Arrived here in the evening to watch the sun go down and it did not disappoint. Not only was the park beautiful but the sunset view was stunning. There is a pathway that leads to a beach section which is stunning. The park itself is beautiful as well and features a good number of pavilions and picnic areas. Will definitely be back next time we’re in the area!
A nice little park near the airport that combines a beach area with walking trails and a frisbee golf course. The paths are well cared for as are the bathrooms and playground. This location is about as close as you can get to the landing strip of Tampa International Airport, so you will be treated to close up views of many an airliner every couple of minutes during high traffic times. All in all a great, unique experience.
I spent less than 30 minutes at this park and was treated so rudely I will never go back.On 11/21/2020 at 11:30am a couple of friends and I arrived for a birthday party for our friend. Due to a prior injury I am on crutches, and it was a struggle to get from the parking lot to the nearest pavilion with my crutches. I would NOT say that this is an ADA friendly place. Soon all 10 of us arrived and set our food and drinks on a picnic table under a pavilion which the host of the party said he reserved. Right when we finished setting up a man named Carlos Hernandez rolled up on a maintenance golf cart and asked for our reservation information. Our host provided his name, and Carlos said that he did not have it reserved. Our host asked if Carlos could look at the other two pavilions because the person on the phone did not state which pavilion he had reserved. Carlos looked at the system on his phone and told us that we did not have any reservations for any of the pavilions that day. He then requested that we leave. My friends began to immediately pack up our lunch. At this time, a short elderly Caucasian woman with dark glasses pulled up in another golf cart. She looked at all of us and said “First of all, you have alcohol which isn’t aloud, second of all, you have glass which is also not aloud. So, you already have two strikes against you.” We were already packing up and I think this comment was rude and unnecessary. Our host mentioned to me that he paid a deposit, so I hobbled myself over to Carlos Hernandez and asked if he could look into what happened with our reservation. After finding the reservation confirmation, our host confirmed that it was reserved for a date in December. I asked Carlos if we would be able to receive a refund since it was placed so far in advance. He was not able to provide any insight. The elderly woman stated something along the lines of “it wasn’t her job to deal with customers and she just was paid to clean.” As my friends were all packed up and moving towards our vehicles, I asked this woman for her name, to which she responded, “No. You don’t need it.” With her whole back towards me. Carlos provided his name without any dispute and stated that we were aloud to use the picnic tables that were not under the pavilion. It was lightly drizzling outside, but the offer was kind. Following that I hobbled myself back to the car on my crutches. Although Carlos was accommodating and enforcing of the park’s policies, I will never recommend this park to any of my friends due to the way that I was treated by the other staff that worked there.
Very intimate and beautiful esp in the late afternoons. Makes for a perfect place to take wedding/baby pictures. Great place for a picnic and just an all around beach day. Has restrooms, a place to wash off the sand, and a nice playground for all ages.
This park is absolutely fantastic! Gorgeous area, beautiful wildlife, perfect water for swimming or just walking knee-deep to enjoy the environment. I will say that people are being rude and careless with their trash, BUT it is apparent that park staff are trying to keep the area as clean and safe as possible, considering how many people visit this place. I am overall very glad we found this park- it really made my trip about 300% better!
Parking may become hectic in the evening. But anyway parking is free.beach is beautiful good for a nice bath. Unique place because it is right beside the Tampa International Airport. You will never miss to see flights. Sound is not the most pleasant that you can hear. But the place is good for a calm evening. Loud/amplified music is prohibited. No drone zone.
One of my favorite places in Tampa to visit. If you are not looking for a long drive, not too crowded and still have a beach day, this is the spot for you. What sells the spot for me is being able to watch airplanes fly in and out. Bathrooms, play areas for kids and picnic tables. It has what you need. On Summer days, do expect more people than usual. It isnt a lot of beach but still enjoyable.
Called and made a reservation a week prior for today 11/21/2020. While we were there and setting up Carlos Hernandez came up and asked if we had a reservation. I said my name and he said there was a different reservation, although I called and paid. Shortly afterwards a short Caucasian, elderly lady with dark glasses came up. She was rude starting off saying we had several strikes against us and that we didn’t have a reservation. While trying to find the reservation number in email, she was mocking one of my friends when the wind blew his plate away and was cleaning it up. Found the email mistakenly made for the wrong month, although I asked for November several times. She offered no compromise even though the party that allegedly set up the original reservation were not present. The elderly woman claimed it wasn’t her job to deal with customers and she just was paid to clean after refusing to give her name after my friend - a person of color on crutches- asked for it saying “not today, you don’t need it” without looking at her. Carlos happily provided his name to us on the other hand. The beach itself doesn’t look nearly as good as in the photos so we didn’t care about leaving and she was rock headed of making us leave. Carlos on the other hand was very cordial answering our questions and was nice to us. When I thanked him for being professional, the elderly woman stepped in and took credit that was not due upon her. I will not recommend this beach to friend nor return since I refuse to deal with her hostile attitude again. I hope that appropriate action is taken towards her behaviour to be more like Carlos, to better improve guest experience at this beach. If 0/5 stars was possible I would mark so, although Carlos did an excellent job diffusing the dilemma and was empathetic towards our situation.
