It was fun. It was clean for being a play area. No trash anywhere, didnt smell bad. The workers were really nice. Good place to let your kids to burn energy and learn at the same time. All while indoors.
Great place to understand how the REAL world works. Stop taking your kids to church and take them here instead maybe theyll actually learn something for once.
Incredible; lots of stations where the kids can act out real life scenarios. Grocery shopping, newborn hospital nursery, newscasting. Very cool!
Went here for my sons field trip. Came here as a kid when spending summers with granny, lots of great memories and now new ones! Lots to explore for the little ones and plenty of room to chase them. It did get hot with moving around so much and drinks werent allowed in the actual Discovery rooms but were allowed in the hallway and they had a room that had sitting and such for this. Very friendly and helpful staff. This place is definitely a must experience with kids of all ages!
Gor frustrated trying to find parking for the museum. If there is one there is no sign that tells so. For people new to the area, we need to know where is the actual museum parking space.
My granddaughter loves this place. She always has so much fun
It was okay given the price but they do need to make money to stay open. My children loved the walk through exhibit as well as the others on gravity and television/broadcast. This place is definitely appropriate for ages under 10 but you may be pushing it if you go much higher. I definitely recommend trying the vacuum tube machine that simulates hurricane force wind. They also do outdoor stuff as well but thats seasonal.
Great for small children, under 7 but not much for the bigger ones
Hands-on science fun as well as an imaginative role play area. Good for ages up through 12.
This was a really cool facility to visit. They have an awesome make-believe play space for the children that includes the grocery store restaurant bank and childrens hospital where kids can make believe. the science and Discovery site of the museum is also fantastic its a great place to bring your little ones and there is also some fun things for adults to do as they supervise.
Good for kidsLimited admissions because of covid-19
Be aware the staff here is not helpful at all you will be charged double for something you dont want and when you ask them they will make you feel stupid
Making a delivery in the early morning hrs. Aaron & Corey were awesome about us parking in the property & very fast unload.
This museum has a good range of learning and creative activities for children of all ages. We have an 11 year old and a 3 year old and both were entertained for several hours. The only thing I didnt like was that even after paying admission you still had to pay for a few additional things once inside, such as the scale that shows your weight on different planets, the wind tunnel, and the 3d glasses. Other than that, I thought it was worth the money and we would probably go back in a few months.
Every kiddo from pre-k through Middle School should be granted the exciting opportunity to explore just how fun the broad spectrum of science can actually be - and this unique and Interactive learning Playland is undoubtedly one of the best places to do so! That is, of course, if you actually have time 2 see and do everything possible while you are visiting, on any single day! Love it, love it, love it! This place deserves 6 Stars, if only Google Maps would allow it! My eight year old son and I have only been here once, that being merely a few weeks ago at the beginning of January. However, he is not the only one who is more than eager to return! Upon leaving, after hours inside, there were still many things to explore and discoveries to be made! Fun and learning for everyone!
Im a member so Ive taken my kids here like a million times and heres my honest review. From the perspective of an adult some aspects of the place may be a little underwhelming, and there are always lots of things that dont work the way they are supposed to and need to be fixed. But, my kids, (6 and under) absolutely love this place! Its their favorite place to go and makes a great place to take kids to play when the weather isnt suitable for outdoor activities. The place is perfect for younger kids, I cant really say if it would be worthwhile for kids past age 9-10 because I dont have kids that age.Its kinda expensive if youre just going for one visit, but if youre local the way to go is to get a membership and visit often. If you bring your kids here several times a month its well worth the annual membership. I dont think theres a better option for a place to bring your kids to play and learn here in Tyler.
The joy you see in your childrens eyes is definitely worth every penny to visit this place! Restrooms and handicap parking are available. We spend hours going through all the rooms. Exhibits do change out so we see something new every time we go. Summer programs are offered for all ages. Please go and visit, you wont be disappointed!
This was a really fun place for my children! I had two 9 year olds and one 18 month... they stayed until closing time, begging if they could stay. There were literally make believe play stations all through out the place (grocery store, bank, CBS news station, etc.). If you are needing to take your kids somewhere fun, educational and cheap..(for my three including myself I paid 20 dollars)....I would most definitely recommend the discovery science place! Awesome place!
