I like coming here, the staff is very nice and it’s a cheap option for a family outing, but they seriously need to work on the food service. The last 2 times I’ve come, they’ve either forgotten my order completely, or I’ve had to ask if it would be coming any time soon. Today was no different. I pre-purchased our food and tickets, and within 5 minutes of being seated, they brought me my drink, so I was hopeful that the third time was a charm. There were drink rings on the tray from previous guests so it definitely wasn’t cleaned between visits. We sat down at 1:30 and at 2:11 I finally hit the button to ask where our food was. I’ve worked in a restaurant my whole life, there is no way chicken fingers, tortilla chips and pretzel bites should take 40 minutes. 5 minutes after hitting the button, here comes my lukewarm food that clearly had been sitting in the window waiting for a runner. Pretzels were tough, the queso was room temp & already had that little skin on top. I feel like 3 times is a fair number of chances, so from now on, we will either eat before or just get popcorn.

Best movie theater I’ve been to! I thought Silverspot in Naples, FL was the best but there is no comparison to this one. It’s the cleanest, most modern, most roomiest of all!The seats are like sitting on a plush extra large armchair. The lap tables swing so you can position them to your liking and satisfaction. Each table has a “service” button. You are given an actual restaurant menu to order from. Food and beverages are brought to your seat.The fish and chips are nothing short of amazing! Real fish steak strips. The cocktail drinks are superb. The desserts are delicious.All current new movies. The best part is it only costs $10 for admission.Bonus; All day Tuesday’s only $5 per person!Parking garbage right next to it with plenty of spaces!

The Studio Movie Grill was great. Good food and very friendly staff. Although I do not agree with not being able to choose how much we can tip.. We always tip but the amount should be our choice.

My wife rented out a whole theater for our anniversary. The staff was nice but that was the only good thing about the whole experience. Most of the food came out cold or was hard. We had to move theaters once. I would highly discourage anyone from renting out a whole theater for their party. Wasted 300 dollars and our anniversary basically ruined.

Difficult to find the entrance - it is in the second level of the parking garage at the back of the mall. The only signs are at the back of the mall, there are no signs at the front.Relatively clean from what you can see in the dark.Food took way too long for how basic(as expected) it is. One item was delivered, and the other was completely forgotten.The server was very nice though and graciously helped us out in getting the forgotten item. Thank you to the server!Better than this theatre used to be.

I always love it here! My food is fast and good. This is the only place I want to go watch movies. I wish they would play old kids movies so we can pop in whenever and watch something.

Not quite as good as an Alamo Drafthouse but they are a solid option for a dine-in theater.

Price for tickets is very reasonable. A little complicated finding the entrance if you have never been before. They get you with the food....dont go while hungry. Im not complaining. The food is delicious and their portions are that of a quality dinner.My daughter that we brought to see frozen 2, is special needs. She is non verbal and prone to tantrums and has limited understanding for her age. The staff was very accommodating to us as well as understanding when she kept pressing the call button.Will be going again in the future for sure.

Place was dirty and run down. Seats are comfortable but dont recline. Food was generic at best and the shake was melted like it sat for 10 mins before coming out. But when 18% gratuity is charged automatically why would any one clean up for the guest or make sure your shake is a shake when it comes to you!? Still its unique enough to go at least once. If your not in a area that offers food and a movie.

Everyone is always so nice. Number one place to go if I want to treat myself to a movie. The food is really expensive, so i dont buy often, but it tastes really good. Never had an issue with that. Still not worth the price, but good either way.

This is a great venue. It’s just wonderful to be able to order food and drinks before and during the movie. Chairs recline with plenty of space. It’s located on the backside of University Mall in Tampa. There is also a parking garage which is also very nice.

1st family outing to a food service theater. Prices were reasonable. Food and drinks were good with prompt curtious service. The seats were comfortable with small tray table attached with call button for server. Our server was Ronnie and he was very good. Seat cup holders and trays could be cleaned a little better.

Cool theatre, very nice. You can order food and they deliver it to your seat during the movie. The mall it is located is kind of a dud though and it is really hard to find as there are no reliable signs. Once you find it, a cool experience.

