Beautiful wines and wonderful setting!! Our hostess/server was so knowledgeable and sweet. We liked all the wines, loved 2/5 of them, and bought those two bottles. Doing a wonderful and safe job with Covid precautions. Can’t wait to visit again
Indoor/outdoor seating. Great people watching. Quick service. Rosé was good.
We were seated and 4 other people who were seated and had thier orders taken after me and my husband . We waited for 25 minutes and even making eye contact with as a staff member looked directly at me. We left and I am pretty sure it wasn’t even noticed. We found a lovely place for dinner just off Msin Street called TMACS. Definitely worth walking the extra block for a Venue that was happy to serve us.
It was fine. Staff was fine. Wine was fine. Is that what you want? A fine experience? It could be better.
Vanilla flavor cannot develop in 8 month in red wine. Too many blends, nothing pure. Too high alcool, too much wood.
Good service, tasty wines! Easy online reservation experience.
Good wines. Nice downtown setting.
The wine was okay. The staff were rude and the least engaging from all the wineries we went to this weekend. We ideally have fun conversations at wineries, but the lady there barely told us anything about the wine other than the names and was not friendly. It ruined the experience of tasting so we wont be going back.
Great location right on Main. Cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating options. Interesting art displayed throughout, knowledgeable staff, and great selection of wines at all price points.
Atmosphere and service can greatly affect an experience, and I would say the stuffy (read pretentious) atmosphere, coupled with lackluster service left much to be desired. Wine was okay, but our primary server was terse and provided little information about the wines, even with prompting. While Mark Ryan came highly recommended by other proprietors, I wouldnt recommend this tasting room if youre looking for a laid back and welcoming environment. If youre wanting something purely transactional, go for it.
The Mark Ryan tasting room in Walla Walla is one of the coolest, most unique places I have been in a long time. So...the wine is great too, Dead Horse, The Dissident, we love these, AND their cool names. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and most importantly, FUN! We bought wine, and we will follow the Mark Ryan story in the future.
Great tasting experience. We arrived late in the day on a Friday. There was a large table at the window to the right of the entry and we joined a group of three with our group of four. One of our group went up to the “tasting” counter but before he returned a host stopped at our table and explained the tasting and the available wines. We tried three reds. Delicious! We also purchased and opened a bottle of Dead Horse. This red was over the top with boldness but not too fruity and with heavy ( yet not overpowering) tannins. Mark Ryan is one of my many favorites and consistently offers excellent reds. The Dissident is another red, a Bordeaux style ( I think that is accurate ) blend and well worth the tasting.
The lady pouring the tastes (“there from the beginning” was pretentious and rude. Wine was ok but will not go back because of the employee.
More like a wine bar then a winery but the only wine was Mark Ryan and it was great. Supper fun place with awsome rock art on the wall. Would go again and will for sure enjoy more Mark Ryan wine
Likely my favorite winery from a long weekend wine tasting. The wines were excellent and distinctive, the hosts were engaged and welcoming. It was hard to just walk away with a single bottle and not one (or a few) of each.
Fun tasting room with good tunes! The wine just wasnt what I was expecting, and with an Eola-Amity Pinot, and being from the Willamette valley, the wines were kinda boring.
The highest level of customer service and wine from Carolyn and her staff! Highly recommended!! A+++
My visit to the Walla Walla tasting room was the worst experience Ive had in any winery ever! We were greeted with a glare from the tasting room attendant and served our glasses to begin tasting. She gave us the name of the wine and the details from the tasting notes but wouldnt even look up from her paperwork to discuss anything further on the wines we were tasting. When I asked questions about the vineyards or processing methods I was answered with a curt yes or no only and again she would not look at us or turn away from her computer/register. This went on for the duration of the tasting. When we were almost finished another attendant entered and could tell that something was wrong and began to try to compensate for her partners demeanor. She answered our questions and rang up our purchases and was very professional and pleasant. The wine was fantastic and we bought several bottles but I will never return to that tasting room and I will tell my story to all my friends and family that visit us here for wine tastings.
Fantastic reds and the staff really knew their wines
Beautifully layered wines and affordable tastings. Hands down some of the best wine Ive had in Washington state!!
My favorite place to get wine in W(2)
Very nice staff
