The MSG of the District of Columbia!! Went here for my brother’s graduation ceremony, indeed, a milestone to how far he has come!! The cap toss in the sky was the best part. All the people in the music hall were cheering. My grandmother (the other one who lives in Fairfax) was with me!! An unforgettable day at an unforgettable place!!
Well structured hallAll kinds of events can be celebrated here.Sufficient space, comfortable seats, rolls and columns well organized.Lovely space.Make sure you get to your event early so you search parking spaces closer. Anyway thats a DC known issues lolI enjoyed my time spent in there, hopefully I will attend other shows too.
My husband took me on a date here for a concert w few weeks back. It was amazing! Obviously, the band was phenomenal, but I was also extremely impressed by the venue itself. This place is beautiful! The sound quality was the best I have ever experienced. I would definitely attend a show here again and I recommend it to anyone wanting a wonderful night out!
I worked two blocks away for years and never knew there was a museum in the DAR, and I wish I had known sooner! There are a lot of cool exhibits, including a bunch of rooms decorated from different historical periods and exhibits about the history of the organization. The building itself is also really beautiful inside and out, and they have a library where you can research your genealogy. Also it’s free! They have special events and Christmas activities too, so I’ll definitely be back.
I went this past December for the very first time to see the United States Navy Band Christmas concerts. I attended all three of there concerts. Each time I sat in different areas on the main floor. I never had a bad view at all. The sound was absolutely amazing. The seats were very comfortable. I was very impressed with the size of the ladies room. I talked with several employees as well as members of the Navy band, and everyone was very friendly and caring. Looking forward to attending another United States Navy Band Christmas concert.
We went to see Trevor Noah End of Days tour. He is by far the funniest, smartest comedian we have performing today. You will laugh and be challenged to think when he gets political. He is wiser than most and his insight into American politics is light years ahead of many of our nations most politically savvy commentators. His performance at Constitution Hall was par for the course. We miss you President Obama.
This building is beautiful and there isnt really a bad seat in the theater. We went for the Air Force Band seasonal performance and it was amazing, the sound was great. The bathroom was massive and the line was non existent. It is a cash bar with some $4 drinks and some $14 drinks which is par for DC.
The venue is laid out very well. It is easy to get to restrooms and exits at the appropriate times. We have attended several presentations over the years and always find it to be a wonderful experience.
Beautiful venue with great hall for shows. Lots of space and stalls in the womens bathrooms- great for intermission and after the show. Acoustics and view from balcony are great. Bring patience on a wet day waiting to get in the door.
Exelent place. Wonderful Acustic. Very clean.
Great show. Poor parking options. Good seating. 2 bags of chips and 2 waters cost 14 dollars. So eat before you go. 1 drink is 15 dollars and is completely watered down. Probably should do something about this so you all can sell put more shows.
Legends of hip hop concert was great!!! But Juvenile was a no show smdh.
It is big, but inside looks not update and seems old.Of course finding a parking spot is not easy, you are in DC, dont expect a lot, plan in advance and consider time how you want to get there.Another point, dont spend money to buy expensive seat if they are in front, but located in the CORNER.I did this mistake. The seat plan on your monitor screen may look perfect. In reality, the sounding system in the corner CLOG your sight, and not comfort at all.
Really great event space. I’ve seen a few concerts and events here and they’ve all been excellent. They have a bar/lounge space downstairs so get there early to avoid security lines to enter. Also know that if you’re in the very back of the orchestra section it is hard to see. But balcony seats are also well worth it!!
Ive visited twice for DC comedy jam shows and have throughly enjoy my experiences. Upper bowl seats offer better views but the seats are a little less comfortable for persons over 6ft tall.
Comedy show - had good time
It was a decent place. We went for the No Limit Reunion concert and had booth seating. The only negative I have is that the booth was set up for 5 seats, but there was really only room for four.
Venue was great and spacious. However the seats I had were terrible. They were the ones on the lower/middle part where your sitting in actual chairs. I could not see the stage when we went to see Adventure Zone. I had to lean around this big guy to not stare at the back of his head the entire time. But the rest was alright. Drinks are too expensive but I guess its D.C. but still sucks price wise.
Not the best place for Hs graduation.... been to two of them and everytime its a hassle to get in or out
My husband and I had a amazing time Dionne Warwick, Peobo was wonderful I would give it a 10 plus
This venue is perfect for concerts. The seating was great. I was in row J and could see the stage perfectly.
Awesome venue! Saw the Nick Mason Saucerful of Secrets show on 4/22. Cool building....great acoustics! Will definitely go back. Highly recommended
Nice views with small seats. But good bar. And good ushers. Friendly place.
Great sound system. Seats are well placed but need to be a little wider as they are very close together
I have been here for four graduations and a live podcast. The seating is comfortable, and they have stadium seating surrounding the floor seats where the graduates would be. The building has a lot of history to it, as seen in the architecture and grandness of it all.
Went to see Jo Koy tonight! What a great show and a great venue to see him at. Not a bad seat in the house... unless you were stuck sitting behind the speakers off the stage! Lol...