Great place to see movies with big seats that you can reserve beforehand so you know exactly where you will sit before getting there. You can also order great food and drinks during the entire movie, not just before the movie starts.

Theaters are rather tiny but it is comfy. Service was good! Clean inside and outside as you enter, plus a nice bridge view of the rest of the University Mall.

My husband and I usually go to this theater to just relax and of course watch a movie. We order food and water and before it wasn’t a problem. For some reason this experience from tonight getting two simple cups of water was extremely difficult. We ordered food and received it in about 15-20 minutes which was fine. When it came to the two cups of water, we didn’t get it until the end of the movie AND after asking for it 4 times. Once we received our water, it was only one HOT cup of water. I understand that it gets busy but for two iced cups of water, should not be difficult. And as I noticed with the replies from studio movie grill, they’re all the same generic reply. Overall, I don’t think they actually care about their movie goer experiences. Definitely stay away from studio movie grill.

This is a movie theater where you can order food and have it delivered to your seat while you watch your movie. Their menu is pretty good and I’ve liked everything I’ve ordered. Prices for food are kind of high, but ticket prices for movies are really reasonable and you can even find deals online, so it kind of makes up for it.You press a button on your seat to signal to a staff member that you want to order, and they inconspicuously walk over to your seat. Its really not distracting at all, like you might imagine. Last time I was here, I had a little bit of trouble getting them to bring me my drink, but the service is usually really good. I’m surprised this theater doesn’t have more business because it’s really nice. They also have a full bar in their lobby, and you can order alcoholic beverages to your seat.

This was a great place that had a full bar and food service while you watch the movie! It was nice and clean. Service was excellent. The only thing that was a huge pain that they dont mention until you literally hand them your ticket to enter the theater section is...... you cant bring in a normal sized purse! So, you have to walk all the way back to your car and hide your purse in your car! The walk is far because the theater is in a mall. it just would have been nice to know in advance since it was raining and we had been hanging out in their bar until show time then had to scramble back to the car right before the show!

Theater is nice, I’ve been here on a few occasions. I recommend not having to use the restroom while you’re here because they’re consistently disgusting. Shared some photos from my most recent experience. Also, make sure to order your food and drinks all at once because it can be hard to get a server back over. Every time we’ve gotten our food to our seats before soft drinks we ordered at the same time. But still, good quality food and movie experience.

Its a really nice theater but it is very poorly run/staffed. The theater is set up to be waited on at your seat but then the staff will barely remember you are there. Here is an example of something that has literally happened on multiple occasions: I hit the button to call for help, waiter comes and I ask for a drink. It never comes. I hit it again. Oh Im so sorry Ill be right back. It never comes. Hit it a third time and another waiter comes, how may I help you? And Im baffled that I dont end up with three drinks. Last night, that third attempt to get my first drink took 15 minutes before it came. Thats 45 minutes after I first asked for it. Besides the fact that this should never happen, it has happened to me twice at this same establishmnt. I really hope they do better because this is my neighborhood theater and I really would prefer to see movies here. My current advice is, its a great place to see a movie, unless you want refreshments, in which case anywhere else does it better.

Its a good spot for dinner and a movie. Not always the best service but the food is good and much more affordable than Cinebistro. They are now automatically including 18% gratuity on the food orders. FYI...

This movie theater has more than 10 screens and a huge variety of food items to select from. The one thing that stood out was the sound quality of the theater. You could feel it through your body. Really important for an immersive movie experience. The only negative is the location. The University Mall is not the safest place to visit at night. Always stay safe if youre out for a late night movie.

I wish I could give them more stars! My son and I had a flipping blast!They are on top of things. Felt like a super star, people rushing to you, taking your order, almost instantly, when you push the button on your table. Ive been bragging about this place, since I went. It is pricey, but worth it. I think I spent $30 something.Honestly, worth it. You get mints when you exit the theater!