What a cool little, hidden away park. The playground was so much fun for the kids. The beach was small but very clean.. At low tide we were able to find all types of crabs including horseshoe crabs. The water was a little murky but it was a good backup for Clearwater, that had a purple flag warning the weekend we went.
Its a real quiet nice secluded place. Found some great conkle shells small but still cool. Beware of the jelly fish though. There are quite a bit of them right at the beach front. Good place for children as well. There is a nice playground here for them to enjoy .
Always been a great park. Nice park area. Nice beach. Fun to watch the landing airplanes. All round great place for outdoor family time.
Awesome park. Well maintained and sheltered areas for picnics which can be reserved. The water is not shallow for a long way so it becomes deep quick. Something to keep n kind of you have small kids. However the water is wave less
This park is so..... Clean there is alot of activities to do here such as the play place, build sand castles, see all the scenery and so much more. The sand here is very clean and soft it is REAL sand!!!! I would highly recommend it
Benches are filthy. Lots of people smoking and drinking. Sadly this is not the secluded little nearby getaway that it used to be. Views are very nice though so if youre coming just as a spot to take photos its great. And its a cool place to look at airplanes.
My favorite places to go its very low-key and well kept.
The water is calm, no high waves or rip tides to worry about. Parking is close by so you can take your beach chairs and coolers, etc. Theres a picnic area and grills (covered)! and restrooms. Family friendly too! Pretty as you can see and not over crowded like other locations. Enjoyable and relaxing!
Nice park and small beach. Many tables so it is suitable for birthdays. The parking lot is small so it is usually full in weekends.
Nice park in Tampa on the water. They have a disc golf course there. A nice walking path.Picnic areas, restrooms, and a play area for the kids. The only thing about it is the planes overhead, if you dont mind that then this a good place to hang..
Great place to go. Had a nice park for kids and a place to go swim. Also had good walking trails.
Directly on Tampa Bay between The Howard Franklin bridge & The Courtney Campbell bridge. Has picnic areas, child play area & restrooms. You can also watch planes coming in & going out of the Airport. Not a secret anymore. =)
It is perfect to take my 1 year old to. The water is very shallow. The deepest swimming part came to my waist. If you are looking for a typical beach with waves, this isnt for you but if you have someone that needs close supervision (by you, there is no lifeguard) but they still want to go to the beach, then I do highly recommend it.
Great place to stop on the easy to the airport. 5 min drive to the terminal. Kids can play at the park...sunbathing in water...or walk the mangroves
Loved the place very much as you can spend a day with friends and family . Can Hang out with them with a touch of sea water and also the flights fly in every 5 minutes above your head. So the scenary of having sea water and a flying plane is superb.
A nice park with a decent disc golf course. Certainly one of the better places nearby to watch the sunset. The beach is ultimately why this doesnt quite make 5 stars. There are to many better examples nearby.Water is shallow and often calm because of where it is in the bay. Again the sunsets are nice, but you will be competing with dozens of photographers.
1st time here and liked it. It has a disc golf course. Pavillions. Paths to walk. People are friendly. Seems like a hidden gem.
This little beach was awesome and has a park right on location. Water is a lil dirty though but overall great time
Here, It is an awesome place to hangout with your friends. There are some people take their lunch box here to enjoy their meal, sunlight, ocean view and everything that looks so nice. Restroom in this park is also pretty cleaning and good. Thanks for maintain it so well. It gives me a very nice experience to use it. One more thing, you can see flight landing that is fantastic to hear the sound and to be closed under flight during landing. I believe you will like this park.
Pretty cool location with constant action from TPA. Theres a bit of a smell from the retention ponds for the business center but otherwise its a nice spot.
Theyve done some work here. I had a nice afternoon here. I wish theyd put in an enclosed dog park since only service animals are allowed on the beach area. They had security visible and park areas seemed pretty clean.
Nice little hideaway beach w/ a playground. Took our daughter and grandkids & enjoyed being in the water with them & seeing the planes go by as they arrive at TIA. Notice 2 different climbing adventures i havent seen before & my 2 yr old grandson did surprisingly well on one of them. Wow! Havent see-sawed in quite some time. Nice fun time.
Very nice. Convenient and close. Everyone was respectful and friendly.
Bring bug spray Played disc golf. The course is decent .... however the bugs will try and carry you away
Beautiful park, lots of parking. The beach area is really nice and we watched the sunset like many others. The only downside was that the bathrooms were disgusting. I don’t know what happened in there, but there was a lot of standing water on the ground and the garbages were overflowing with dirty diapers!