Great place for kids to burn off some energy and learn!
This is a great place to take kids of all ages. They have many fun, educational, and very interactive things to do. They work well for birthday parties for younger kids too.
Clean and so fun. Love taking my kids to learn and play there. They enjoy it so much
My daughter loved it! Awesome dinosaur exhibit. There was a wide variety of different life skills for kids to learn through interaction. They should probably think about replacing the courthouse station with something else as I noticed not one single kid played in it the whole time.
The Tyler Mini Maker Fair was today and there was a great turn out.
Discovery science place is AMAZING. They have all sorts of fun stuff for the kiddos to do. Rock climbing, all sorts of sensory stuff, rooms completely made up for pretend play such as a court room, vets office and bistro. They have birthday party room so you can host an event or birthday party. You are allowed to bring your own cake and food which is always great. Its a great place to learn and play #funforkids #sciencefun
Loud (because of all the children on field trips, which is understandable) but really cool place!
Fun place, and the grandkids had a lot of fun.
Fun place for young kids! My son is 9 and alot of it was geared more towards younger children. He really enjoyed the robotics and the dinosaur cave.
Discovery Science Place is a fun place for children of all ages for a great price! I highly recommend!!!
It was a lot of fun for small kids. The shopping area was a big hit. There were plenty of creative things to do here. It was super busy and crowded. I am sure it stays that way because I can see how it would be fun to little kids. Very family friendly.
The staff was constantly through resetting the various play / learning areas. My four-year-old absolutely loves running around to interact with everything there. We built a couple forts with giant blocks. Next door several kids ran a pretend diner and served us all the pretend food we could eat.Great way to spend several hours.
Super great place for little or big kids! Its not expensive to go, and they offer military discounts also. Gift shop isnt super expensive either. Its fun for parents too! We love this place!
Everytime we go the kiddo has a blast
My husband and I took our two kids ages 3 and 2, plus my brothers ages 8 and 11. They all had a great time and said they would like to go back. It was a little busy, and some parents were letting their older kids run around and act crazy. But all in all we had a great experience and will definitely visit again!
Went there with my son and just had the best time he was 9 at the time and they seemed to have stuff for kids from about 4ish years old to a pre teen then it might get a little childish I guess. We both had a great time and made memories to last! Made a cute stop motion video that I treasure.
It is still fun but could use repairs and update A LOT. The same electronics are still not working, like in the NASA exhibit. While other equipment, have been there since I was a child. The play-clothes look like they need to be cleaned or altogether replaced. I have been coming since I was little. Field trips and with family. And now I bring my own children. Still a great family place, but being in downtown and being so widely known, it would be nice to see it better taken care of. If you are going to charge, it would be nice to play with equipment that do what they are supposed to.
My 13 month old was able to play and have fun for over an hour! Definitely worth it! Look on Groupon for better pricing. However, parking is horribly.
There are numerous activities and plenty opportunities for children to pick-up something positive. I would bring my daughter here more often if I didnt have to spend too much effort in devising an exit strategy!
Fun place for a young childs birthday party. Lots of things to do and lots of things to learn...while having fun!
Love love love this place. A place where they can have fun and learn. And its not pricey at all.
None of the touch screens in the NASA exhibit worked. The trains (main reason for the hour long drive) were tarp-covered, down for maintenance. The Feed the Bear touch screens were broken. Many other features were broken across the whole place. My son had a really good time, but as a parent I was disappointed at the number things he could not fully experience.
My youngest daughter loved it!!! She had her school trip here
At first, our trip was a night mare bc there were 2 schools there, the kids were so wild, and the workers could barley keep up with the chaos (not their fault). We waited it out bc I heard a teacher say the kids only had 30 mins left. After all the kids were gone the experience was so much better. The workers cleaned up everything fast & I saw them sanitizing each little item. NEXT TIME I WILL DEFINITELY MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO FIELD TRIPS PLANNED.
Better than I expected. 3 kids all under 6 years old and we didn’t run out of things to do.