Cool concept, sub-par execution. Everyone I interacted with there did not act professional. They were kind, but they seemed to really not care about anything. My waitress was so kind, but very forgetful. I asked her twice to bring the sauce I ordered and paid extra for and she never brought it. I was livid when the checks came out during the movie. It interrupted my experience twice. She came out to bring us the checks and then back out to collect our signature. This should definitely be done at the end of the movie.

I usually have a great experience here. I come here every week and order the same thing. I attended this place on 1/30/20 to watch Gretel and Hansel. It took 15 minutes for me to order and 20 minutes after that for my food. There total was $37, I paid 50 in cash and never got my change. I ordered some chicken tenders, chips with salsa, and double sauces on each. I did not receive my my double sauces. I did not receive my chips. When I brought this up, my server acted like he couldnt care less. I never got the items I paid for. They wouldnt even refund me my money. This is by far the worst experience Ive ever had. Please do yourself a favor and never come here. Why would you treat your customers like this?

Movie theater tucked behind the always desolate University mall. Affordable movies, greasy movie snacks, lovely staff. Im glad they finally decided to include gratuity on your check- the staff deserves it. Always love going to $5 tuesdays. It feels like the only time we can all afford to go out sometimes!

Every time I go they change something. First it was the quality and quantity of food served. It went from great to just okay. Not worth the $20 average youre gonna spend on food. Then it was the quality of the servers. They are either great or very bad and forget food and drinks when ordered. Someone recently just told me about the gratuity theyve been charging that I had no idea.

We are frequent visitors of this location so much that we got the monthly ticket plan. We mostly never have problems here but we recently started attending some late night screenings and noticed a large difference with the customer service we receive in the two times. Night staff could use a refresh but other than that great place to watch a movie. Food is very good and fairly priced. They even have a 2 for $28 deal.

The theater is inside the Mall somewhere. We arrived at the mall at 11:30pm. The Mall was closed and there was no way to find the entrance that is open. No visible signs or directions. How difficult it is to post the signs? If you never been there, don’t even try to go for a late show.

We were nicely surprised with this theater. It was our first time and we enjoyed it. The waiters were very courteous and the food was good and fairly priced for a movie theater.Seats were comfortable and spacious so it was easy to watch the movie even when they were bringing food.We can recommend this as a good place to enjoy a movie.

It was awful we walked and and the seats was dirty was told to wait basically until the movie started then they dont so free refill on drinks it 50 cent for soda and pay again if you getting a pink lemonade like for real its crazy super unhappy with this place....

I can tell everyone here works hard to keep things running smooth and clean, it wasnt a disappointment for me, my boyfriend took me to see Charlies angels and it was excellent. Servers here are nice and attentive and theyll make you feel welcome.

Food arrived over an hour after we ordered it... And it was cold. Ive been to a handful of places where they serve dinner in the cinema, this was the only one I wouldnt return to. Two stars (instead of one) due to the fact that its still a movie/cinema experience and thats still noteworthy.

Food is expensive ($14 for chicken tenders) and it took forever for the food to come out, place smells weird, the seats were pretty jacked up. But if you just wanna watch a movie and not eat its a good deal because tickets are only $8.

The food and service have gone down hill. I keep going because its close to my house, and the seats are comfy, and on Tuesday the tickets are $5. I keep hoping the food will come out hot and fresh, but after the third time, no improvement. Such a bummer. This place was fantastic when it first opened. Maybe its getting demolished like the rest of University Mall, and they just dont care.

This place...IS AMAZING! Prices are reasonable. Having a waitress deliver food and beers at the push of a button, is just...the best. Please please please clean that place. When the escalator feels like you are stepping on Krazy glue its time to clean it. Carpet should have been removed years ago. Love the servers but the place is dirty will change my review when it changes.

The movie theater was freezing cold, to the point where it was uncomfortable even though both me and my girlfriend were wearing sweaters. Service was bad with our appetizers taking 30 min and then my entree arrived shortly after only for us to wait another 30 min for my girlfriends entree to arrive. Coupled with a mandatory 18% tip makes their promise of exceptional service a joke. Two stars.

Okay atmosphere. Great sound system. Comfy seats. I ordered food before the movie started, never got it, BUT I did get a bill. In terms of the dine in, it’s okay. Wasn’t a fan of people walking around.

