I went to Blake high school and was pleasantly surprised at the renovations to this park. I wish theyd done this sooner. Super nice!

Everything you want a park to have. I love coming to this park weather alone, for a romantic date or with a big group of people. There’s lots of things to do. It may get crowded during the weekend but, the park is so big it’s not usually a problem. The field gets really soggy (almost flooded) after it rains so you want to avoid sandals or any low cut shoes during those weather conditions. Plenty of parking at the park and nearby areas. Football field, basketball court, tennis court, etc... There’s a great view of Tampa’s very small skyline and it’s right on a river. University of Tampa is walking distance from the park. This park is also connected to the river walk. I can’t cover everything this park has in a review but it’s definitely my favorite park in Tampa.

Great park for kids & recreational outdoor activities. Our family hang out here every week. The scenery is great with great view of downtown tampa. Highly recommended

Great place outdoors for all ages. Nice paved paths for bikes and wheels. Open green area for kites and soccer. Splash pad and fenced in playground.

Beautiful park, beautiful city! Would not reccomend the dog park during hottest parts of the day. The fake grass is always way too hot for my dog. It would be great if they would put a tarp over the very small dog areas. Wouldnt take much.

Went to the Gasparilla Art Festival. Easy parking, well manicured lawns, beautiful waterfront views with park benches. Bins for trash and recycling, which I appreciate. Even some very cool funky metal sculptures.I hope the Festival is in this location again next year. It was perfect. Of course it also helped that the weather was great

Its was super fun great for the kids and its free also its have a water park as well.

Quite a beautiful space no doubt. Plenty of area to enjoy and a real step up for this city! The splash pad, playgrounds and boat house are top notch and sure to bring joy to families all over the area. The whole riverfront is becoming a wonderful place to spend time together enjoying creation and getting exercise.

It literally has something for everyone AND with great views as well. Separate large vs pet areas, outdoor sports, riverwalk access, and an awesome venue for parties.With so much going on, parking is insufficient. Expect to park and hike it.Overall, recommended.

Nicer side of the river. The playground is super nice. The grounds are well kept and clean. A lot of open grass space and tables and seating are everywhere.Theres even a splash pad, tennis courts, picnic tables, and work out machines.

I grew up playing at that park. Its been over 15 years since I had been there. It is beautiful. I enjoyed introducing my 13 year old autistic son to a wonderful place that was part of my childhood.

Beautiful, well maintained park. My daughter and I had a great afternoon here, relaxing by the water watching the boats. The park is nice and clean, and surprisingly quiet. Even got lucky and saw a dolphin right next to the dock!

The Gasparilla festival of the arts was held at the park this year, moved from Curtis Hixon park last year. This years location was full of impressive artwork, food options and music. The beautiful weather helped make it a spectacular event.

Great place to hang out, exercise, or access to the River Walk.

Had my baby shower there in April. It is clean family friendly. The picnic shelters are first come, first serve. With an exception of the big one. So make sure you get there early if you want to set up for an event. We Even took some nice pictures and Its right by the water. Beautiful weather and scenery. Definitely recommend.

We just found this park and not sure how we missed it. Awesome splash pad and playground. Kids can go back and forth between the two with ease. The playground and splash pad are fenced so little ones are contained. There are misters so if you are hot you can cool down and family bathrooms for changing, showers. Our kids love it!

Beautiful park with a fenced, soft-turf playground, small splash pad (currently closed due to covid-19), shaded areas, cooling misters and walking trails. This is a nice and well maintained place to take kids or go for a walk.

Julian B Lane park is a very well designed public park with high end amenities that include a large splash park, large number of tennis court and two pickelball courts. The pickleball courts are ideal for daytime play.

This place was recently built and I love how it’s not as crowded as Curtis Hixon. I love how relaxed and opened this park is. I love coming here at nights and just taking in the night sky. There’s a ramp onto the river taxi here and a basketball court that been bringing people together. I love that, there’s something for everyone here. A dog park, football field, tennis, water fun for children. This was a great addition to the expanding downtown Tampa.

Similar to Curtis Hixon and Water Works but has basketball ball court, tennis, pickle ball, ping-pong table and a walking track with view of river. Ample FREE parking! Ever since I discovered this I never go to Curtis Hixon or Water Works anymore unless there is an event.

This place has such a beautiful view, i could spend my evenings laying around reading with such a view.

Great open spaces. Wide sidewalks. Some covered picnic table areas with grill. Playgrounds for young and older children (as old as 10 yrs still playing). Drinking fountains and bathrooms.

This is a very nicely done park with a lot going on.its got a splash pad that merges into a playground with an open-air grassy field and lots of picnic tables. Theres also a Riverwalk that starts here and goes down along the riverfront, very scenic.

Great I grew up here

Well landscaped park. People working out, walking dogs, hanging out near water. Sometimes see a game of freesbie on the lawn. There is always a rowing or paddling clinic at the new boathouse.

Great outdoor venue along the estuary. What could be better than being surrounded by the architecture and flora of downtown Tampa on a perfect, sunny, December day.

This is an awesome park. My wife showed at the 50th annual GFA which was located here. I have to also say it’s not just the grounds that made our experience wonderful. It was also the people that work in Tampa. The police department, Parks and Recreation, Sanitation etc that make this area so pleasurable to be at. I have to give it to Tampa for their efforts in revitalization as well as their hospitality. All that being said. The bathrooms were very clean, the grounds were kept in tip top shape, and the various playgrounds looked very safe and clean for children to play in.

They redid this park so nice fun for the entire family. Splash pad, playground, workout equipment, chess table, tennis court, boat ramps, ping pong tables...its amazing.

Very nice for families and lots to do.

I love the how the park has a family friendly atmosphere. The playground is age appropriate geared to families with small children. Theres a water park area with a bucket kinects motion. Its sure to cool you off on a hot day!Theyre are other activities for the older children like Tennis, Basketball or playing in the open field area.This tree looks like a character from Disneys Pocahontas movie.

You can spend the day out there and have fun in the park riding scooters or just walking around enjoying the river

I went to Julian B. Lane Park for the 50th Annual Gasparilla Festival of Art. These types of events happen at the park quite a few weekends every year. The GFA is one of the biggest. The City of Tampa did an excellent job building this amazing park. Its huge. The park seems to be perfectly maintained. There is a Boys and Girls Club on site. The playground is modern and massive. The jogging paths are long enough for the most ardent runners. There are hundreds of benches and chairs, plus tables, chess/checker tables, and open grass seating areas. Pets are everywhere. You can bring your fishing pole, just make sure you bring your license if required. You could spend the whole day without you or your children getting bored if you bring your favorite outdoor game for one of the wide open spaces. The downtown Tampa Riverwalk is within walking distance. It starts right across the Hillsborough river at the Straz theater. All in all the Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park is a great place to visit for the whole family.

Awesome park! Beautiful view of the River and the city. Lots of cool equipment in great condition for adults and children. Theres a splash pad and these things that mist you with cool water as you walk the path. Lots of pokestops and gyms if you happen to play Pokemon Go. Open til 10 pm. Definitely recommend a visit.

A wonderful park! Ample grounds and picnic tables. Fenced in water park for the kids who had a blast. We took the Pirate water taxi and was dropped off at the pier & picked up after a long, playful event.

Its a great place to relax read play and what not.. its just everything you need.

I really love this park!! It has a bit of anything/everything you could ask for. A dry&wet water park for kids. Dog-friendly. A bunch of people working out by the river, basketball courts, tennis courts, huge walkway, plenty of tables, plenty of parking& multiple parking lots. A really amazing place to destress or people watch.
