This is one of my favorite parks to visit. The estate is absolutely gorgeous. Be careful with the parking lot - there is a big hole where the road meets the lot.

The trails are not marked very well. We were 1st time visitors and we voted a couple of times on which way to go. We really did not get lost.

Perfect summer retreat and unofficial dog run place. Be prepared to leash your dog if someone complains, but that is rare. The house can be toured and is a great example of weird 19th century architecture.

Awesome trails for walking, biking. Responsible off leash dog community. Vernal pools. Large enough to feel lost in nature but small enough to pop in for a quick. escape. Large parking lot, benches and fields at the adjoining Paine estate.

It is need of a lot of updating and work. The paths are not well marked, nor are they maintained.

Would be great except for many large dogs roaming off leash. Dog owners had an edge. Trying to turn it into a dog park, I guess. Big sign about leashing dogs in parking lot. Ignored.

A beautiful house that must have been very grand in its day. It has the most incredible staircase. I would like to revisit in warmer weather and see the grounds next time.

We had our wedding there 10 years ago and we go back every anniversary to picnic on the lawn, play Frisbee, and walk the trails. A very pretty spot for an outing.

This beautiful estate holds an architectural treasure that stands out from other guilded age extravagance by being the product of prosperity, artistic and thoughtful design, and craftsmanship instead of the opulent but shallow temples to materialism found in other historic mansions. Rather than simply being a product of its time, it sets conventions of value for then next century. The museum is small, but well worth the low price of admission for any history or architecture buff, and the grounds form an expansive natural park that is pleasant to explore. Dogs are very welcome.
