Great park has a nice walking trail that is used by many. The lake is clean and there are nice picnic areas and benches. The rose garden is a great place to relax and enjoy the smells as well as view many different verity of roses. The restroom could use a bit of a spruce up power wash and paint would help and the parking areas could used some attention but overall its my new faplace to spend lunch breaks.

Im from Tampa but I moved to Tifton, GA and Ive been here for about 2 years.. Anyhow I got married, and this place is so beautiful!!! Nothing fancy, wedding that is but it was breath taken to experience such an amazing beauty!!! I will go back.. I thank the fantastic woman that married us, Mrs. Edie. She was very sweet and kind and down to business.

Best park in the city! I walk here nearly every day and it never gets old. Safe for kids and wonderful scenery with geese and beautiful benches. The trail is one mile and circles the lake.

Vast improvements in the quality and design of Cherokee Park can now be experienced where both sides of a Cherokee lake are fully utilized with boardwalks and seating areas and plenty of picnic areas as well as lots of free parking and public restrooms that are clean and monitored. Cherokee Park is a great place to take your friends and family or just enjoy your lunch in the middle of the day.

What a sweet little park. Lots of history with it too. There is a rose garden that was beautiful in May but a little tired in July... They are working on the lake but there is a railroad trestle that goes over the lake where they used to throw logs into the water and a sawmill that was located on the dam where the road is now would saw into lumber. There is even an old spur (you can barely make out) that would pick up the lumber and load it back onto the train going the other direction. The park has walking trails also. I only gave it 4 stars because they are doing a lot of construction which really isnt a bad thing but does make it a little less enjoyable!

Its a nice but theres trash that is never picked up. Sometimes like a net that is to remove leaves from pools would work to fish out trash in lake.

Nice trail,not too crowded but enough people to feel safe. Ducks & geese were not there today that was a plus was able to walk uninterrupted

Best place in the world to me besides home. Good walking, and running track, I think a mile. Several laps will equal a mile if not. Great view. Some geese are here most of the year, and I think that I have seen a couple swans over the years as well. Picnic tables under pavilions, playgrounds for the kids, great place for photographs!! Love the view any time of year! Fountain is in the middle of the lake for your viewing pleasure! There are sit down spots at certian points around the lake for viewing the scenery from different points of view. Great date idea! Quiet, even if its busy. Populated most of the day, if you are concerned about security. There is not official security, but plenty of trustworthy people who live in the community, and, there are lights all the way around the lake at night as well. The park is also located just beside a police station.

Beautiful park with friendly people. Valdosta very badly needs a place like this.

My wife and I have a picnic night once a week. We enjoy the evening watching people and the birds and folks fishing in the pond.

They still have slow service. Foods good.

This is a very nice lakeside park. We enjoyed walking around the lake, watching ducks and birds then going to flower garden. The roses smelled lovely and we saw plenty of happy bees and butterflies enjoying it also

It a nice place to go walk around the lake, let the little ones play on the playground equipment or even bring some food and grill out on one of their grills. Everyone is usually so friendly. Just makes for a great time. Oh yeah not to mention the numerous photo ops all around beautiful pics can come from there.

A nice place to go sit at lunch and enjoy the view, (Nature) or get some exercise in.(day or night.) The police dept is right next door and its lit up at night, so its pretty safe. The geese are there pretty much year round so theres always wildlife to look at.

I walk here for my physical and mental well being. Its beautiful and peaceful.

They have like 85 different rose beds. When they are all in bloom it is beautiful!! If you like roses this is a must see !!

The only thing negative I have to say about the parkbis about the ant piles that were everywhere! We even had a big one at the corner of our pavilion that we all stayed away from all day, but my 4 year old niece accidentally stepped on the part that was on the concrete and ants started going everywhere. We didnt have any bug spay with us, so we ended up just leaving the park. We would of stayed and continued my Uncles 80th Birthday, that we came from Florida, and places threw out Georgia but all the other pavilions were taken. But really otherwise the park is so beautiful, and they have very nice sidewalks that go completely around the lake for running, jogging, walking, dog walking ect plus a really nice dock. Also the duck and swans I loved. (Dont bring bread to feed them, its not allowed, plus its not good for them anyway) Oh and they also have benches to sit along your way, and picnic tables under the pavilions, and small grills. And a restroom that was clean, and handycap accessable. Also a playground, with swings too. We had a nice time, Im sure you will too, just watch out for the ant piles.

Could be cleaned a bit more but otherwise it was a great place to eat lunch and feed geese.

Cherokee park is a tranquil beautiful park with an amazing path to walk around its lake.

Great walking path all seasons. Get out early watch the ducks on the lake. Added plus some large Canadian Geese reminds us of the ones we saw in Minot North Dakota.

Terrific park for kids and walking around the lake. Fishing for slabs is unrealistic because the lake was recently drained and restocked, but there are definitely some 2lb bass, thousands of small blue gill, pan-sized catfish, and a few 25lb+ grass carp. The grounds are well-kept, and youll see the usual amount of garbage from lazy people who refuse to use any of the abundant trash cans. Pavilions, lake-side benches, bathrooms, jungle gym, and amazing rose garden are all there to enjoy, too.

Cherokee Lake park is special to me and my family. My brothers and nephews would go fishing while my sister in-law, cousins, and nieces would play at the playground. When I visit Thomasville I try to stop at the park for at least a few minutes and remember the good times we had there.

There is a great native plant pollinator garden down hill from the rose garden. Full of butterflies and other interesting things.

Stop by Goldens feed & get some corn for the geese, and floating fish food! Great fun feeding the fish and turtles and geese!!!

Im here almost everyday. There are 3 Pokémon gyms and 11pokéstops, and the Rose Garden gazebo nearby if also a Pokémon gym with 3 more stops available. Highly recommend if you play Pokémon Go! There are also pieces of exercise equipment in the park and around the lake if youre into that kind of thing.

Great place to picnic, or just to hang out. Gets crowded very quickly, even during school hours. So come early to get prime spots. Has covered and uncovered picnic areas. Grills are available. There is an outdoor restroom and a playground. Abundant waterfowl, but be warned, they can be cheeky around food. A walking trail surrounds the lake. Currently the boardwalk is closed for repairs and the lake had been partially drained, but that wont last. Nice family oriented place.

No biking in a city with limited bike trails or riding locations.

Came to the park with my wife and dog to walk the trail and catch some pokemon, was perfect weather and the grounds are superb. The rose garden was the highlight.

Saw nature at its best. Crows and squirrels and plenty of shade.

No speed signs...so dangerous when cars fly by the playground your child is playing at or cars park right up to playground equipment and I have witnessed children running into them while playing! So dangerous yet Thomasville does NOT CARE!!!

Great place for a 1 mile walk. Lighted for evening walks. Patrolled by local police foot and vehicle. Very Safe

They have a rose garden there that should be visited in the spring also.
