This is a nice park with walking trails and recreation areas. Even on a rainy November day we enjoyed our visit.
Really cool park. Kind of a hidden gem. The swimming areas are roped off according to depth and there are plenty of areas to spread out so you can maintain social distancing. Lots of shade or you can bring a pop-up canopy. You can also bring your BBQ or use one of the ones they have there. History tells me to bring my own.Oh yeah, they also have lifeguards on duty during the day and evening. Its actually a pretty nice park.
The Salmon Creek Trail is a flat, easy paved path that stretches about 3 miles. It runs past softball fields and near the creek, as well as a couple ponds. My friends and I have enjoyed spotting herons and turtles in the water, and there are benches along the way for anyone who needs a rest. Some stretches are less protected by shade than others, but its never been an issue for anyone Ive gone with. One thing to note is this is not a loop. If you walk the entire length, youll need to double back, making this more like a 6 mile walk/hike.
Really nice place to go and swim with the family do a little fishing. Play ground onsite life guards on site bathroom etc. Paid parking $3 well worth the money. Highly recommend!!
Trails are well kept. I enjoyed a very nice walk with a friend.
My husband and I came to check this place out after hearing about it through his work. We loved it. It has everything you might want in an outdoor adventure. You can go fishing, take a walk through their paths and trails that follow Salmon Creek, or bring your children to the park to play(which also includes a splash pad), have a bbq, or have a picnic. This is also a great place to bird watch as well. Theres truly something to do for everyone. They do have stocked bathrooms, life vests for borrowing, water fountains, baseball fields, an event area, covered areas for birthday parties, new bbq grills, a pond and lake, (which were just stocked with trout), maps, benches for resting, waste bags for your fur babies, etc. We really had a blast visiting this park! And definitely want to return again soon! The only thing I would say is... I would bring $1 bills and a pen,(for the envelope) for parking. Whether the entry booth is open or not, you have to pay a $3 parking fee. Pictures Of all areas are included!
This is an excellent trail! The only things you might want to plan ahead for - 1) it can be a bit buggy so you may want to avoid dusk if the mosquitoes are out. 2) if there was a lot of recent rainfall parts of the trail may be underwater. Luckily its never very deep and there are often trails around, so just a heads-up! Other than that this is the perfect place for walks, jogs and dogs!
Ive been coming here since the late 80s before they added trails and a sports park, and before it was nearly destroyed by floods in 1996. Its changed a lot. Its a good place to walk the trails, or walk your dog, or take a bike ride. Come in the evening if you really want to get some peace and quiet. You can get some amazing sunsets here, and you can see lots of birds like red wing blackbirds, killdeer, mourning doves, rabbits, and ducks. The trails are really nice. Theres more walking and trails than you think for a smallish place. Theres a very nice park for picnics as well. The pond is good for mostly fishing during Spring and Summer when they stock it. You can swim here, but the water can be gross at times from the birds and fish. They also have the Spring Fishing Derby here in April which is amazing for kids. Yes, they charge you for parking here in the peak months. Overall a nice place to come kick back, swim, fish, picnic, bike, walk your dog, or watch some ball games in the Spring.
Clean and nice. There is a pond with swimming area for kids and adults. Lifeguards are on duty. You need a county parks pass ( not discover pass) or have to pay. Covered porches for group entertainment.
I like it, but dont love it. The location is kind of weird, like you can see and hear the 205 freeway but it is still wild enough that we spotted a mother a baby deer this morning at the park. The playground itself is underwhelming. Its small, theres only two small swings and one baby swing that dont go very high and one small slide.Theres lots of picnic tables but getting one in the shade is difficult. Go early to get a good spot and before crowds come in.I think my biggest gripe is that the splash pad doesnt turn on until 11am! Thats just crazy! Most days, especially if its hot, kids want to be out and playing by 9/10am so this is ridiculous to me. The splash pad itself is not big and cannot accommodate a lot of children so that is also frustrating. The sand area is very small and the water is nice and shallow for quite a ways. We had fun, but it wasnt amazing.
Wow. Honey stop the car . We found our vacation spot. Great little lake with warm water and perfect for kids to splash and swim, fish and go for a walk
Great swimming place for little kids! While in water you walk on soft sand, in very clean water and no garbage nor rocks under feet!
We enjoy coming here quite a bit. The stunning area is nice and there are life guards on duty at certain times. The are lots of great picnic places with shade. You can even reserve a pavilion. The playground is small and the splash pad doesnt always work. The bathrooms are pretty decent and there is a small concessions stand.
