jones. Got the ticket as a blacklist signup! I laughed so hard I almost choked. I cant wait until it comes on so I can watch it.
Last night I attended a performance of Washington Ballets The Nutcracker at Warner Theatre, and I was absolutely shocked and appalled at the theatre policies and the conduct of the ushers and attendees. After the performance started, the ushers were leading WHOLE GROUPS of people into theatre, up to 40 minutes into the first act. Not only were people moving around, but they were carrying flashlights to lead them in, and even seating people in the middle of the front row, which of course necessitated other people standing up to let them in. I literally missed whole scenes of the performance because of people standing up and coming in ahead of me. But even worse than my inconvenience as a spectator, was the danger posed to the performers. There is a GOOD REASON that the audience is instructed to not use phones or photography, and that is for the safety of the dancers. And yet, this is EXACTLY what the ushers were doing! Leading people in with phones, flashlights, standing, and talking! It was absolutely unacceptable. If the manager of the theatre or anyone who cares about the happiness of patrons and safety of the dancers is reading this, they should contact me immediately.
Watched a live performance here. This place is wonderful. Now, i just need to find a better person to go with next time.
I am in love with interior details of Warner theatre, I’ve been to Warner for few music performances so far and the sound quality has always been great.
Very nice place for live play. Snacks are triple the price and no food sold
I have been to this theater twice and every time it is great experience. Love the interior
A beautiful place! Parking could be better, but, it IS in DC after all... It was built in 1924, so dont expect theatre seating, but, it makes up in aesthetics and character.
Very intimate venue. Loved the history. The staff were very hospitable and attentive.
Beautiful facility. Good snacks, but not enough service during intermission to actually get food. Line didnt move.
Gorgeous theatre. Large enough to not feel claustrophobic but also still feel close proximity to the stage from wherever you may be seated. Just lovely.
Always have a fantastic time seeing shows at Warner. Beautiful theater
Balcony seats are VERY small and there is no leg room (Im only 52 and my knees were pushing the seat in front of me.) Staff was very nice. Very close to Metro if you take the 13th street exit.
An annual tradition, seeing the Washington Ballet Nutcracker, always starts the holiday season. The staff are always efficient in getting us in and out. The facility, the gorgeous theater, is beautiful and well-maintained. Lots of available parking including one lot that connects to the theatre with an entrance on 12th Street.
Nice old fashioned theater. Nice change from the newer theaters even if the newer ones are larger. Showed a great film there that more people should see it, Fire on Ice.
Beautiful facility, excellent staff. I had an issue with my tickets for a show, and one of the staff worked patiently with me so my children and I could have a smoother process. The Warner Theatre is in a great location near a number of restaurants. Parking garage at 555 11th Street near Crunch was a great place to park and very affordable.
Beautiful theater, great venue for music.
I have seen several concerts here and really like how beautiful the space and the quality of the sound, lights, etc. The last concert I saw was a predominantly pop artist who has recently done a more acoustic, folk album. Many of the song had to enjoyed wile sitting, with a quiet and sitting audience. With the number of people coming in and out and sitting down on row and several rows in front of us, it was very hard to enjoy more than half of the show. I wish they would not allow people to interrupt until, at least the end of a song, unless everyone is standing up. I don’t think I will come back to see the artist to this venue, unless they change the policy.
Love this entertainment venue. Convenient to Metro, public parking, and many great food establishments before and after each performance.
Excellent Venue. The Staff treats everyone like VIPs. And Set It Off was even better the 3rd time! Love this place.
Wonderful place! Great sound. Beautiful.
Went to see Ludovico show. The theatre is crazy amazing and spectacular. Must visit.
Beautiful theater with good acoustics. Its very warm if you end up in the upper balcony
I had s situation where my babysitter became unavailable the week before the concert. Tatiana and Mary Claire were fantastic and helped us out. They were professional and prompt. They helped us get a ticket and found us great seats so we could sit near each other. We were very grateful! Definitely 5 stars in my book. Thank you so much!
