This is a really great and historical place . This Oak tree is more that 338 years old. When you reach there you will have some different vibes. Warm and comfortable vibes. If any one feels the same or not but I have a very happy vibes in there because of the tree. Old trees have a great healing power if you will be around them or you touch them same as elephant. This oak tree is at the side of the road on open place you can park your car in the street and spend some time with this historical tree. I just salute the people behind this tree who are taking care of this tree. Look at all the support they have make which help this great tree to stand up. Go and hug this tree, you will feel happy. Enjoy
Such a beautiful tree! The story of the tree is that it was already planted and growing when the Constitution was signed. How amazing is that! You get to stand next to something that was alive and well when our United States Constitution was drafted and signed. Amazing! There is the sign in front of the tree that gives you all the basic information about the tree itself. And if you look on the back of that sign, there are instructions on where to stand and then dial the number on your phone and get your picture taken from the top of the telephone pole catty-cornered across the street. And its free! Very cool!Just be very careful if you take a high profile vehicle there, like a motor home. Check it out on Google maps in satellite mode first before you do it. I got through there with my Super C, but I had to dodge a couple of branches and had to turn back on one street because it had a clearance of 96. You can park half a block away and be fine. But so worth it!Happy trails!
The tree is very pretty. I was very excited about having the picture taken by the hidden camera that they advertise but when we dialed the number given, it never answered so I am not sure if it does not work anymore or what is going on.
This tree is awe inspiring. The size of it cannot be imagined by the pictures. You have to walk under it. See the moss and sun breaking through the branches. Look at the base as it stretches out with such heavy limbs that they either brace them with poles and rods or the rest on the ground. This tree is from 1680. It has seen so much. Experienced so much growth in human kind, and it outlasts is as long as we protect it.
Thanks to Thomasville, GA for taking care of this old tree. Nice little park and was really awesome to see the tree while were out safely exploring the area.
An amazing example of nature. Sit under it’s branches, see the resurrection fern draped along the top, and mans’s kind attempt to support its weighty limbs. such beauty rests here.
It was unbelievable!! A true work of nature art. Pictures or videos do not do it justice. You have to see it in person to get the awesomeness of it!

You have to visit the Big Oak if you go to Thomasville, Georgia!!! 169 spread and 30 around!! They do a fine job of taking care of this natural landmark!
We went to get some pictures by the tree and they turned out great! I do wish the city would get a better camera though that takes a clearer picture. We couldnt take a family picture of ourselves so had to rely on it for the family photo. It was very blurry but it is such a neat idea!
This is really wonderful. Kids will love it !
Absolutely stunning! Respect the neighbors as this in a residential part of town.

Such a beautiful tree.
There is something comforting about visiting a venerable veteran oak in a small town. This tree has stood her ground for centuries. Since the 1600s, she has dug her roots and stretched out her branches. She is massive. She is the mighty oak.
Pretty amazing tree! Definitely worth a quick stop :)
I loved it it was beautiful
Thomasville is a great place to visit!
The tree is huge and amazing to see. It was easy to get to and see from the car or you can get out and walk around.
You can call a number while you are standing at this tree and a recording tells you to look towards the camera and counts down and takes your picture. Gives you a web address so you can look it up and see it. Cool idea.
Great lovely oak close to downtown Thomasville. A must see while in Thomasville. A little disappointed though with the website where the pictures can be downloaded from. Its very difficult to navigate. But, overall its great that we can have our pictures taken remotely.
Huge live oak in Thomasville. Well taken care of and supported by wooden beams as its sprawling limbs would likely fall under their own weight. Situated not far from a nice strip of antique shops and boutique restraunts we unfortunately couldnt visit as we came midday on a Sunday. Not a long stop but a nice spot to admire a particularly large live oak.
Nice been travelling look at old oaks
Was an Amazing Site to see. Looks like one of them huge trees from out of a movie. I recommend anyone to one day visit it. You will be in awe with the cables and stand just to hold the enormous branches up because its so look huge.
Great for late groups, and you might even have a local stop by with some words of wisdom about your luck after standing under it!
Great photo opportunity and educational
Great place to check it out!! Feel the history. When that tree was there there were no cars, internet or people around it. Just indians running around, hunting.
