Good low key hike with an interesting beginning. There is a very high incline hill up depending on the path you take. It eventually evens out and got a decent view on top. Went here on a weekday afternoon and it was not crowded
Come for the sweeping view of the Boston skyline from atop the hill, but stay for the idyllic hiking/walking trails through the forest. There are paths over dirt and over paved road. Consulting the trail map at the entrances or online (Waltham Land Trust) is useful because the park is larger than it looks.
A great park for an refreshing walk.Choose paved road or forest path to the scenic view at the top of the hill. And probably you have a chance to meet that scary Boston Dynamic robot on your way
Nice overlook on Boston. Easy to reach by car with the option to take a nature trail to get there
Well maintained trail with plenty of spots to bbq or rest. There are Porter potties in a few locations. Beautiful views, and relatively easy to hike. Option to drive up as well. The trail is nice and quiet in the morning, but does get pretty busy on some weekend after noons.
Great park for family or friends for easy to moderate hikes, or just drive your car to the end of the road and enjoy an incredible view of Waltham and the city 9f Boston. Alot of stops and benches for picnics.
I love the area but why have bathrooms if you are going to keep them locked?
Very beautiful and scenic, I totally recommend hiking the trails here.
Excellent place to watch the sun rise over Boston. That early in the morning the gate is still closed, so you have to walk from the parking lot to the lookout.
It is beautiful place and good for having some fresh air.
Amazing trail. Beautiful view of scenic spot on top of the cliff. We went with our kids just loved the view.
Highly trafficked but relatively easy trail but no trail markers which makes staying on the trail a bit difficult.
Small hiking spot, good for beginner hikers, great views at the top
Lovely place to hike and bring a picnic! There are restrooms on the property and picnic tables.
Amazing place to hangout for the day gates close at 7 tho. Other than that they dont allow you to grill food which is a bummer but awesome place to campout for the day!
Nice walk! Well paved trails feels like youve gotten way out of town when its actually very close
Great view of Boston at the top! This park used to be a ski area back in the day so there are some steep paths going directly up from the green buildings. Great views in the winter, better views and more to do in the summer. Not far from the highway as well!
Great small local hike. Many different trails, all are easy and suitable for beginners and people of all ages
Nice place for walking around.
Great place for a challenging walk. Friendly people. Dogs on leash. We stick to the paved road, but have walked the trails in the past.
Great hiking trails and excellent view of Boston and surrounding area.
Small, Easy and quick hike for a beautiful city view. Amazing pump up to start your day!
If youre living around Waltham, there really arent many peaks to climb other than Prospect Hill Park. Great for families and really anyone who doesnt want to make the hike to either Blue Hill or out of state.
Nice view of Boston. Able to drive close to scenic view
Very nice walk. I would recommend sneakers.
There are restrooms at the base of the park. As you ascend the hill there are various picnic sites with grilles for charcoal, parking and trees ideal for pitching a hammock for some kicked back serenity. What I really like is that the area is neat and well patrolled.
Beautiful well kept retreat. Great for trekking. Great view of Boston.
Nice workout, went counterclockwise which was tougher supposedly. Next time I will go up the right way and consider investing in poles as everyone had for the trip up, I saw descending. I like this because its something you could do every weekend and get better and better, its less than 2 hrs and closer than Blue Hills from Watertown, with a better views.
Happy place
My favorite place to come enjoy nature
Great park for a weekend stroll in the woods!
Nicely removed from the city.
Cars drive too fast up and down the hill
The view was stunning and the trails were not that hard to walk on
During this time of social distancing it was very nice and relaxing to walk through the park on a beautiful day and enjoy nature
Nice place to go for a walk, especially if you are staying in the nearby hotels
Great, local hiking. You can get lost in the park for an afternoon, its actually quite big.
We hiked up the hill to find two huge water structures, and a few dilapidated sheds. Probably more fun in warmer weather when pool and other things are open
Love the view . and this beautiful deer
A fabulous view once you reach the top. Well worth the hike up!