Our kids loved this place during our Tyler Vacation! They can slip into adult roles like being a nurse or a vet for one day and experience science on their own way!!!!
Kids had a great time. Its neat to see them figure things out on their own and interact with other kids. A favorite thing for them is to pan for gems and fossils.
An amazing place to have a Birthday party
Such a great place !!! Brought our 6 year old daughter and she LOVED IT !!! SO DID THE ENTIRE FAMILY!!
We have been at least 3 or 4 times & have tons of fun everytime. My LO favorite exhibit is the grocery store!
Great place to take young kids. We went with a 3 & 2 year old and they both had a great time. All indoors so foul weather is not an issue.
My son loved it. He didnt want to leave. We enjoyed it as well, although there is not really much for the adults to do. However, there is just enough things around to stave off boredom for parents and guardians. I would really like to give it 4.5 stars out of 5, but the google system does not allow it.
This has been a fun place for me since I was 8 and continues to be now I would definitely recommend going here!
We always have a great time! Kids love it!
We all had so much fun.
A little bit smaller, but full of fun. Kids like to enjoy themselves there. Playing the characters and watch the carve of dinosaur.
Great place to take my daughter! She told me 3 times how much she loved this placed!
Want to have an awesome day with the kiddos with hands on learning and lots of fun playtime? Then you should check this place out
Amazing place for kids!!! Play centers that help in fine and large motor skills such as a Huge ship, vet center, pediatric center, space center, courthouse, grocery store, climbing wall, huge foam blocks, etc. Rent out a room for your kids birthday. Look for deals on Groupon and if you have food assistance card entry is 3.00.
We have a family membership at a reciprocal museum with Tyler. We drove to Tyler to check out this museum since we heard good things about it. But we wouldn’t return if got the chance. Waco museum is way better. Not to mention they didn’t want to let us in due to we didn’t when a membership card because it takes 2-3 weeks before you receive it In the mail..... save your money and travel somewhere else to a museum or better yet go to a zoo .
This is a wonderful place to have a birthday party or to come just because. I came here for a friend who had a party for her grandson and I loved it so much I had a party for my own daughter there. There is so much for not only children to do but also for adults to have fun also. They staff is great and easy to work with. I hope to go back there again soon during the summer with my kids!
My three year old never wants to leave.Fun for the whole family.
Very fun place for kids! Lots of hands on fun!
Very entertaining and hands on. Various play stations. My kids loved it!
Think is the best place for your kids and adults to not only have a great time together. But it triggers insight, exploration and answers many questions we have. Its not just a place to visit once.1 thing can impress a mind to think or expand or develop ideas that lead our life. Its like a time machine. It has fossils to computers. It has hands on displays. And gives comprehensive information that anyone can understand.
Had sons birthday 4th birthday here. So many things do do for a very wide age range of kids. Spent about 4 hrs just playing around the exibits.
Great place for kids to wander and discover things from science to dinosaurs. Geared for kids between 3-13, not sure if older kids would enjoy it. Not a super large facility. Parking off street available.
My step son LOVED coming here. It was super fun. I feel like it was over too fast but we will be back.
As a California resident, I appreciate my annual escape to east Texas. Our trip is not complete with out taking the kids to the Discovery Science Place. Use the Groupon discount.Glad to see a few new things, like the fluff balls through the air tubes. Kids love the grocery store and restaurant. The News Studio brings out the inner actors
Fun, affordable place for kids.
Great little museum for younger kids. My favorite thing about it are the different opportunities for all kinds of play! My preeschooler loves it!
If you need to keep kids occupied for a few hours one day, this is a good choice. Its not as large as some similar places Ive been, but my kids who are ages 2-8 can stay busy for a long time. They love the pretend restaurant and grocery store, the fossil dig and cave area, and the climbing wall. The staff are friendly and helpful, and do a good job of keeping the place tidy. There are a few improvements I would like to see. First, the space area has some neat stuff, but its not super interactive. There is one display of a rover controlled by an iPad that has been out of order for at least six months. Either fix it, or put something else in. Second, I would like to see some sort of safety harness for the climbing wall. My oldest daughter can climb higher than I can support her, and if she fell, even on the padding below, it would be bad. Finally, the display that shows 3D printing doesnt do anything. You cant actually see the thing working, so what is the point? Overall, a great place to take the kids over break, or when you need an activity on a rainy day. They also host birthday parties, but I dont have any experience with this.
