This is a nice little oasis of quiet near busy Tigard. The trails behind the field are short and sweet. I just wish the city would get in and remove the invasive ivy and holly!
City of Tigard has done an amazing job. Theres a playground, nature trails, paved paths, restrooms, fitness equipment, cricket and baseball fields, and room to throw the ball for the dog.
They really spruced this place up in recent years. The only bathroom facilities used to be a porta John by the equipment shed. Now theres a proper public restroom adjacent to a covered area with a drinking fountain and picnic tables. Also solar lamps and a playground for small children. For anybody much older than that, the real draw is the field which is suitable for sports, lounging in the sun, or letting your dog run around like a maniac. Dog owners will also enjoy access to a creek in the woods for their doggo to jump after thrown sticks into. Cyclists will enjoy nicely cultivated, relatively smooth but unpaved mountain biking trails looping through the woods with makeshift ramps here and there. Look out for fallen logs and branches however.
Easy path all the way around. Lots of wildlife.
This park was perfect for our merry group of babies and toddlers. Great play structure, hiking trails and statue animalsClean toilets too. Bonus!
Wonderful nature based park. The play area is made out of slabs of rock and carved wooden stumps
Update 27JUL2018Park trail experiencing a closure and upgrades with a restroom. See added picture for the notice. Seems theyll be installing a 1600sq ft shelter, play areas, and restrooms. My only concern is with the amount of vagrants here already...Update 6FEB2018Seems TRK updated and changed some trails west of the wetlands viewing area. They laid down some fresh bark dust and abandon the usually wet trail to the NW. Also I added a pic of the wetlands viewing area taken just now for an idea of what youre looking at.Now if they just fix the trail through the back field so its not a swamp year round...Original review.I go here about 3-4 times a week with my four legged kids and run em till they drop. Im actually hesitant to give a description of this place because I like it being a hidden gem of Tigard. But here goes and maybe you can enjoy it too.First the satellite pictures are not current. The entire North end was scalped due to invasive species and a natural path was installed to take you through the remaining forest into the open field. Unsure the future plan.Second, you need to know why youre coming here. There is a nice paved path that cuts through the east side good for runners/bikers/walkers/strollers. Otherwise you have an open field with an old baseball fence, some walking trails, the forest and the creek. Also the natural trails continue on to exercise stations on the west end of the field. Plenty of open space, but no day use spaces with restrooms, picnic tables etc.. Just open space.Third, parking is sparse. There is exactly 8 spots at SW Tigard St & Sw Twin Peak on the south side of Tigard St. This is officially the parking area and the dirt nature trail starts here. Good for walking/running, not for strollers. Additional parking on SW Tiedeman where the trails cross the road and by the track. Parking here is super busy during school drop off and pick up times. Lastly, you can park at Fowler Middle School itself and walk northward. Again, parking is shut down during school drop off and pickup times and is posted as such. Also the trails connect to SW 113th Pl to the west, but respect the residents there and there is no parking for non residence guests. Also youll find vagrants, or evidence there of, during the nice weather. Specifically in the small forested patch directly north of the open field. Never had any issues with em, but theyre quite messy and parents of younger kids would be wise to have some caution. Also when school starts theres always more trash left by the students passing through. Now with all that why do you want to go? No park nazis, its rarely busy enough to see more than 4 people, and almost always respectful dog owners with dogs off leash who actually clean up after them. There is a 6 leash law and cleanup required, so plan accordingly. There are great trails through the forest for running those dogs and plenty of opportunities for them to jump in the creek if theyre water dogs and you like giving baths. Cause theyll need it.Wet season brings a good majority of the forested area to the west and the NW corner of the open field to either under water or so muddy youll appreciate some rubber boots. There is an outhouse/honey bucket in the SW corner of the field chained to the lawn maintenance shed. Otherwise no other bathroom facilities are present. On warmer mondays theres always model plane enthusiasts there flying and will let anybody whose interested join in. Sundays has a cricket league. Seasonal soccer, baseball, lacrosse, movies in the park, etc... All happen at different times. If you want, bring the young kids for a baseball game at fowler and have em chase foul balls for free snow cones.Theyre currently adding what appears to be a nature look out platform in the wetlands area just west of the open field. Thatll be interesting. But most off all, stay off my black berries! Theyre ready during August / early September.
A lot has been upgraded here over the last year! Locals used to call this place the swamp but now it does feel like a park with cool features, restrooms and picnic tables! Great upgrade!
I truly love the natural climbing structures. The artist who carved the animals, etc in the wood is talented. I really enjoyed seeing all the artwork. Its a super fun park!
Nice paved trail to ride bikes on.
Great park trail, I love all the trails around here very nice to walk
Nice park for dog
Small park in quiet neighborhood, with adjacent playground, picnic shelter, and field. Unpaved, easy trails. More parking at Fowler Middle School.
Nice place to come have a walk. alone or with your dog. little dirty.
Great place for a quick stroll
Good place to chill and enjoy the surroundings and it has disc golf too.
Lots of recent improvements like the natural playground and marked forest trails
Loved it definitely will go again.
Nice trails and great play ground for kids
Just learned of its location tbis evening on a bike ride. Very cute and beautiful woodwork. I am curious to know who the artist(s) are who created it.
Great park. Long walking path with many great spaces. Good place to walk your dog (leash required). Could use an offleash area. Great for riding bikes.
Lots of ground to cover, amazing wood work detail on playground, covered shelters, street parking (be careful). I didnt get to see everything
Absolutely beautiful trails
Very cute park. Has a baseball field, a picnic area, a kids jungle gym area, and a huge field.
So amazing...from the cows to the ball parks to the play area.
Very nice park. Well maintained and nice for a picnic.
Tge brand new play structure is cute. There is some small seats under the structure where kids can play and get a little shade. There is a covered area with at least one table, unfortunately it faces toward the field and not toward the playground so its not a convenient place for shade or a potluck if you plan to have your kids play on the play structure at the same time. Also, there is no proper shaded area for parents or little ones near the playground so you have to stay out in the blazing sun if you want to be near your children while they play. The park has some cute wood carvings that may or may not stand up to weather (and hopefully not become vandalized).Parking is awful! You either park on the side of the road near Fowler Middle School on Tiedeman or the side of the road off of Tigard Street. Then you have to walk down a path (part of the Fanno Creek Trail) to get to the actual playground. Id suggest a stroller or wagon if you have the type of kids that are too tired to walk after a trip to the park.Overall, Im not sure how likely I am to return to this park. I prefer places I can easily and safely get in and out of quickly with my three kids. There are parks better suited to our family.
Nice and off the busy road but a little far for parking
Very Pretty
Great park. My oldest has lax practice here, has restrooms
I love this place. I go daily. I ride my mountain bike in the forest, do the fitness course a few times, then I hit golf balls in the field.
Great scenery
The Tigard Metro is really putting its efforts into conserving the landscape and restoring it to its former glory as a Savannah. Ive really enjoyed being apart of its growth and I cant wait to see where it goes next.

Nature park with wood chips trails. Part of Fannie Creek trail system.
This place is good for walking!!!
Park in itself requires maintenance. Parking is inadequate and the facilities lacking.