Lots of space to spread out. Lifeguard on duty during busy summer months. Really well cared for park.
Great are for swimming, birthday partys or any occasion and hanging out with friends and who knows u might make new friends there too as well.
Awesome! So many rabbit trails to follow...this is gonna be new for a year! And great for skating!!! Distances can be short, long, involved, paved, grassy...sooo many choices!!!
Has everything your kids could want to do! Lake to swim with sand, water spouts, and a playground. We love to come here on hot summer days.
The place was fun and reminded me of a beach but the problem is that the sewer water is being dumped into the pond so a lot of kids get E. coli from the water. Also it is filled with hooks from the annual fishing event please do not go although it was fun it is not safe!
Not as shown online. They dump sewer into this creek but somehow over 150 people seemed to be on it. After reviewing the parks information and seeing it for myself I solely recommend only biking or jogging the trails.
This place is awesome. It seems always safe and the diversity of people here makes everyone feel welcome. Great pond for fishing. There is parts of the pond separated for swimming. There is a small water park and playground.Clean public restrooms. There is a lot of space for people and you can grill. Really cant say enough about this park. $3 dollar parking is well worth it and I am sure it helps keep the park clean and safe.
Nice swimming hole and walking areas. Lifeguards are there in the swimming spot. Love taking my daughter for a small day trip.
It was so much fun. There was a water pad, beach area, playground and plenty of places to have a great time
Its been around for a long long time, with good good, donuts.
Its very beautiful, peaceful, enjoy the water my kids love going there. Even my husband gets in the water with us it reminds me of blue lake in Portland, ore.
Great place. Lifeguards a bonus
Good park to take the family. Not a lot of fish in the pond for those looking to really catch anything
Nice family swimming hole.. Has bathrooms, picnic areas, lifeguards, bbq grills, and only costs $2 to park..
Great place, to walk. Over 3 miles of paved trials! Great for dog walkers, bring the kids, real great place, very beautiful!
Great park for families with younger children... Sand and swallow lake with life guard on-site.
Great trails. Good walking path. Beautiful along the water.
Beautiful park! Plenty for the whole family to do. Splash pad, playground, swimming, fishing, sand, walking trails. Parking was $3 for the whole day..
Lots of parking and several picnic tables are shaded. Really nice splash pad. It would be nice to have more than a couple of swings and more playground equipment. Good sand on the beach.
Nice place in Vancouver especially when its hot in summer. Has shade and trees and swings and water and sprinkle kids equipment and restrooms and place for fishing and party tables and roof.
This is an awesome lake to fish. Make sure to use line that does not spool the fish at max 4 lb. Line leader.
A really great family park. I wish the place had food vendors!
Great place to take the kids fishing. Plenty of stocker trout in the big pond and bass in the small pond
Very Family-Friendly! Picnic areas, swimming, hiking, biking and a great place to fish!
Today my wife and I had a great time walking on the trail, we practiced social distancing, it was sunny and refreshing. Others were also practicing social distancing. Sorry no photos.
Pretty and clean. Great for families. Nice little swimming hole. Good trail for waking. Lots of animals to see. In our times, weve seen swans, deer, otters, ducks, egrets, herons, osprey, bald eagles, and turtles.
We love it here! Cant wait for summer to go back!
Great paved path wide enough for both directions of travel, bikes, walkers and joggers. Path is marked every quarter mile for easy estimate of how far you have gone. Bathrooms (portapotty) on one end, and nice restroom on the other.
Nice place to go with family.
Nice hiking trail . vehicle $3 per day .
End of season swim........great day, baby girl even found frog to play with, baby fish, playground was awesome! Water play is neat addition to the kids area, life jackets available to o borrow and lifeguard still on duty but not for long. Fishing is good and all year round nice park to visit!
Beautiful day lots of wildlife playground sand, perfect day to be there today!
The barbers are friendly and the prices are reasonable.
Super cool spot, bummer that you pay to park ... At a public park, but such is life, had a great time and caught some nice rainbows!
A nice place to swim, play, and fish. There is a fee for parking, $3/car, $2/motorcycle, rvs & buses $8. You can walk or bicycle in for free. Lifeguards on duty during the day most of the summer.
Everything was great the only thing no showers
Beautiful park, trees in fall colors
Very grateful and fun with my family n friends
I really like this place is beautiful I have lots of trails to walkbut the water is polluted I wish the city would do something about it it gets people sick every year
Nice place should go there more often
Not very clean, crowded on a hot day, not supervised very well. But theres not a lot of other options on a hot day in Vancouver.
