My husband and I had a great time

This was my first time going to a comedy club and the place didnt disappoint. 90% of the comedians were funny, even for a Wednesday night. It was just a hassle getting drinks since the place is kinda small and you kinda have to bother people watching to get them.It was just a lil bit weird looking for it. We asked the bouncer of the bar where it was located and even he didnt know where it was until we saw the small poster on the glass window.

The show was really good, even if the place looked a little dingy. You have to get into the bar first, and the show is underground. But its well worth it. Dont plan to eat though - theres not really tables down there. And arrive a little early to snatch seats!

It was cool. It was a little hard to eat food because there is only a bar and no tables in the comedy area. But I definitely recommend it. Good laughs.

Went for what we thought was an open mic comedy night and it turns out Patton Oswalt came out to do a special set! Had a great time!

Cozy place. Drew Michaels put on quite a show for us. If that’s par for the comedians they pull in I’m down for monthly visits. ‘Twas a swell time.

Way funnier that expected. I went on a night it was free. Only downside of that is an awful unappreciative audience. The stand up was great though.

Ive gone to comedy nights so many times since moving to the area. Its a great way to get out and enjoy the evening, but the best part is the opportunity to meet so many people. I had the joy of meeting Pearl Rose this past week and shes literally amazing!! I cant wait to come back and see her again!

We were out at Big Hunt last week and had a great time. Love the basement set up. We watched about 10 comedians. My buddies and I all agreed Pearl Rose was the ABSOLUTE BEST hands down. She most definitely needs to be show cased in the very near future! Love that Underground is providing a platform for comedians and comedy fans. Keep up the good work! Do yourself a favor and SHOW CASE Pearl!!

The management may not consider this review fair, because it is not based on the comedy, the food, the drinks or atmosphere in the venue.So why?Because it is not based on the comedy, the food, the drinks or atmosphere in the venue; we could not go in.Two people in our party were 17 and they are over 21 place.This should have been more transparent when I paid for the tickets online (I did find it later in the fine print).What really hurt was one of the guests was from the Czech Republic and there will not be another opportunity for her to see comedy in the US. She is leaving.

Always a good time! You should definitely get there at least 20 minutes early because it gets pretty packed

Love the comedy, and I ESPECIALLY love seeing Pearl Rose. SO witty and hilarious. Easily the best act Ive seen in a long long time. Cant wait to see much much more of her - give that girl more stage time!!

It was really funny great bartender and was all round just a blast.

What a great show! Small place, great vibe. The only issue is that they have...THE WORST CHAIRS OF ALL TIMEI was there with 10 guys as part of a weekend trip. We were all squirming/adjusting in our seats constantly due to discomfort. Comedians and staff were great.

Big Hunt is super fun as is all of underground comedy but Pearl Rose is the absolute BEST!!! Seriously obsessed with her and will go to any show that she’s performing at. One of the funniest ppl I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing onstage and also meeting in real life. You’d be doing the comedy scene a disservice if you don’t give her the stage time she deserves.

Surprising good comics! Didn’t know what to expect but ended up laughing my butt off. And it was a good variety too — different types of comics with different styles and topics. Would go back for sure

I went to this establishment when it was free on comedy night. They had a long list of comedians. All were funny except one. Great entertainment. The show was from 8-10pm. Me and my date were late because of the parking situation. We arrived around 8:20pm. The actual place is a bar and the basement is where they had the comedy show. Although we arrived late there were still plenty of seats available. The seating was about half full but there were many people sitting at the bar instead of around the stage. I got a few drinks sat down and had a wonderful time. Im planning to go back on a paid night with known actors to see how it is, if anything changes Ill update this review.After the show was over (it ended at 10:30) we went upstairs to the bar and had something to eat and drink. Menu was limited but thats not a negative, its a bar, thats what youd expect. I was shocked to see some salad selections on the menu. Place was great overall, I enjoyed it and I recommend it to anyone looking for free things to do in DC.