My husband took my son today for his first movie experience during a sensory friendly showing. They offer assigned seating but when my husband arrived to the theater people were just sitting where ever they wanted (this was known as many people were trying to sit in their assigned seats, but others were already in them.) Luckily my husband and sons seats were not occupied so they sat down. My son was so excited and was sitting nicely and watching the screen (exciting for us because we didnt know what to expect.) A few moments later a gentleman approached my husband advising that my husband was sitting in his wifes seat. My husband proceeded to show his stub to this other movie goer to show he was in the correct seat. Following this gentleman comes an employee of Studio Movie Grill (SMG) advising my husband he must move since this is the only place for a family of 6 to sit. My husband proceeds to get out of his assigned seat and get my son to move. They attempted to move my husband and son to the very front row which did not go over well. My son became upset and was dropping to the ground pointing to the seats they were just sitting in saying that one, that one Studio Movie Grill was less than accommodating with the situation. They offered my husband a free ticket to replace the one he had already paid for by himself, but that doesnt account for the 30 minute drive to took to get there to enjoy a sensory friendly outing and ruin one on one time for my sons first movie experience. We are really disappointed with the professionalism and organization of what is supposed to be an enjoyable experience for special needs children and their families.

The movie was awesome but the service was no good. Servers took forever to get our order and took a long time to get me my drink then the food took a long time to come and on top of that the appetizer and meal came at the same time so it get crowded. But the food was really good.

Seats do not recline unlike the one in Seminole. U r required to beg for couple of glasses of waters even though 18% gratuity is applied by default. Worst service ever. I used to go to Seminole movie grill and it was a great experience but i will stay away from this one. This will be my last visit unless they put reclining seats, address food services. Remember everyone in the world do not like to to drink airated beverages and some of us believe water is the best.I dont mind paying 18 to 20% gratuity only if service makes sense.

Food was good only thing that was a little bother was the servers bump your seats as your watching the movie while they keep getting orders. I think they should only have orders before the movie starts. Once it starts they shouldnt be disrupting the show. But other than that great food and kind staff and the drinks they serve are good too. Will be going back for sure.

Ticket prices are the lowest in Tampa. They have loung type seating and with their own food tray. You order food from your seat. Great service and friendly staff.

This was supposed to be a ticket but instead its a refund receipt because Studio Movie Grill wouldnt let me in with my backpack (I took the bus there so I had no car to leave it in). The same backpack Ive carried the last four times I went there. Some foolishness about a policy change due to the Joker movie, which I wasnt there to see! Oh well, I guess Ill see when it comes out on video. This was my favorite theater but thats over now.

Went to see the new Aladdin movie with my kids. The theatre was very clean. The staff was punctual. I like that no wait time. I had the popcorn and cookies very tasty!!! First time ever going to the studio movie grill, will be going back Great specials!!!

I dont usually go to this theater because I can eat somewhere else and get a better deal. Tickets are fairly priced even if food seems a bit much. The seats are comfortable but you cant learn back in them. Its weird to get in or out of the place and Google doesnt know how to get you there.

They make you pay up front instead of at the end of movie as done in the past. They force 18% gratuity when I would have tipped 20% minimum for good service! If I didnt have groupon tickets to use, I would not return.

Great cost but the bugs and flies buzzing around the theater as Im trying to eat my food is ridiculous. The seats and tables are sticky and not cleaned. The escalator and bathrooms are filthy!!

Every time I come here the food gets worse and so do the workers! Corporate should be embarrassed how they treat their customers. The food use to be amazing but obviously their was a lot of cut backs and now the food is absolutely terrible! I come here quite frequently but everytime I order food it always comes back cold! I tell the server/bartender this and it still comes out cold no matter what and the sad part is I usually order nachos! How can nachos come out cold you can tell this is just laziness on your employees behalf! And your female bartenders are rude and definitely need to humble theirselves and remember they are their to make me and other people drinks! And that THEY DEPEND on me to tip them! Their customer service is embarrassing and this is coming from some one who served & bartended in restaurants. Y’all need to do better it’s definitely a shame how great this place was to how ghetto it is now!