Love this place! So good for my daughter & I
Family loves it here! Been a staple spot for 7 years now. Nice waking trail, nice ball complex, cute park with multiple nice covered shelters. As a previous life guard I love that they have life jackets out year round for anyone to use.
Great place to walk your dog and see wildlife.
Its a clean and great place to walk the dogs. Lots of birds. Someone even decorated a tree for Christmas.
Really nice park! Fun for kids and good places to set up volleyball nets!
Nice clean park to go swimming or go for a walk
Go early because it gets crowded. Keep in mind that the playground is closed at this time also. They have an almost yearly ecoli outbreak and have to close the pond, so youll want to double check before heading out
Love this park, great location with tons of trail and area for kicking a ball or swimming.
Good place to take the family. Good swimming and life guards on duty. Good picnic benches and plenty of shade.
Lovely paths and playgrounds not to forget the water gathering animals. Nice place to just go for A walk, play pokemon go or just take the kids to the park.
My kids love to see the ducks, play structure, splash pad in the summer, awesome running /biking trail.
Great place to go with kids.
Nice water and sunny not boring it is fun there is a lot of space to do stuff like tag hide in seek and more.
Very nice place to walk along the creek. Nice view of Mount Hood.
Ive been going to Klineline, off and on, since the early 70s. Havent been there in about 15 years, since my kids were younger. The improvements are quite impressive. The pond is beautiful, the park is well maintained with plenty of amenities.Service animals are welcome, there is a trail outside the park for non-service dogs.
Its a great park. Our son had a blast in the swimming area while my wife and I fished. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the lake is overrun with plant life that interferes with the fishing. Overall, bits a great place to spend a summer day.
Great place to go walking or riding a bike. Klineline looks more like a lake than a pond. Recently, the county has been putting up signs along the three mile long trail that have the names of the creeks the trail goes by which I really like. Who knew there was a creek called Suds Creek
Its a wonderful area, I always feel more peaceful when Im walking there, the only downside to it is everyone wanting there freaking house so darn close to the park. It Literally ruins my immersion.
Cutbacks in funding for County Parks have really taken a toll on Klineline. That being said, its still a great place to hang out. The walk from Klineline along Salmon Creek is great. Avoid parking charges by parking in the Vancouver girls softball league parking lot a little South of the entrance to the park.
Great park for cooling on a hot day
Pretty good park, gets over crowded in summer. Water looks ok has some sea weeds floating around . This park is very popular and pretty small for the amount of people who know about it. Needs a bit more careful use from the visitors. But the grass looks great, park is clean, play ground is maintained. We go rafting, swimming, pick nicking, and to play at the playground whole summer. Great place to have a birthday.
Big and open, swimming and fishing.
Great place. Unfortunately Clark County thinks it should outlaw any real water use, by not allowing paddles on the lake? what in the name of Communism is going on here? it is Memorial day for petes sake and Clark County is telling its citizens that it can prohibit them enjoying their lakes with paddle boats?!?!?
Good place to go.
I walk here many times a week and love it. It is kept very natural and there is plenty of nature and wildlife. I would recommend staying on the trail because of nesting birds and animals and fragile plant life.
Nice park, kids ran all over the grass area. Just be careful for the goose poop
Crowded and not socially distancing.
Saw a kid poop in the water, fished it out and used it for bait
Nice swimming for kids
Great place for family to go.
Its a nice very clean park from all the times ive gone here! The kids love the fishing derby thats put on for the kids at the lake.
Cant say enough. Its got a lil of everything for the family. My kids love to swim there. And the nature trails are breathtaking
One of the greatest places in Vancouver, Wa, family can enjoy this park nature beauty.
Nice park. Changed a lot since I was a kid.
Very Nice
Nice, bit the Bald eagles let by the season, till Next spring they come back
Great place- only issue I ever have is with the people that think leash laws don’t apply to them.Which makes it worse when you’re on a bike
Way to many people considering the PANDEMIC.
Never been. So I gave 1 star because the picture look like it would of been a nice place to go. We were in the area driving past.
Great place for family day
We just love this place. Plenty of fun to be had. Good place for the kids to swim and a great place for a bbq.
Its ok but far from the best views around. Trail is 3.1m one direction and is paved and wide.
We had a party there and the rangers drove us to and from our picnic spot with all our party supplies. They are amazing! And only $3 per car!
