Impromptu detour was well worth. Really loved the beautiful roses and zero crowd. Spent an hour in the garden moving between the varieties of Roses. Still there were plenty of Roses yet I think it may have looked better a couple of week earlier.
The flowers are beautiful and the walk through the whole area was gorgeous. Some of the flowers and such have seen better days, but its the end of a pretty low precipitation and hot summer; not exactly a recipe for blooming, what are you going to do? I cant wait to see it come spring when everything is in full force. All the exhibits are well planned out and the variety of plants offered is numerous. I love the bridge, fountains, and art dedications within. Its a lovely place to spend a morning or afternoon.
Visited rose garden Saturday around 10 am. Unfortunately for us, when we got there, there was a crew of people who mowed the lawn. The noise from their equipment continued for over an hour which ruined most of our experience there. Rose garden exists so you can spend time in piece and quiet. I called rose garden office before visiting and asked if end of the September was a good time to visit. I was told that it was the best time. From my experience this fact didnt turn out to be a true fact because half of the rose bushes were out of season and didnt have any flowers, which was very sad. Some beautiful roses here and there, but I would recommend visiting in the Spring vs Fall. Loved the part of the garden with flowers other then roses. Beautiful! Like paradise.
We came in the morning when the dew was still on the roses. Simply stunning. And its FREE. Ended up buying a gift in the store to support their wonderful efforts
This is a beautiful garden and park. A must see for rose and flower lovers. Dont pass on the museum. It is very interesting and well done. Be sure to visit the gift shop, too. Love it....
Beautiful floral display with many different types of roses. There were water fountains and bridges too. Great place for a walk.
This place is so beautiful. My fiance brought me here the first time I had arrived into Tyler. It will always be a Garden of Eden on earth for me personally. The gardens are kept clean and it is so peaceful and quiet.Best to go during the spring season
A gorgeous way to spend a nice morning. Park seemed well maintained. Once it gets a little cooler itll be even better. Woild highly recommend!
Although it was not the height of rose season the garden as a whole is beautifully laid out. With fountains and winding paths to explore there is much to see.My favorite was the inspiration garden, full of old favorites and herbs laid out in a pleasing pattern for up close viewing, and benches, to sit and contemplate the wild beauty. It felt very much like your own private back yard.I was with local friends that promised me that the annual rose show was not to be missed.
DO NOT MISS THIS IF YOU LIVE IN OR VISIT THE AREA. There is no charge to wander the garden, its stunning, acres of flowering roses of all variety, colors, fragrance this time of year, late April. Nice facility inside, rest rooms, gift shop, nice people, its a Tyler City park & the nations largest municipal rose garden (beats that of Portland, Oregon!) There is a small museum dedicated to the annual Rose Festival (since the 1930s) quite amazing regalia, gowns, tiaras. Plenty of parking & located close-in to city center, restaurants, etc.
Enjoyed visiting this Rose Garden even in September isn’t the season for
Its pretty, but Id recommend the Dallas Arboretum. If youre in town its worth a stop. Great place to take pictures. Stay away from the fountains, they were kind of gross. I left with multiple mosquitoe bites.
It was a surprise to see such a big rose garden. But unless you call, you didn’t know it is open all day. The Google map only says the Rose Garden Center opening hours which are limited. we hope it would also state the gardens are always open.
Always a joy! From Roses to bluebirds and Poppies to Irises, this beautiful garden in the city is relaxing and invigorating at the same time! A must go-to!!
Beautiful park with free admission and a nice little museum with cheap admission. If you have a little girl who likes princess dresses and beauty pageants dont skip the museum.
Even with temperature of 102 this garden is beautiful! bring plenty of water and I hope to return in the spring for ALL the glory.
I love the rose garden! I make it a point to visit as much as I can. The souvenir shop is a neat little place to find unique trinkets and gifts for everyone and the museum is full of stunning gowns and tiaras from the rose festivals from years past. The roses outside are a beautiful assortment of colors that really catch your attention and you can tell that the people who work there really enjoy their job. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area!
As a world-renowned rose garden, we were very disappointed. Even though we were there on Labor Day, everything appeared unkempt. Many of the rose bushes were in dire need of pruning (dead-heading). And the grounds needed some TLC. I just chalked it up to COVID & the holiday.
Larger than expected. Relaxing even though not in season and weather was not ideal. Overall great experience!
Smelled beautiful, was a nice walk and enjoyed watching the koi and squirrels
If you love nature. This is the best place in Tyler to bring a picnic basket and walk the garden. Big open space. Great for family photos. My favorite nature friendly walk in Tyler. Best of all. Its free!!
Beautiful garden! So many trees and flowers. Its very relaxing. The inside that is sort of like a museum is interesting too.
Wow! Did not expect how great it was. Wanted to go back. Spend a few hours here and relax in beauty.
Beautiful place to take a long or short visit. Plenty of benches and picnic tables in the shade. Be sure to visit the butterfly garden!
Great free park to walk and see some local plant life. Visitors center is on the grounds too.
Really beautiful garden. There are walking trails through the garden. There are ponds and fountains throughout it. There is a lawn with walkways and rose bushes around it that look sort of like Monticello.
Beautiful place! Absolutely breath taking, nice place to relax and meditate. Most definitely recommend to stop by and take a moment to enjoy the roses.
First of all its FREE to get in, and beautiful venue with sitting areas, gazebos, ponds, plenty of picturesque options. Great for a date or photo session. Has more than just rose, as well.
The roses were in bloom and their scent was in the air (7 May 2019). The garden was beautiful!
Worth your time to stop and use your sense of smell. They have Roses. Lots of them. And very nice trees compliment the gardens. Thank you to the powers that be for allowing us to visit.
Great atmosphere. Nice place to spend some time (and it’s free - but they are happy to accept donations). Visiting when they open is perfect before it gets too hot). Good place to work off a visit to Stanley’s BBQ!
Amazing and beautiful municipal garden. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
What a lovely place to relax and reflect. I went in June and the air literally smelled like roses
The Rose Garden was a beautiful place everybody should need to go see it