We went here to see the sunset. We were not disappointed! It was absolutely beautiful!! Such a clean beach too. Really well looked after play area for children. We didn’t spend very long here but I would love to come back for sure. Definitely the best place to see a sunset in Tampa!
The park is very clean and well kept. Lots of activity. Great gazebos with grills you can use. It has bathrooms and an outside shower to rinse off the sand. Theres also a playground and a nice trail to walk or bike. Downside is theres not a lot of parking spaces but is probably because the place is not too big. Pets are allowed on the park area but not on the beach area.
Family friendly small park. Nice beach area, picnic areas, and a small playground. Clean and patrolled by park ranger. Awesome sunset spot!
Been going here for years even before it was called cypress point park. I love going here sometimes because its close and I get to enjoy the beach without driving out to stpetersburg. I love all the cool hideout spots under the trees. If u decide to chill under the trees leave before it gets dark or else the little bugs will eat u alive lol. Seriously though u will be itching for a few days after that. I also love this park because u dont have to pay to enjoy the outdoors. Go and take a break and enjoy this Beautiful planet why dont u.peace and love to everyone.
Water is very very warm. There were alot of people here when I visited. There were lots of tiny crabs and pretty seashells.
This is the best hidden jem. Just nice location with tables picnic areas too. Golf disk court, walking track.
The renovation was a fantastic improvement. I can feel safe there now. The perceived threat used to be undesirables being present, wether human or rattlesnakes.
Im so mad I never knew about this beautiful treasure ... now Im totally in love
Great place for kayaking along the mangroves, very little trash. The beach looked well maintained also.
Absolutely love going to this park. They have a wonderful playground. Pretty clean restrooms. A small but clean beach. Several picnic pavilions. Nature trails to walk on. And a wonderful opportunity to view spectacular sunsets. Only problem is there’s not enough parking. The place can get rather busy even though it doesn’t seem busy within the grounds. It’s tough to find a parking spot. Especially if you’re handicapped as I am. They only have three handicap spots and they are always filled. But I’m still giving it five stars because it’s a wonderful little place to hang out!
My son enjoyed watching the plans land/ take off. Great spot!
Convenient, beautiful sunset, nice park, however can be very crowded.
The city has really let this place go. They build it up nice to earn more tax dollars and then let it degrade. The south end of the beach is my main concern. Watch for fire ants too. Theyre everywhere! Has potential and was great place all around, at one time. Now, you just have to make the best of it. Sad.
Great place to enjoy fun in the sun! Nice picnic tables and grills,(whoever gets there first gets the spot) play ground, beach in waking distance from bathrooms, showers and water fountain. Plenty of parking on a Friday during midday was able to park right up front!! Sometimes Ive seen an ICEE truck, prices not too bad. I bet on weekends it is pretty busy!
I visited this place on the way to Tampa airport. It was convenient because it was very near the airport and we had some time bf the flight. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the park and facility. In fact I was very impressed with the cleanliness of Tampa overall. Great place!!!
This is a small beach by TPA. Works great if you dont have time to drive to St Pete or Clearwater beaches
Love this large park! It has a beach, no dogs on beach, but the rest of the park is great for walking, jogging, riding bicycles. Its fun to watch people playing frisbee golf!Oh, and watching the airplanes coming in for a landing is amazing, how low they are!
The water was great. Not too many people nice and relaxing.
Always room for my large family my grand children enjoy it there.
This park is my new happy place. If you like airplanes and sunsets this is the place for you.
Great place to watch the sunset and very family oriented they have a children’s park a nice one for the kids
Cypress Point Park is open from Sunrise through Sunset, free parking, very calm and less crowded. There are also desks and benches to sit through and watch the sunrise and sunset. An excellent picnic spot.
Convenient local spot with good views of the bay, sunset, and overhead airplanes, as its right next to the airport. The quality of the beach itself is mediocre, but you bet what you pay for, and admission is free. Security is also fairly aggressive about pushing you out as soon as the sun sets.
This park is definitely slept on. Not a huge beach but the facilities are nice and well kept, nice picnic areas too.
Beautiful park. I love the wildlife and nature about. Great bike riding and walking trail. Parking is tough on crowded days and the park does get crowded. However, it is a beautiful place for pictures and family time. The only addition that would make the park better are food trucks or a concession stand.
We enjoyed ourselves while social distancing. We spent the entire day lounging, playing and eating picnic we packed.
Though the water was very clear and clean, the park itself was dirty and unkept! Dont use the virus as an excuse!! The park should have been cleaned prior to reopening!! Bathroom toilets were backed up and had poop in them, the urinal was broken and there was trash everywhere!! Remember that Jesus Christ is Lord!!