Small basement venue that offers sitting and standing room. Cheap drinks, pretty good acts as well. Recommend getting there early so you dont have to stand.

I love the big hunt. My friend performs here every once in a while. Wednesday nights is open mic so they offer free shows and they have some very good comedians. Its always a good time full of laughs. They have the bar downstairs right by the stage so its easy to get drinks and not miss anything.

Basically listened to a comedy podcast because I couldnt see the stage due to how packed the room was - but it was worth it. Also, the bartender was amazing.

Great evening with family. Being from the south, it was so cool when I realized we were so close to the white house. The comics where good. Tiny place downstairs, cozy. We had burgers and onion rings with drinks. Would definitely go again when we visit again.

I met the owner of this club, Pearl Rose, and she was such a sweetheart and so funny! Everyone should come here to support her and the other talented comedians!! Also mozz sticks and fries!

Interesting people, unique decor, and skeeball up stairs... that plus beer makes for a good night. The stand up comedy platform in the basement is an intimate setting but get there early the place fills up!

So I am from NYC came out to visit and paid for the show. The fact that this place is going to charge ppl to stand is ridiculous. If you wanna be jam packed next to 27 other ppl for an hr go ahead. But I am from NYC where the venues sell out because they can’t seat anyone else. Just a greedy owner, only reason to charge ppl to stand smh. Comedy was good, nothing against the comics.

Their free comedy shows are great, and most of the comics are pretty funny.Some sets bomb but thats half the fun of going to a small show like theirs. I dont recommend going more than once or twice, as a lot of the sets are identical.

Great atmosphere, very tight seating so make sure to get there early. Cool spot for open mic or featured preformances. Be sure to get here early to guarantee yourself a spot. There is also a really cool bar downstairs so you dont have to miss a moment of the action! Drinks were great!

Excellent under ground spot for comedy

Its hard not to love this place! There were some hilarious people here on a Friday night, and we were lucky enough to see Kyle Berseth, an LA comic who happened to be in town. Its an intimate atmosphere, without a ton of seats, but thats part of the fun. There is a full bar there convenient located just off stage. Whether youre in from out of town or a local, this is a must-do if you like stand-up.

Solid comedy at reasonable prices. Weeknights are the free shows and can be quite hit or miss. The comics are mostly local and put a lot of effort into their craft. I could definitely see a few of them getting to the next level. On Fridays and Saturdays, they bring in headliners and tickets are $20. At Big Hunt, the shows are in the basement, which isnt the greatest venue. Its small and really cramped, but the beer is good and cheap so it works out. At Bier Baron, they have a nice large stage and an enormous beer selection. Look out for the $2 beer specials on Tuesday evenings during the comedy show.

Was there Friday night September 21st building leaves much to desire but the entertainment was first rate and reasonably priced with no minimum drink order as usual in a comedy club I believe the headliners name was Sean Doherty and he was hilarious

They do a great job of bring good young comics to DC. Good seats are limited, so buy tickets in advance and try to be early.

Hilarious...stayed for both the 10pm show and the late night free one. Great comics. Great flow. Nice short sets leaving you with wanting more.

Great happy hour prices on pretty good beer. Its got a fun kind of run down old-timey charm to it but I wouldnt say its romantic.

The comedy shows were pleasantly awkward and hilarious, great date spot and be sure to sit in the front. It was free comedy when I went, so what more can you ask for?

Seating was bad. I got there 30 minutes early but still had a seat on the corner with a blocked view of the stage. The setup was not the same as what is pictured so they must have changed it to accommodate more people. BAD IDEA!! So I left and didnt get to see the comedian performed which sucked!

How is this the first review? This club is the best deal in DC. $10 each.3 talented, halarious comedians, great bar selections. It might be every Friday night for me. My family is moving to out of the area but this will be a must everytime we come to visit .
