Nice place, sand traps are in bad shape, more like concrete traps...but beautiful weather makes for a good day.

Played this morning for the first time, the course was so well laid out and beautiful, gorgeous holes with high risk high reward shots that skilled players could enjoy as well as safer routes for less skilled. Great experience will come again! Club house workers were very polite as well. Well done

So, Honey Bee USED to be a fantastic place to play. Recently, the greens have been covered, absolutely covered with geese poop. Sunday morning, covered in geese poop. You would think that for the amount of money you spend to play here, it would be better maintained.Please clean up the greens. The fairway without a crapload of grass clippings would be nice too.

Way to go cafe. Nailed those amazing Bloody Marys. And the sandwiches were wonderful too.. Sweet course. Thanks Honey Bee.

Read the recent reviews. This place is simultaneously forcing strangers to ride together in a cart (or pay $15 extra) AND saying they can’t maintain their course or have water coolers out because “they want to make sure everyone is safe with covid”. That was my experience as well. You can play literally any other course in the city safely, so don’t go to this one.

Greens were just horrendous, must’ve let the rough go for awhile then mowed it a few days ago, lots of grass clippings...the course maintenance could use some TLC, tee boxes were suspect at best. Not sure if I’d play here again unless the price was lower or the course maintenance was upgraded.

I am a memeber of a nonprofit organization and we do a fundraiser at Honey Bee every year. After today, I’m not sure we will do it again at this particular golf course. The associate that handles payment and carts is SO RUDE!!! He seemed bothered from the moment we walked through the door. And don’t even bother asking for another cart (unless you want to pay $15). We have been doing this fundraiser for years here and we’ve never had an issue, but today might have just ruined it. I will take my business somewhere else.

Tee to green was great, but the greens are still recovering from aeration and summer stress. Overall Id grade the course at a B-

I can only speak to the ODAC swim program that swims at this facility. But overall the facilities for swimming seem very nice and staff seems great!

Great course, very challenging!! Some bunkers were filled with water due to the heavy rains but didnt affect us.

Course was ok overall. Tee boxes were a 4 out of 6, the fairways were well maintained and the rough. The greens need some serious TLC. Ballmarks everywhere.

A few unfortunate things made the day less than perfect. Rain the day before left the course very wet and not accessible by cart. They refused to allow one person with a heart condition to take a cart by himself (out of 19 in our group). We were told to start on hole 10 where the backup was 15 minutes. The greens are good and it looked like the fairways would be really good when they dried out.

Don’t play here if you are concerned about Covid. Making people ride together in a golf cart that didn’t ravel together is not safe. Got a refund and went to a course down the street and got my own cart. I won’t return here.

Course is really good for the money. The staff is pretty awesome and the food is really good. I would recommend you try this course out.

Easily the worst golf course Ive ever played. When we arrived to play a 2-some, the proshop clerk said $40 for 18 holes and I thought that was actually reasonable for 2 people on a relatively small course. Then he said now $40 for you as well. The biggest waste of $80 we have ever spent. The golf pro in the shop said the entire course is in immaculate condition when in reality, there was not a single hole on the course that wasnt in total disrepair. No rakes, no water coolers, geese poop everywhere, the cart path appears to have not been repaired or paved since the course was built (in total disrepair as well), every other sand bunker was a lake, nothing had been raked, no sand on the carts to replace divots, the cart we received had faulty brakes, and terrible customer service to boot. If you are ever in Virginia Beach and want to go golfing, definitely go somewhere else.

Back in September I was visiting the area from south Texas. I played your awesome golf course. I’m about a 20 handicapper so I’m not that good. I was playing hole # 10 and hit my drive onto a bunker on the right on #9 fairway. Not being very good I rode the cart over and pulled my ball out of the sand onto grass to hit my second shot. I was to the right and short of green about 15 yards. I drove up to where the ball was without getting too close to green and finished out the hole. At this point an employee of the course approached and asked in a crude and loud voice “who is driving this cart? I said I was and he proceeded to scold me rudely for during the cartto that area. There was no signage prohibits carts from being in that area. I’m a retired texas state trooper and retired justice of the peace judge. I felt this fellow who appeared to be in his mid twenties is very lacking in people skills. I always adhere to the rules and if I violated them it was not intentional. This young man should learn to respect his elders there’s ways to communicate without being rude. Your course was excellent to bad it’s spoiled by a rude employee.

Poor customer service, poorly kept greens! $40 paid for puddles in bunkers, no rakes, geese poop, no trash bags, no port o johns, no food/beverage carts, no water pitchers. Asked for rain check and attendant had audacity to say they are great greens, and no refund or rain check is available! In fact he said “did you play all 18 holes...at restaurants do you eat the entire dish before complaining”! This type of smug attitude is unacceptable, unappreciated, and disrespectful and will never return and tell all friends to avoid this course!!

Green Fees a bit costly but I should win some $$ today..