Fantastic small park with beach-like access. Bring your chairs and enjoy the view. I wouldnt call this a beach though. Used to catch a lot of good Pokémon here back in the days. Good times.
Nice get away in urban area. Sandy beach. Park with pavilions.
Its a quiet little beach that doesnt get real crowded.
Nice quiet place to walk along the beach and trails. Parking is super easy. Certainly not a day long destination, but perfect walking off a heavy lunch. Nice sunset and sunrise views...maybe do a little personal yoga or trancedental meditation.
Love it very nice place and the beach is nice and parking is free and they even have security
Such a quaint park and beach. So close to home.Love it!
Nice beach when the sun goes down beautiful sun set
Fantastic park, beach, and if you like watching aircraft land then amazing view
This place is good for a quick, low-key getaway with very few people. The airplanes come in every few minutes, so if you want peace and quiet, this is not your beach. My wife and I brought our 3- and 2-year old here and they loved playing in the sand and in the water. It slope of the sand is very slight, so you can go pretty far out into the water and its still pretty shallow.
Nice, beautiful location giving you a beach like feel. You can spend a day with your family, have picnic near the grill area, set up hammocks and watch sunset, or get your kayak and go into the bay! Theres a small play area for a the kids as well!
I love this place always clean no trash laying around great place for families
A nice park on the bay. Enjoyed my walk on the sand. Bathrooms close by.
Went to watch the Sunset, it was so beautiful.
Awesome for paddle boarding. Not real deep. Mangroves to go in and out of. Restrooms on-site.
Great place to kayak (even for beginners) plenty of parking. Seems like a great place to take the family for a beach day
Beautiful beach. Somewhat untouched by humans. It is a local beach for mainly locals. High in seaweed growth and wild life. Great for adventures and exploration. You can catch seastars and horseshoe crabs as well as conch. They are pretty big too. Water is pretty shallow on one side so its great for toddlers, theres an extremely lower risk of drowning on that side than that of a regular beach. Not really rip tide so Id say is pretty safe. Theres a lot of creatures though, Id suggest wearing water shoes to avoid stepping on crabs. They can hurt. Its like stepping on glass. Other than that its a great beach! I hope it never changes, we have too many commercialized beaches and need this pure taste of nature. Theres also a park, showers, grill stations, and gazebos with benches.
Its a decent small park. 3 shelters and one playground. The beach was not very clean though. We picked up quite a bit of trash.
We went to have our portraits taken here on the 4th of July, it was really beautiful and had nice shade coverage despite the fact it was so hot.The restrooms were clean and well stocked, but if you have a child Id bring water and hand sanitizer. The playground is not shaded so maybe bring sunscreen if youre not used to being in direct sun like that.
Beautiful place, nice parking, playground and bathroom/shower facilities.
I just stumbled across this place. It feels pretty secluded and quiet. But it is a nice place to relax and see the water at.
Nice relaxing park! Great view of the planes coming in! Enjoyed our walk immensely
Small peaceful beach, adjacent to a golf course and generally uncrowded. Looks like not many people know about it
Okay, less to be desired. Very cute for baby crab spotting, crustaceans all alike. Beach is mucky.
Absolutely beautiful park!! It is very well maintained, not a lot of trash along the water or even back away from the beach. It’s easy to find a spot away from people!
I have always adored this spot so very much. It has a little bit of everything. A playground for kids, places to sit and hide away from the sun, soft sand, and plenty of sea life to witness. Its a perfect location to watch sunsets or simply gather your friends and family and enjoy a day by the ocean.
This park is a wonderful family destination and we can relaxation spot you can often catch people taking pictures and models doing things that models do.
Its a very lovely place. Dolphins dance in the bay, there are little crabs all over and sea snails and starfish. Very charming.
One of my favorite parks located on Tampa Bay. Family and friends are sure to enjoy time spent here. Many wonderful activities to do at this park. I want to fish, uh maybe disc golf, volleyball or just picnic. Where to start? Check out Cypress Point Park today. Enjoy.
Love the planes coming into tpa!!
Cypress Point is honestly an underutilized gem in Tampa. Big open area that often has excellent views of the bay, a nice sand beach, some confederate history, a park for children, a running track for the running enthusiasts, ample parking, the list goes on. I often go here at lunch and walk around or eat at one of the many picnic tables. The buildings are well maintained and when the beaches are open you can theoretically swim here. I dont think thats the best idea, but its a great place to tan in peace and quite.NO PETS on this beach. Go to South Tampas multiple dog beaches if you are looking for that.
Pleasant park with an awesome frisbee golf course. Nice beach though the sand strip is narrow. Place was quite crowded on the Saturday I was there. There is a small pier where you can do some fishing.
Nice lunch parking spot near water and close to bike path...but planes are loud here since TPA is very close.
Nice little park with some beach access and has a Frisbee golf course.
