Pioneer Park is a cool local Walla Walla park! The best part is the Aviary. They have tons of exotic birds available to watch, including a large pond area. Birds include peacocks, swans, and other birds I dont know the names of! Theres also plenty of playground equipment for kids and walking trails. The giant trees, bushes, and grass also add to the atmosphere of this amazing park
Great place to visit. Lots of outdoor space. Even has a bird park that is a reserve for rare type of birds. Lots of bronze statues, gazebo, and picnic areas. Lots of grassy space and playground for kids to play on.
Pioneer Park is lovely. Over these past several months, Ive been using it as a place to meet with a small group of friends. It provides enough space for us to visit, but be properly social distanced.
Great park to go walking in and visiting the avery to watch the birds. The pay ground is a fun place to watch the kids play its in the hot weather and plastic toys can burn the kids legs and hands. The park has plenty of space for parking. Restrooms are clean. Clean environment. Plenty room to walk.
Absolutely gorgeous! The trees are huge and beautiful. They like warm hugs.
The local Lions Club maintains a bird sanctuary. You can see a tortoise, peacocks, pheasants, doves, ducks, and geese from around the world. Its a beautiful place.
BEAUTIFUL park to play, relax, have gathering or, as we did, take wedding photos for my son and new daughter in law. Played here as a kid visiting gramps and granny - it has been greatly improved since then.
Great park to take the kids!I have a newborn 18 month old and an 8 year old. This park is by far our favorite in town.
Very relaxing atmosphere, plenty to see and do for all ages. And a wonderful water feature to walk around and see water fowl.
Beautiful, well kept, large old trees, and a fantastic aviary and duck ponds. Enjoyable family place to take a walk or have a picnic.
This park is truly beautiful. It is clean, very well maintained, and has walking paths that take visitors from one area to another. The park has a large variety of trees. It has nine trees that are the largest of their kind in Washington state. There are other trees that may not be found anywhere else in the state. There is a spring that feeds a pond and creek that flows from the park. There is resident waterfowl around the pond. The park is also home to a variety of squirrels. Pioneer park in Walla Walla is an example of what other parks in Washington state ought to strive to be like. There are few parks in Washington as nice as Walla Wallas Pioneer park.
At this time if year the roses were nice and the birds were beautiful. Beautiful walk as well.
Los of open space which is great for picnics, playground for kids, path for walking or checking out the aviary
Our hometown city park. Very green, good open areas, aviary, pond & wild ducks and geese. Well established.
Great place for a picnic and great place to walk in the park. Clean environment and the avery in the park has beautiful birds in it to look at. Park is clean and the play area in the park is in the hot sun and the kids can burn themselves playing on it.
Very pleasant and relaxing. Love the duck pond and aviary. Plenty of parking.
The trees are nice, the parking is easy, and the flowers were well kept. It was a great spot for a picnic away from people during these covid times.
Nice CLEAN community park. Old school all ages, teens to grans with gran kids. Do not miss the birds in the aviary! Beautful! So fun to find a world of exotic birds in WW.
Beautiful and peaceful. The bird aviary is so amazing as well.
Great park. Ample room. Pond, Aviary. Very nicely kept.
Pioneer Park is an absolutely stunning place. I love it here.
Very pretty park, it has an aviary, duck ponds, and SQUIRRELS! Lots of nice grass and shade.
This park is beautiful! What a lovely little paradise. We drove from Tri Cities to pick up a new little furry companion and stopped by this park to meet him and wear him down before the drive back. The park is very quiet, wonderful pathways, a nice jungle gym for the kids, beautiful duck pond to sit by. Very green and very quiet. We didnt even make it to the other side. Would definitely return.
I live for coming to this park and feeding the squirrels, looking at all the cool birds in the aviary and walking along the pretty little pond. I grew up coming to this park. Its one of the most sanctuary like parks Ive ever been to
It was nice. My first time in the park. Had no idea there were ponds. Lol.
