Been going here since i was a little boy. My little boy loves this park. Playground is awesome and never crowded.
This is a beautiful spot very close to the city. Its usually very easy to park here and walk along the marshy/rocky coast with Its mini arboretum adjacent to a playground.Lots of beautiful views of Patuxent Village Harbor and across to the east bay.The park has a jetty/path that extends out to two barrier islands which seem to draw a lot of people fishing and theres also lots of birds that nest in the area. Tons of swans in particular.Great spot to easily get to the oceanside for a hike or just to get outdoors in a beautiful spot. Not a beach/no swimming.
One of the more interesting parks I’ve been to in RI, Salter Grove is a great place to explore. Near the parking lot, there is a playground for kids, a sign commemorating the Gaspee Affair (an obscure but fascinating piece of US history), and a short trail through the woods and towards the shore. If go the other direction, however, you will come to a trail that’s surrounded on both sides by the bay. This will lead you to a rock pathway that goes both north and south. Following the pathway south will take you to Rock Island, where you can find some cool graffiti and beautiful views of the bay. It can get pretty wet there, so make sure to bring boots. Overall, Slater Grove is a nice park on the bay with a lot of cool graffiti, definitely worth a visit, particularly in the summer.
Love it, grew up going there,I know bring grandchildren!! Awesome playground, picnic tables and park benches!! Gorgeous scenery!!
I started at two stars but put it to three. Not the parks bad just not my thing. It is clean and not crowded. I prefer traditional beaches and Im not a fan of the woods.
Great little park on the water. Lots of improvements on the paths out to the rock islands recently!
I love this place! Always go fishing there.. I just wish people would care about the ocean and nature and clean after them self.
Playground for the kids. Access to the breakwater. Good bay views.
Its a beautiful place to park and have lunch break.
My friend and I wanted a quiet place to watch a few episodes of Legacies
Gorgeous place. You will need to do some climbing though, so be prepared
Nice place to fish or picnic.
I adore this place and the scenery is amazing
Loves sitting in the rocks with my wife. Feeding the birds and ducks
It changed for the better in a beautiful location
I live. right across the street could start a blog..
Its a beautiful little space that opens out to the bay area.Theres not really anyplace to sit, but I would say its a romantic kinda place to take a special someone. Or even to cheer up a friend .
Good place to fish and walk
Nice neighborhood park with view of the bay.
Really came out nice
Street to parking is one way and the lot is small. The walkway to storm barrier is precarious as it is covered with small stones, then theres a climb over boulders to the top which is not level. The view however is worth the walk. The playground in the front is very nice. Theres a picnic table for lunches, etc.,but we were there in late September so not how hot it would be in the summer.
This is nice quiet spot in the morning for me enjoying Gods creation.
On a clear sunny day there isnt a place with more beauty.
Quiet place to anchor for the day.
A big mole, good for a walk.
Surprisingly beautiful little park. Be sure to take the walkway out to the breakwater. When I went there in late afternoon there were over 20 swans and lots of geese.
Brand new playground equipment makes me wish I was a kid again, great place for a ramble in the woods or a walk out onto the jetty and peninsula.
We spread my mother ashes at this park I visit twice a year
Picturesque, peaceful and great panoramic view of narragansett bay
Fishing is great over here, walk along the rocks path is nice, and portal party bathroom are available. Parking is available too
Tiny but peaceful. Can tell its a hangout spot for teens at night (beer bottles, graffiti on the rocks, etc). Nice view of Pawtuxet Village.
We take my granddaughter to this park
I saw a 3 deer family here recently.Awesome park. Very well kept.Casted a few lines just to pass the time. A quaint spot to mark on your map for a break or some fresh air.
Hike out to the breakwater on the newly renovated path. Parking can fill up on weekends.
Its good to get out and get some exercise its not 100% flat walking with kind of rugged
Pay attention to the tide.
I love it here
Very cute park. Someone went though the trouble to leslie the plants which is really cool!!
It is very nice quiet and piece ful, you can also go fishing
Not bad for fishing and hiking a little bit. Has some decent views.
The best part of this park is its accessibility from the city and the versatility that the park has in terms of sheer adventure. A small trail system is available for hiking during high- and low-tide. Low tide gives you access to more of the park, including the jetty and islands. There is a jetty perfect for rock hopping and getting a ways away from solid land to watch the gentle waves of the Upper Narragansett Bay. Fishers will be enjoying different spots frequently, but only during low tide, as the high tide often blocks people from accessing the jetty.Parking is available near a playground, where in the Summer a portapotty will also be. Just be aware of the various park attendees might be visiting the park for bird watching, science measuring, fishing, exercising, being outside, or taking naps in cars because people are retired and they dont care whats going on.Occasionally there will be the awkward teenager/young adult hanging out waiting for something to do, but generally the park goers are friendly when needed and respectful otherwise.Be aware that high tide comes fast, people have had to call the Warwick Fire Department to get rescued because the water comes up fast and blocks people from getting back onto dry land.Bring your fishing rod, your camera, your kayak, or whatever. It is a subtle park with a lot to offer that deserves our respect.
Nice walk. Worth the effort!
Great place for walking .relaxing .seating .To appreciate the beauty of the nature.
This is a great little park to spend some time at if you want an east walk on the water.
I dont remember coming here it must have been somewhere I travel through Was out on the motorcycle if I was there it was a great ride that day
Small park near Narragansett Bay. Fun for supervised little kids.

Beautiful hidden gem near the Cranston/Warwick line.
Quiet, serene. Not too many people go.

Not bad place to relax and just take in the view
Its a hidden treasure spot. Quiet, and the view is GREAT. Take a walk

Used to be way better back in the 90s.
Beautiful place nice nature country like scenery, to get a break from the city life.
Nice place took a special someone here
Beautiful slight brisking walk
Look so quiet
Seems to be a quiet little park that is surrouded by water. Did some Save the Bay volunteer work there...
Always walk along the rocks and look out, been here countless times to just pause and breathe
Beautiful spot to enjoy the Bay.
Free limited parking. No sand, no beach. Good to sit on rocks and watch calm lake type water.
Just a quick visit there.
Beautiful
Serene small waterside..good place for quite nature time or kayaking
Great place to bring kids to collect shells. Also a nice place to swim, boat, wind surf, or just to kick back and enjoy the great views.
Peaceful saltwater fishing
Beautiful place to rest, enjoy the view and see a unbelievable sunset.
Breathtaking the sight a very cool breeze love the wheater in September there. Totally recommend it if you want to take photos or want a peaceful place to think.
Beautiful view of the sunset!
Beautiful park right on the water with a stone breakwater you can walk out on
Its been over twenty years and the only thing that changed was the parking area. Watch out for that sick looking raccoon .
Limited parking means your time will be more exclusive
A peaceful spot but limited parking. It is a nice quick walk.