Beautiful garden. Wish there were more signs for the plants. Calm and peaceful!
Very beautiful, peaceful and tranquil gardens and gazebos. The Rose Museum was exquisite.
Love, love the garden, have been there during the festival, but wanted to experience it in the summer, lots of flowers, missed major blooms of the roses so will have to go back sooner in the season
Great place to rest a soul and just enjoy nature
Lovely year-round, great place to go during COVID because no concerns about social distancing.
10/10 so beautiful

We love to stop by The Tyler Rose Garden, its always been relaxing and such an uplifting experience to walk through the carefully maintained gardens. I especially love their small garden in the back corner dedicated to herbs, vegetables and low maintenance plants as well, a great place to get ideas for your own yard! Weve also rented out one of the rooms before for an event we were sponsoring and we felt like it was a great price for the quality we received. Its also great place to take pictures.
Great Garden that is well kept year round. The variety of rose types are abundant and the lawn in the center is ideal and appealing for wedding receptions and events.
When the roses are in full bloom, its beautiful and a great 1hr free tour.
The outside is free to roam about the gardens. What an absolute delight! They do have an inexpensive musuem inside but we came to enjoy nature. Amazing photo aoos and there were so many roses still in bloom. This garden is not only full of roses, flowers etc. Its filled with fountains, gazebos, foot bridges & amazing foliage. Many opportunities for photos. Also the visitor center is cute & smells like roses inside & out! Stunning!
Beautiful roses! Gorgeous colors! But the gardener in me wanted to care for the rose bushes, as many needed trimming and care, lots of dead-head flowers. The variety of types of roses was amazing, though!
Beautiful! Well worth the drive for this public venue ️
So happy this place is here! Its free and beautiful to walk your dog or just stroll around. We moved here recently and this is for sure a gem
Really enjoyed ourselves today! Great weather and a beautiful garden! Definitely loving the rose capital of the USA!

Its really too early in the year for a lot of blossoms but there are a few that are out and they look very nice. At this time of the year go for the walk not for the flowers Its cool breezy and pleasant.
Very beautiful and well kept
No roses yet but there are few things blooming.
We were not expecting much due to the time of year. But there were some cesutiful Roses, azaleas, and great fall color.
Great place to walk around and play Pokemon Go with friends.
Absolutely loved every moment here! Beautiful!
Stopped here on the way to Louisiana, if you like roses at all this is a must stop.
Loved it! Smelled so nice like when you first walk in the museum and gift shop. Great place to take a nice walk through. The garden is free to walk through. Pay the $3.50 to go in to the museum to see all the browns, crowns and pictures of past queens. I would of paid more. Well worth it.
Like to come her for the flowers, the beauty and serenity. Occasionally to play Pokemon Go!
Beautiful and peaceful