This is the worst theater. I go to the movie grill in Seminole all the time and it is great. I went to this one because they were the only one with seats for the movie we wanted to see with my children. I booked our seats on fandango. I arrive at the theater, one it is dirty not clean at all. We go to our theater and believe it or not they have office chairs not nice office chairs just cheap office chairs for us to sit in. I go and ask to be changed to a different movie time so we have more comfortable seats. They move us we go into this theater and the seats do not recline just normal theater seats. We order, our service was extremely slow. No one should ever go to this theater. I literally drove over an hour to go to Studio movie grill because Seminole location is awesome, but never ever again will I go to the Tampa location. I did write them directly and got an email back saying we will contact the theater and work to make things better. Lol thats a way to say they do not care about our experience. Which is pretty crazy considering you are going to lose a customer that comes often because of your lack of response and caring.

Nice theater could be a little cleaner but the staff is polite and the food is pretty good. Alcohol is a little pricey but they always have specials for the general admission tickets as well as a 2 can eat for $25 special so it kinda makes up for the high price of cocktails. Nice place for a first date.

Horrible experience went to see lion king with my daughter and wife AC was broken in theater when I spoke to management they said sorry we will refund we’ll come to find out “Shawn” wasn’t a manager so Tyler the front manager said he couldn’t do anything I asked to speak to Shawn he said he wasn’t someone who can give you a refund and he wasn’t allowing me to talk to another manager aggressively with my child getting scared when another employee walked by he said that Tyler wasn’t the only manager and referred me to Robert nothing was done no refund and I was treated like I stole something after spending over 100$ at their establishment I highly recommend replacing Tyler with someone who has customer service skills

Okay is being rather kind to the place. When you enter, theres this strange urine-like smell. You dont get refills on popcorn but you can on fountain drinks. Servers passed right by us even though the little call light was on. Ive had the food and its not too bad but as with every other movie theater, its high priced. Theater seats, not all that comfortable and when the servers go by, if youre tilted back, they bounce off the back of your chair. The seats do not recline, only tilt.Theaters should stick to movies, popcorn and candy. When they try to be a restaurant, the mix gets really lame, at least here. Servers dont seem to care. Food is just average but trying to be fancy. (Mac and cheese with bacon, wow!)Youd get a much better meal (at half the price) at a restaurant. Then go to the movies to watch a movie not dine. If the movie sucks, at least you didnt spend $14 bucks on a hamburger and $5 on a watered-down soda. That is, after youve spent nearly $30 (for 2) on the movie.

Food was just chewy & gross i got like a flat bread pizza & the bread was not of flat bread stuff it was like a thick pita bread over cooked or under cooked because i could not chew it very well, my husband ordered a bacon cheese burger with simply BACON & CHEESE ON BURGER. 3 TIMES, 3 TIMES BURGER CAME WITH SOME KIND OF BBQ SAUCE ON IT- ALL WHILE TRYING TO WATCH THIS MOVIE that i cant remember because i am concerned the servers wont bring food correctly also asked for refills on drinks & those didnt come my husband & i are trying to share what was left of his drink

This theater was very dirty...as soon as you walk into the lounge area there was a horrible smell that was very overwhelming. Once you get into the actual theater the seats are peeling which was very uncomfortable since I had shorts and felt the plastic almost cutting into my legs. The cup holders and arm rests were very sticky and dirty as if no one ever bothered to clean them prior. The food was even less impressive. The flatbread pizza I ordered was chewy and flavorless. The actual service from staff was great but as for the vicinity itself... Two thumbs down from me. I would never visit this theater again nor would I recommend anyone else to do so.

Went here with my husband and our friend and his wife and they work here at the studio movie grill invited us with free movie passes and we all watched the movie IT together it was really scary but good ️

The sign in the front of the mall says the theater is on the wrong side of the mall. After walking the length of the mall to get to the theater(making us late) we were told they do not allow purses inside. We ended up canceling our tickets and leaving because we would have missed the first 20 minutes of the movie by the time we went back to our car to leave my purse in like they suggested.