Venue is great place to enjoy annual AF Concert. However mens room in basement had a massive mess on the floor
A wonderful event. Beautiful decorations fabulous music and singing. So thankful we had the experience
The venue has great history. This event has great enterrainment, seating and views. They offer drinks, food, pictures and souvenirs
Old school yet clean and intimate seating. I bought tickets in the last row of Section U. I looked at all available pics because I was concerned about the view. Tickets said view was obstructed. Once there I realized that there were 2 free standing lights on the stage that could hinder the view of performers if they are standing directly beside them...none of the 5 or 6 performers did. I was pleased with the view. Pretty sure those lights were only there for this show. I guess depending on type of props this could be an issue at other shows.
I went with the girlfriend of mines to hear the OJays Adeles Manhattans groups such as these with who sing real music. This is a clean facility I would recommend it to everyone
An amazing structure, been going here since I was a kid. Must have been repainted recently, it looks gorgeous!
I saw Katt Williams. There isnt a bad seat in the house. Great show, great venue
Wonderful holiday presentation for the local schools with the Arms Force band. My six year old enjoyed himself.
High School Graduation is a great experience. Seeing all of the young minds preparing to enter a new level of understanding what opportunities and options are available for their future endeavors. If you have or know a graduate, help them learn about how to position themselves for a great life starting today. Your impact can be the difference between the unclear and a very Successful Life Path. Positive encouragement is always important and key to helping to create new Global Citizens for a Better World.
Small but nicely sized
Great venue. Be careful where you sit because there are some really obstructed views on the sides.
The sound and view of the stage is good. The seats are very uncomfortable. Im used to close seats but these are much closer than other places. I would not return for an event here unless I got a seat in one of the boxes.
Ok, sure, Ill give the place its historical significance and artful building details; HOWEVER, if youre over an average height or circumference, youre going to be uncomfortable FOR SURE. The seats must be the original ones they installed in 1929 Many of the overhead lights in the hall were missing pieces or not there at all! Not only that, but we could barely hear the comedian we came to see. Its really disappointing to pay a hunk of money out and travel an hour and a half to see someone performing live only to miss half the punchlines! A few large TVs off to the side of the stage wouldve at least helped to read his lips. Guess Ill just have to wait for his Netflix special. Lesson learned. The hard way, yet again.
New Years Comedy Jam
Great venue. Not really a bad seat in the house. Can be cash only at the bar, so keep that in mind.
The tickets were purchased as a gift. The show was awesome, the part that could be seen! My complaint was that a large part of the stage was blocked by one of the artists equipment!! Considering how much 2 tickets cost ($150. 00 each) there should not have been any sort of obstruction while attending the performance!! I am not sure why one artist needed so much equipment to cover part of the stage while the other 2 artists did not!! If this is going to happen then tickets for that section should not be sold!! You are cheating your guests!!!
Went to the Valentines Day show featuring The Stylistics. Was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining the 70s groups were although the seats in that place leaves slot to be desired...my hind quarters were numb by the time the show ended!!!
Date Nite!!! D.C. Comedy Jam!!! Tasty Drinks and our Seats seemed far away on seating map but was actually had a better view in person.
Gorgeous building, well appointed and comfortable across many different applications!
The show was fantastic. The sound in the upper part of the hall was so bad that you had to struggle to hear at times. Also let me say that i work in the audio visual field and might have a better ear for sound than most. The worst part was the singer. Not that she was bad but the sound support was so bad it had people just leaving. Now not being on the main floor the array system might have sounded great but above that made for a bad evening.
I really enjoyed the show my oldest daughter took me to the Frankie Beverly show for my Bday
Nice venue. Seating is a bit tight for larger and taller people. The night we went they offered some foods and cash bar sold by contractors.
Historic but they have definently kept up with modern technology as it pertains to lights and sound.
Nice old building, well kept. However, if you are larger than a size 8 or have hips, welcome to hell. The seating is atrocious! The chairs are small with arms so like I said if you have hips good luck. Also if you are tall hope you have good knees and dont mind the person in front of you rubbing their head on your knees. The spacing between where your legs go and the next row of chairs is so small I kept hitting the person behind me with my head! The person behind me was tall, taller than me and Im 511! The person in front of me she kept bumping my knees too! By the time the concert was over I wasnt enjoying myself because I was in pain from being scrunched up! You cant stretch your leg if it starts to fall asleep or cramp, and again how small the seats were. I got home that night to take a shower and I was bruised on both sides of my hips.Like did the airlines make those chairs or what?
Biggest FYI I can offer - they ONLY have a CASH bar.So if you plan to get drinks you should be advised to bring money ahead of time as the ATM line is absurd. Taking a star off for their lack of modern day technology.... Get a square reader - its not hard....Great venue overall though - with all around solid acoustics. We went for G-Eazy and have also been here for Anthony Bourdain. Id come back anytime, and they tend to have some great interesting acts in the area.
Imo this venue is not layed out efficiently for coemdy shows etc. The staff was not very friendly.