This is a very beautiful, open, and relaxing park! The sycamore trees are humongous, giving lots of cool shade.Definitely enjoyed looking at the variety of birds displayed at the aviary. Even if you are not a bird watcher (I am not) there are still some nice looking birds to discover (including black swans!).Decent playground with an amusing statue of the pioneers.
Very nicely shaded park with lots of open grass areas with many large trees. This does mean its not the optimal park for a full size game of soccer, but a popup game of volleyball would do just fine. Additionally, this park has a couple of large ponds in it as well as the aviary park, which has some beautiful birds in enclosures to view.
Excellent place to hangout with friends family and enjoy a nice day.
Beautiful park and so peaceful. Very well taken care of and green.
A very lovely park . Just with all parks, be careful where you step and who is near you .... we want to keep our little ones safe always.
Nice playground. Aviary is fun to walk around and look at the birds and turtles. Several paved walking paths. A hill for sledding when snowy. Bathrooms closed in the winter, but porta-potties are available. Lots of open grass, shade, benches, and some picnic tables in certain areas. A couple nice ponds to walk around.
Some good construction going on, especially on the fountain
Cozy sprawling park nestled in between the busy Alder st thoroughfare & a big pond that runs through an estuary with dozens of varieties of birds. Designed by the same architect that gave us Central Park in New York City. Plenty to do: pickleball courts, ping pong tables, trees to climb, shade in the summer! whats not to love!?! Brilliant!
Pioneer Park is one of the best in the city. I love everything about it from its huge trees to the playground with its play equipment for all ages. If that isnt enough for you there is almost a pond to watch the ducks, geese and an aviary to learn something new.
Literally the most beautiful park I have ever seen. I’ve been to Ireland, Italy, Spain, and all over. Love this park. Cool birds too lol
A very special park with amazing trees, and newly renovated aviary. Only drawback is it needs another restroom facility.
Beautiful park with lots of mature trees, playgrounds, gazebo and the best part is an aviary with exotic pheasants and a covered pond with many kinds of ducks, geese, swans and peacocks.
Had a nice time at the park. Music was good. Ice cream and hotdog vendors. Arts and crafts too.
A oerfectly beatiful oark and the bird Aviary is fascinating. Great for familirs
Had a smallbdparty there. It was nice, clean, green and not too crowded!
The aviary is a must see! Very beautiful park with sycamore trees, plenty of space to let the little ones play.
Awesome place with family and friends
Beautiful nature and public viewing of Animal Habit. Kid Friendly Park Toys... Nice to get together Sometimes w Friends or Family... The Park Is Just BEAUTIFUL & Serene...
We fed squirrels and they followed us we really liked the pheasants.
Bring nuts for the squirrels, and ground up corn for the geese! Your day will brighten and your soul will glow! There is an aviary with really interesting bird species!
Beautiful sycamore trees, aviary and playground. ️ and ️
Great open space, probably the most enjoyable park in Walla Walla. The aviary is iconic and very fun. Peacocks screeching and all. Used to live across from the aviary. Its a very clean area, and they even took out the duck pellet feeding cannons to keep it cleaner. The only complaint is there seems to be an abandoned eating area with decrepit tables. Also, the playground was a fun area to visit even as an adult, haha. Plus, theres tennis courts.
I have been visiting this park since I was a toddler. This is definitely one of the must see places in Walla Walla. If you need a quiet lunch break or need somewhere to take the kids to be entertained then head to this park. There is a huge aviary with a ton of different types of birds to admire and learn about. This park is the size of a City block and has been a gem of Walla Walla for decades!
We love pioneer park!
We love Pioneer Park! We have traveled all over the country and it’s one of our favorites! The trees are so beautiful and old and the whole park is so well designed and maintained
Nice little quiet park
Always one of my favorite parks to visit! We come at least once every year! The updated bird sanctuary is always great to view the variety of ducks and birds! You can even hand feed some of the squirrels which is neat. Lots of shade here so its nice even in hot temps. Overall a great park to visit!