The OJays were wonderful and they get more than a 5 star. The Theater gets a lower rating. I purchased VIP tickets and still have no idea what that offered me. Never received the gift that was publicized and NO ONE ever answered the phone or returned my call. Not to worry. I will never purchase VIP at the Warner Theater again. Please dont offer a service and dont provide it.
What a great venue. Absolutely beautiful. Friendly helpful staff and the prepaid event parking couldnt have been easier.
Excellent theater! Love that it is smaller than most theaters Ive been too which is great because it makes it more intimate.
Really nice inside.
Beautiful theater. They have great variety of shows throughout the year. We enjoyed Lara Fabians concert.
Great place to see a show. Drinks arent overly expensive for a theater. Close to metro and parking garages. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Very friendly staff.
Easy location, historic building, great premium services. We enjoyed the hall and art deco decoration inside. Can’t wait to visit again.
This is a very cool, old and ornate theater that makes you feel like you are in a truly special place. Drinks are relatively easy to get and bathrooms arent awful. That said, its a puzzling location for anything other than a very relaxed musical performance or comedy show. Unless you have a floor or special box ticket, this is not a theater you should go to expecting to let loose and dance. Barely anyone was standing during Old Crow Medicine Show which is a bummer when you go to a show like that to jam out. Granted there were pockets of people here and there standing/dancing, but it is impossible to do so without blocking others view. Ultimately, the venue is a 5/5 but is dragged down by the type of shows Ive seen there.
Beautiful Venue. Ive visited many times and Im never disappointed.
Saw Dave Mason and Hot Tuna at the Warner Theater. Quick note is that I thoroughly enjoyed Dave Mason who was absolutely great. I dont know why Dave Mason opened for Hot Tuna who was absolutely terrible but that could be because I am not a fan.The theater itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, they seem to enjoy turning on the bright lights directly into the eyes of the audience again and again during the performance. I have no idea why but it added nothing to the performance. All in all, a beautiful theater that was adversely impacted by a lighting technician.
Awesome venue for an intimate concert. Incubus was on fire for the show on October 12th. It would have gotten five stars if the drink prices were more reasonable, and higher-quality.
The concert was great, seats alright. I wonder if the double Vodka had vodka cause while drinking I felt the lemonade more than the liquor itself. The sound, I expected a little more since the singers performance is great in every concert she makes.
Went here for a conference/training. Super nice and absolutely beautiful on the inside!
The best small theatre around. Saw the Nutcracker there and it was impressive.
Great customer service. Staff was friendly and we had a great time.
ALWAYS a Pleasant Experience. One of the nicest & cleanest Indoor Venues around. Very classy. I Love going there
Nostalgia and great sound, plus there seems to be no bad seats in the house. We saw Dave Mason and Electric Tuna something. We are Dave Mason fans. The other band was good if you like Americana kind of blue grassy jamming.
Have seen Margaret Cho there twice. We love it! They sell food (and alcohol) you can take to your seats. Beautiful architecture. We love going to the Warner Theatre!
Took my daughter to see the PJ Masks Live Show. The Warner Theater was nice inside and a good place to see a show. Only issue I had is that they ran out of snacks (popcorn and candy) before intermission and it was a kids show. Luckily I brought our own snacks but could have been dicey if I didn’t, haha.Pro Parking Tip - there is a garage across the street close to the theater that lots of people were trying to get into. Instead of that garage, park in the one within the same block just on the complete other side. No wait and you didn’t have to go back outside to get into the show - there was a side entrance we used.
Seats up top (second floor) in the back are bad, cant see the stage if youre more than a couple rows back from the front row. Also the bar at the entrance is usually pretty slow.Pro tip: of you need to use the mens room, use the one upstairs closest to the main entrance (this one has 4 or 5 urinals and several stalls) whereas the one on the main floor is a single.2nd Pro tip: if the lines are long at the main bar, try the bar downstairs. At big shows this one is packed too but its worth a shot -- leave a friend in line upstairs while you go check.
The details of this theater are amazing. Go to the front and just look at all the audience and how beautiful it is.