A great place for concerts and such. AC is working it was cool inside and very pleasant. Staff was very helpful. Non-alcoholic and alcohol beverages ave chips was for sale CASH ONLY. ATM is in the building but charges $4 on fee. Bathrooms are very clean.
Historic hall, good for live shows. Give yourself a few extra minutes when taking little ones to the bathroom as it’s far removed from the main floor.
This venue has improved a lot in the past ten years. The audio sounds much better. And the staff seem more organized and friendly. Its still hard to get a beverage. But its not the kind of venue for heavy drinking anyway.
Love coming here for shows. First time here for a comedy show and enjoyed it! I understand the need for security but the flashlights being used were quite disruptive to the show and even the performer commented. May want to invest in something less spotlight like.
Beautiful place for a graduation! We thoroughly enjoyed the venue and the location. It was a beautiful day and we walked around our impressive nations capital both before and after the ceremony. We took the metro into the city and it was an easy walk to the venue.
They have a wonderful museum and library full of genealogy research.
This place could definitely use an upgrade! Seating is so tight, youre basically sitting on your neighbors lap! 3 stars because it was clean
Enjoyed the World Bank and IMF annual meeting that was attended by several countries from around the world. The Hall itself was an excellent venue for such an important event.
Nice place to hold large and special occasions.
The show was great! We had a great time. Make sure to bring cash to buy drinks.
Constitution Hall is nice, not too big. Good acoustics. Lots of history doing events in DC.
Constitution Hall very nice place if youre attending an event plenty of restrooms so long line you shouldnt worry. And depending on event you should be able to find meter parking before choosing to spend at a parking garage
Very nice place, but didnt like kids and parents coming close to the stage and almost obscuring the views of those seating front seat -- we pay a lot of money to sit in the front then to have kids and adults walk all the way from the back from their seats to have a closer look isnt exactly fair...
Saw Kat Williams. Loved every single minute. Staff was incredibly helpful.
I a llo ways loved coming to this venue. Been coming here for years. Watched everything from the TV show Fames traveling show in the 80s to the progressive band Dream Theatres concert in the 2000s. Lovedem both but what I enjoy the most coming to this venue is comedy show. It was the venue of two of my favorite comedy shows of all time: Eddie Murphy Delirious and Chris Rockss Bring the Pain. I just one of my favorite comedians today, Jo Koy, kill a set. It was definately worth the money. He came out and did a 2 hour set that kept me and my friends laughing from start to finish. The only reason this isnt 5 starts is the seating is dated. The seats are a bit too small. They could use a renovation. On that front but other than that, this is a great place. Easy parking, great staff, and always a great place to enjoy a good show.
Nice venue; but smallish seats & cash-only. Get there early to get parking and seating.
Place cool wouldve been better if E40 it 2Short showed up
Saw Bert Kreisher with some friends. GREAT show, excellent drinks, amazing seats right next to the stage & courteous staff
Great place for a concert, graduation ceremonies are held there lately.
DAR Constitution Hall is a venue that is used for graduations, concerts, and shows. The venue holds close to 4,000 people comfortably. The sound and lighting was good.Last night, our party of eight saw Shin Lim. Half of our party arrived late, somehow we did not have to go through security and did not receive the special envelope of cards. However, I did not like how close the rows were as if you were 53 or taller, you did not have much leg room. Also, I did not like how the seats werent elevated as we had trouble seeing past the heads in front of us.Heres my advice for next time: Arrive early to allow time to go through security (if any), use the restroom, and grab a drink. Yes, you can bring drinks into the venue but expect to hold it during the whole show.
Good sound system and light show for concerts but slightly tight booths with 5 chairs per booth
I was disappointed because I feel your should have sent out a notification to let us know the show was cancelled
I attended a high school graduation ceremony this time, and for shows on a couple previous occasions. I dont think my butt is that wide. (I sit comfortably in the airplane seats with room to spare!) However I find their seats very narrow, with minimal, a smidgen really, of elbow room. On the other hand, the AC setting usually is very comfortable. Efficient ingress/egress. On-street parking could be a hassle.
Very cozy vibe, and interesting architecture. Hard to get from place to place during intermission, but as long as you time it right youll be fine
Venue size just right for the comedy show tonight.
Great historic venue for concerts, lectures, graduations and other such events. Easy access on the Metros Blue/Orange/Silver Line from Farragut West or Red Line from Square. Metered street parking also nearby, not so much for garages.
Historic and great place to attend an event. It is old so the seats are tight.
Beautiful building. The restorations they have done make this building even better. You have to love the history of this place.
Dionne Warwick, Peabo Bryson and Denise Williams gave wonderful performances. This show was well worth the time and expense. Also, Dionne performed with her granddaughter. What a wonderful addition to the show. The venue/parking was fine...no problems at all.
The annual Christmas concert by Pershings Army band is fantastic!! And free but need tickets ahead.
Extremely helpful for researching genealogy records. For Centre County, Pennsylvania, I found a duplicate record of the missing (burned) 1890 Federal Census data. It provided missing links that helped me trace ancestors to 1795.