We drove over from Clarkston to enjoy the birds at this park. We had the good luck to meet Becky, a dedicated employee, who showed us the special birds inside the pond area. She was very knowledgeableabout the different ducks. My favorite are the Mandarin ducks with their really dramatic feather colors. The peacock was impressive, but the pure white peahen was really special. Becky made our visit one to remember. Thank you for a great time in your beautiful park.
I do like the park, and the birds. Tried to play tennis on the Pickleball court we had fun though. Nice to see Trees and Green!
Beautiful park, perfect for our picnic
Love this place! Been going since I was a baby.
This is a great place. We went to the aviary and it was spectacular. So many different types of birds!
Lots of history to this park. So much to do and see. Remembered the aviary from my childhood, and it seems much nicer now.
Absolutely beautiful!
Nice and comfortable park to walk around. They even have a little mini zoo there to look at animals.
Clean and well maintained!
This is a great park for walking, jogging, its exploring. Various times throughout the year there are festivals in the park with mystic, activities, food, and stalls selling things. The kids play area is nice. My favorite part of all is the aviary!
Best park ever!
Beautiful park lots of shade.
Good family fun
Beautiful park with a duck pond. It also has an aviary with other birds. A huge playground for kids to play. We love to walk around the park taking in the scenery and looking for walla walla rocks!
Nice place to come here
Lovely, well-maintained park with majestic old trees, beautiful flowers, interesting sculptures, and a fountain. Public restrooms, bandstand, childrens play area, and a protected area to see swans and others birds. Garden facility available to rent.
Had fun with my boys they played at the park then we walked around the pond to the Aviary they loved it
Got ping pong tables there now. Pretty fun to play pong in the park.
Lots to do and great paths to walk.
I love walking through here- although I do remember a time there were more birds in the aviary, theres still plenty of them left to feed... Its nice to just sit back and watch others play Frisbee or ride bikes while you eat lunch with the squirrels...
Was very nice restrooms were clean. It was hard to see some of the birds thou
First of all its familiar, I have been here before. The gazebo has been here for a millenia. Some of my greatest memories are from here as a child.plenty of birds to see and learn about plenty of birds to feed. We love it all of the ducks and birds all of the pathways to walk the pond there is restrooms and plenty of parking. Last but definitely not the least there are fish in the pond. However we are still curious as to what happened to the branch that was cut down near the gazebo? Oh and sunsets that scape the sky are very beautiful here.
Best part in Walla Walla my kids have enjoyed this park since they were babies which are now basically adults and plan on taking their own kids to this park once they get kids
This park is AWESOME, but for how popular it is, it seriously lacks playground equipment. We avoid it for this reason; although it is BY FAR the most popular within the entire Walla Walla area, the city has invested far too little into having adequate jungle gyms/playground equipment. They really need to add more because theres only one medium-sized ~9 y.o.+ playground and one small 3-9 y.o. playground and on most days its incredibly overcrowded, to the point of being unsafe. The playground in Prescott has one-tenth the traffic and even less population yet it can accommodate more people.
This is one of the most beautiful places in Eastern Washington.
Lots of birds in the aviary, and a good sized play area for the kids.
Good food booths and plenty for kids to play on. Booths well placed and it is a mild day today. Spent a good couple of hours walking around and kids playing in the park.
Great park. Kids area is nice. Bird sanctuary with lots of exotic birds to see thats free to visit. Lots of space to roam around and not feel crowded at all.
Love the playground and feeding the ducks
My grandson enjoys playing on the toys. Two policeman were having lunch and they were so sweet to hand out stickers and let the children see their car and hear the sirens. You never know whats happening at the park.
Quintessential small town park
The park is so big and so well kept, all the birds look healthy and happy, its a nice little space you can come and relax and enjoy nature .
Love this park. Great to walk around, take the kids to play or enjoy looking at all the birds and ducks.
Great place to feed fries to squirrels. And have some peace in the Middle of Walla Walla.
Sweet park, bird aviary, walking paths and pond.
Cute pocket of green in Walla Walla. Great playground and restrooms.
Nice park. Quite a few different things to do for the whole family.
This place is so beautiful. I love the aviary and how beautiful and well kept everything is.
