Beautifully landscaped around it. When Yoda the traveling bird (a/k/a Bird in a Backpack) visited Thomasville, NC she just had to visit the Big Chair.

It is a little bit small, but beautiful place. I and my family enjoyed it.

It is definitely a big chair! The whole downtown area is really cute and quaint! Nice walkable area with restaurants, and areas to people watch! Really enjoyed getting to see Thomasville!

The chair was brown with dark trees behind it so it was hard to see. The garden around it was beautiful with all the tulips in bloom! This is a cute town!

A fun road trip stop to stretch your legs! After stopping at the tourism office, we learned that Thomasville also hosts a 4-day Memorial Day festival. Pretty cool.

Fun sightseeing opportunity and place to visit! The fountain is beautiful, the gardens surrounding the chair are lovely, along with the Gazebo, picnic tables, and the Southern Railway caboose. Its also a popular spot for train watchers and photographers! Lots of places around the Big Chair to shop, get a good cup of coffee, or have a delicious ice cream treat!!

It is a big chair. 10/10 would recommend.

Its the biggest darn chair Ive ever seen!Dont plan in sitting on it. Youd need to have a very large extension ladder to get up there. Or a bucket truck!

Nice place .When i visited this place a festival called fall festival was going on .very good experiance . And i visited a shop called Thomasville Emporium .There i found many old antique items and bought some .

Ive never seen a chair this size so it was pretty cool to see. Street parking was close and plentiful making for an easy visit.

Kinda neat

Visit the Chair City! It was endearing to see this little town take so much pride in producing some of the finest furniture Craftsmen. We were there on Xmas Eve and was heartening to see the community come together in downtown. Do walk around to soak in some vibes. Worth a 15min detour if you happen to drive by.

This is a cool sculpture and a great city and this chair is located right next to a Pokemon tower. Fun for players of the game.

A nice place to go

Thomasville is a great place to live....the Big Chair...is a good thing to talk about....

Wife and I was in town visiting family. This is a unique landmark with beautiful landscape. Was a peaceful place to sit and talk. Local law enforcement stopped by to lower the flag for the night and greeted us with some “good ‘ol southern hospitality” Worth it to check it out if your in town.

Just fun....a silly place to visit and impress small kids

They will show a good demo, go beyond getting your information and personal information and try give you a smaller no good apartment. No refund.

The city of Thomasville is a lovely tourist attraction....theyve put a huge amount of time into the flowers and esthetics of the area around the chair and fountain....its absolutely lovely!!!!

Always great to walk around and usually very beautiful. Unfortunately the dry weather has withered the flowers and it kind looks like the end of the season blooms.

Theres no place like it

Interested side attraction to stop by. Didnt need much time there but was cool to see.

You drive by in your car,you stop and take pictures, nothing to go thur its the facing of the old chamber commerce building,around downtown High Point several different building, one shape like a ship and High Point Museum and Historical Park is a good time also.If you have time you need to Furnitureland South and check their furniture cabinet front building and should go thur store also,its wonderful and interesting,has restaurants inside building its that big.

This is an amazing artifact of a bygone era. Is supposedly the worlds largest chair honoring this city where at one point the best chairs in the world were built. Alas, that industry is gone.

Well the chair was a good tourist site, to look at how huge it was. But knowing the history of the town, and people who worked in the furniture industry there,now all closed down. Its a reminder of once was the life blood of a small furniture town now gone and struggling to stay intact.

Its everything you expect! The best tourist attraction in Thomasville, NC. It rivals the big drawers in Highpoint, NC and the Statue of Liberty in NYC. Cant wait to comeback and visit the Big Chair!
