This small, free museum is worth spending 15-20 minutes in. The space is full of creations from artist Gerry Matthews. These pieces are dadaist art so go in knowing you may not understand everything. If you go in with a sense of openness then youll have fun. There are pieces that evoke very strong feelings politically and socially so if youre sensitive to those kinds of things, I would suggest you skip this. Gerry was friendly on the day I went, he was interesting to talk to.
Gerry is a very creative artist & gracious soul. Enjoyed every moment I was there! I will definitely visit his museum again
This is basically a dada art gallery. The artist is very friendly and welcoming. You have to go up a staircase to find this, as its at a 1/2 mainstreet address.
Cant say enough good things about this place! Definitely worth a walkthrough. If you are extremely religious might not be the place for you. Freethinkers this is definitely a spot for you. Eye-opening
Just a weird collection of a perverted old mans garbage sculptures. A few neat old items, but nothing for sale. Most of it is adult-oriented. I guess it could be some fun if you are mostly drunk from hitting all the tasting rooms downtown... but dont bring the kids.
Super weird and surreal. I so want to visit again.
I dont know much about art and nothing of dadaism, surrealism, and absurdism... and at first I was a little creeped out. Even now Im unsure if Gerry Matthews is a genius or should be more heavily medicated. However, my experience with his art has totally changed my perception of life. His art is a celebration of life as it is, a condemnation of life as we expect it to be, and damnation of those who would keep us from thinking about it. I found it a striking exhibition that I cant quit thinking about...and even more so when I realize its smack in the middle of Christianville. Genius and brave.anged
Serious haters. Why does so many of your art pieces have something negative to say about Christians? Buzz kill
What a neat, hidden treasure this place is! This should be a mandatory stop for everyone.
Oddly interesting, but not a place to take children at all.
Perfect to counter the extreme indoctrination of the local community. Bring your kids!
Amazing
Great place and unusual works of art