Awesome place to bring kids. Im 26 with no kids, and Im still intrigued by this place
It was an awesome place. Perfect for rainy days like today
Love all the exhibits. There are three large room with so much to do in each. Villages and Legos and tinker toys, etc.
My kids love this place and the price is very reasonable.
This place was amazing. I went with kids age 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12. Everyone had a blast playing with the different exhibits. After spending about 5 and a half hours my kids were disappointed to go but we will be back for sure.
We took two children that are 4-5 years old. They loved it. There are a few items that even adults will like but the set up is ideal for young children to use their imagination. Be a police officer, a banker, doctor, vet or work on a tv station set. Dig for dinosaur bones and drive a pirate ship.
We are from Massachusetts and are visiting our granddaughter who lives in Tyler. We were a little apprehensive about bringing her not knowing if she’d be able to participate. She’s 18 months and although she couldn’t participate in every activity she was able to have the freedom to roam around, explore, climb, touch and feel all kinds of things. The facility is clean, imaginative, well thought out and loads of fun for all ages. Bring snacks; there’s a special snack room to chill, have your snack and go right back in for more fun. My 18 month granddaughter stayed for 4 hours! I highly recommend this special place
Columbus Day weekend my family came to Tyler to camp at the state park but we were not having that good of a time due to the heat. I googled things to do in Tyler and decided to try this science museum. I was not expecting much, but this place was AWESOME! So many things to do all throughout. Each room had more and more fun. All of it is hands-on so my boys (ages 12, 9, and 5) had so much fun here! We spent almost 3 hours here and I think my kids could have stayed longer but they were getting hungry. This place really saved our trip! My youngest son is still talking about it and wants to go back. We are from Dallas and my kids had way more fun here than at the Perot. Looking forward to our next visit - Thank you!!
Coolest place for kids!
A great family break for kids to learn and play.
My son went here on a field trip and loved it
There were too many of the activities broken. Camera play room was not working, iPad to learn about ships not working, lights on map not working, train table buttons not working .... and so on. My kids had a good time but it would have been 4-5 starts if it was kept up better.
Great place to take your kids to explore and learn. It would be a little better if they had a tour or something. Other than that my kids had lots of fun exploring and being kids.
Never fails us. Ive been taking my kids and grandchildren for the last 20 years!
Good place for kids to experience exhibits and for kids of all ages to enjoy the various interesting and informative theater presentations. Cute gift shop with various fun and educational selections. Extremely friendly staff who care about their patrons.
Lots of fun for little ones!
Its a bit on the small side, but still pretty cool. Better for younger children. Be prepared for lazy parents ignoring their kids running into you. They do host parties as well.
This is a cute little museum if you have kids. It is more of a childrens museum than anything. They have fun little stations for kids to do little experiments, plus a little mountain and ship they can walk through. It isnt really big, but it is still fun. My husband and I visited it and even as adults it was still fun, but it is definitely centered around children.
My 18 month old grandson wasnt sure if they were going to have anything he would enjoy but I was very excited to find out that they had much much more. I would definitely recommend going again.
This place is awesome for kids. My 2 and 4 year old loved the place so much I had to buy a season pass and for a family of 4 it was surprisingly cheap!
Engaging and meaningful learning through play!
Love this place. Kids can play all day in air conditioned comfort and not get bored. Staff is friendly and always cleaning, reorganizing so things are in place for kids to play. Had a birthday there last year, party room was spacious, kids had a great time. The price is fair also which puts it over the top.
My son always has a blast when we visit. We have a yearly membership even when we go often he isnt bored. The staff is super friendly
We had my sons 5th birthday here today and it was great! There are tons of things to do! We were there about 3 hours and the kids were entertained the entire time!!! Also it is one of the cheapest places in town to do a party!
Great place to take children and learn about science as well as to have some fun.