Honey Bee was a fantastic choice of venue for my best friends baby shower. The space is open and airy with the focal point of the room being large windows leading out to the golf course. They owner and staff were nothing short of amazing. They helped with set up, took care of clean up, made sure everything went smoothly during the event, and helped fulfill every request we had, whether it be a miscellaneous item we forgot to bring or providing their own equipment for us to use. It was wonderful and we cannot wait to utilize this space again.

A great course in Virginia Beach. Some holes are very challenging. As far as most of the course is going Virginia Beach this one has some pretty decent fairways. It doesnt feel like that youre hitting the ball off of rock hard ground. Staff is wonderful too. I had a shoe blow out on the 9th hole and the pro shop cut me a deal on a new pair.

The course is in pretty good shape for this early in the season. some standing water in the bunker, but we have had a lot of rain so its to be expected. The greens are still a bit sandy, but are rolling true and should bee really nice in about a month. all in all its pretty nice, not sure Id pay $50 on a Saturday morning though...

Slow greens and some burnt spots but other than that it is a good course.

I normally never write reviews. But I made an exception in this case. I gave it two stars because the course is actually good and the other people there and associated with then are awesome. My negative rating is because of the man working the pro shop. As soon as I walk in he stares at me with a look of confusion and disgust (Im wearing an American flag themed banana to keep sweat out of my eyes and the VB Strong shirt I wore to work, where I am a programmer). As I approached the counter he barks, what do you want, with the same look on his face. To play 9, I say. You cant he replied. Umm why not. Womans league is playing today, he said as if I were supposed to know this. I ask if it said that on the site or anywhere. He simply replies well you cant play. Then looked at me like he wanted me to leave. I mentioned writing a review and changes everything and says you can hit the range if you like. Everyone has bad days, but its no excuse to treat people that way. A nice shirt doesnt make you nice Mike.

I had given a review previously that had some negatives and some positives Im here to say they put a ton of work into this course over the winter and its damn near perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bunkers have new sand. The greens are all in great shape. Its my favorite course and I had previously given it 3 stars but while most other courses in tidewater are letting themselves go honeybee is fighting the good fight. 5 stars guys great job on the work over the winter.

Very nice inexpensive golf course. I grew up playing all the local golf courses in the area and this is one of my favorite. Gets pretty wet after some rain but all in all I would definitely recommend this course to anyone, at any skill level. :)

I have only had one lesson with Mike and I am already hitting better than I have in a long time. I am so excited to see what I learn next! Staff is extremely professional. Great experience so far.

Great golf

Traveled down from Pa. and while golfing we had the honor of getting a personal babysitter due to the fact that it took us 3 mins. longer than it should to golf a hole, so we didnt even bother to finish out the course..Greens werent very good and rude staff..Our whole golfing group knows not to go there now.

Greens were slow but looked good. Fairways were a bit thin could use some growth. Bunkers need work.

Love this place. They put together some gorgeous events, and the service is wonderful! Beautiful venue, I definitely recommend booking with Honeybee!

Great course.The staff, from the guy in the pro shop, to the starter, to the guys behind the bar were very courteous, friendly and professional.The course itself was in great shape, the greens perfect despite the heat.This is a thinking golfers course, risk reward holes, yet wide fairways, but with water everywhere, and well placed bunkers.Thoroughly enjoyable round of golf.Recommended.

Starting going here for the proximity to my house, but keep going back for the love of the course. Perfect combo of difficult and fun. They have my favorite opening and finishing holes of any local course.

I just left a 50th birthday celebration, and we had an amazing time. This venue was perfect for dinner and dancing.

Love this course but we played in the rain so the fairways were a bit rough. Im almost certain that in good weather this course would be beautiful. Fun and challenging. One of my go to courses

The wife and I have been taking lessons with Mike. Learning a lot. The course is always clean, staff is friendly.

Course is scenic and challenging. Arrived an hour early but the starter was incredibly rude. Wont repeat due to that alone. Also there was nobody in the clubhouse/bar area when I walked in and waited for a long time. I couldve taken anything I wanted; I took a bottle of water and left $2 in the tip jar.

The golf professional Mike is extremely unprofessional! Hateful attitude, we went to golf half way through golfing it started raining so they gave us a $20 rain check for 9 holes, that was great go to use it and Mike feels the need to degrade me like I’m trying to steal from them. The other guys we golfed with tried to use their rain checks and got the same treatment. Mike you win! We will never be back all 7 of us! We will make sure all our golf friends know about your establishment too.

Course should have been in better shape. Was not impressed.Bathroom was full of water.Guys really-Lawsuit waiting to happen.Struck by ball in head. Friend just seconds before had almost same fate. Called Proshop to advise only one guy on range doing this. Was never asked if needed help etc. Nothing- thats just wrong.Marshall should have paid attention to several groups that didnt have a clue how to properly use a cart.All in all not bad but a few minor slip ups didnt help them on this day.