Nice place to trek
Nice walk up to two look outs with good views of the Boston skyline. Parking was free and easy, and there were portable bathrooms in case there was need. It was a great walk for all age levels with smooth pavement. Keep in mind that during the colder months, the path is coated in leaves, snow, etc as there is no upkeep/cleaning of the path like in the summer. Strollers can definitely do this walk from top to bottom no problem!
Very good place to go but its have some trash in some spot.
Really nice place if you want to go away from the noises of the city. Really quiet and clean. Also it has some awesome views which Im sure you will enjoy and love
Odd assortment of trails and scenes, but close by and generally clean. Overlook getting overgrown, but scenic.
Lovely place for a walk
Great park for strolls and runs. Low car traffic
Great get together with the family
Interesting experimental post WW2 radio tower on top of Big Prospect hill right next to an old Civil War encampment.
Good place
Beautiful unspoiled place in Waltham. Amazing views. You can see the Boston skyline in the distance.
The park is natural beauty! And serene place to go for one day outing.it has beautiful sunset view and also best places to sit and enjoy the peace of the place. It is between the city but looks life far away from city.
Wonderful views and plenty of interconnected trails! Plus we saw this guy!
Great views and hiking smack dab in Waltham. Great if you want to do some hill training or want a casual picnic. Prospect Hill is an asset to Walthams community.
A great and easily accessible place to hike, run, walk, and enjoy some fabulous views. The run up the road from the parking lot to the summit is about a mile, straight up, and you get rewarded with a vista of the Cambridge Reservoir. Keep going to see the old radar tower and the two summits. Continue down to the other side and 117 if youd like. The opening of Border Road lets runners do a full loop of 4.75 miles or so.
Awesome place but they took away the grills
Beautiful, tranquil park...nice hiking trails, places to picnic
I took my Granddaughter on her first hike: She held my hand every time she was worried about falling!! Awesome!!
Amazing park! Great scenery and views from the top. Good to come here for picnics, bbqs, or even for exersice!
Nice view and good place for camping with friends
Easy to get to. Close to Rt 128, but quiet anyway. Pleasant.
Back in the 70s I skied here,it had a very steep hill with a small vertical drop and an old T bar to get you to the top.Today its just a really nice city Park with great views of the surrounding hills and the distant Boston skyline!
Secluded park with a small kids park and facilities. Can rent picnic tables by applying for a permit online or in person. Can walk or drive up on the paved road to a scenic overlook. Tall majestic trees quite and calming. Also saw a sign for mini golf.
Love the view
Huge park with tons of diff trails. Good for hiking, dogwalking, cookouts, or just exploring. The highest point Boston Rock has got some amazing views. (Great for 4th of July!) On a clear day, multiple cities can be seen, but its quite a hike to get up there
Nice spot for a hike in Waltham.
A great park with hiking trails of all difficulties
Best place to walk in Waltham if you want a steep hill. Lots of dogs
We went in the wrong season so there wasnt much to see or explore. Waiting for Summer to go visit this place again
Big park for city living! Good exercise getting up the hill. Didnt have time to explore it all but my doggie enjoyed the walk!
Park with some good walking trails.
Great for a short hike, which has a very nice view
Very nice place to take a moderately easy hike. Nice view of the Boston skyline.
Such a treasure to have this beautiful spot in the woods so close by. We love our early morning hikes before shopping at Market Basket!
Best workout and view
Nice park with excellent walks. The views in winter must be great when the foliage has died back
Walking companion got a tick in these woods!
Scenic overlook is dope
Nice place in the city to get in touch with Nature. If you go all the way to the top you can see the Boston skyline.
It wasnt as well maintained for this visit than previous ones. Some concerning standing water and more mosquitos than other parks. Still a very nice walk.
Beautiful view of the city!
A real gem of green space with a great view of the Boston skyline.
Great view of Boston from the top. A solid uphill hike if you park at the bottom, but you can drive though most of the park.
Great view of downtown Boston!
It is a nice park for running. Also a small playground for children and minuture golf course for children in season.
Wonderful place to walk, very quiet here and clean!! Beautiful views
Wonderful and clean area to spend time with you family
Nice trails through the woods, good views from the tops of the hills.
Clean bathrooms, neat park
Beautiful view of Boston and vicinities.
