Third Thursdays had some vendors on the sidewalk and music for entertainment. Police presence was a good feeling that you could be out and enjoy knowing that your safe. Ships were open as well ad restaurant(s).

A beautiful small town square. Its nice to walk around and meet local people. Small area but it has a water fountain and a stage. Plenty of chairs to sit and enjoy. You can find a dozen of good restaurants in a walkable distance. A good spot to take professional photos.

After undergoing a $2.3 million dollar renovation a couple of years ago, Hutchinson Square is the nucleus of Old Town Summerville. Complete with a fountain, statues, benches, and shade trees, the park provides a great spot to enjoy a lunch or evening stroll. Small shops line both sides of the square that leads a wanderer from the railroad tracks up to Town Hall.

Great I was there for a President Trump rally. It was awesome. About 150 people showed up to support our president.

Love just sitting relaxing & enjoying weather. Great place to go with all the social distancing we have to do these days.

Hutchinson Square relaxing I went out for a walk when around downtown Summerville spent about 45 minutes and Hutchinson Square just relaxing enjoying the breeze sitting in the shade

Thank you Main Street Reads for a great story time. If you havent been they have one every Wed at 9:30 in the middle of Hutchinson Square. Social distancing was available for those with concernes about covid.

Most events are well put together. Others... Seem last second and very... Uneventful. Third Thursday is a nice smaller town time, larger events more well known things are awesome.

I grew up in Summerville. So its nice to see them taking care of the square.

What a marvelous place.The square has a wonderful green space and old architecture buildings. The Gallerys interior Decor has a unique design and features from the 40s. Very detailed and a walk back in time, outside and inside.Great location off Doty and Richardson street. Plenty of arts, restaurants, and home of sweet tea!!

Attended a silent dance party. It was well organized and so much fun. The DJs did there best to get the group dancing.

Hutchinson Square has long been the perfect little park off of an extremely busy main highway(17A.)There have been major improvements that were recently revealed. There are replicas of old Summerville that are absolutely gorgeous..the sign that welcomed people to the flower town in the pine, a platform & railroad station, park benches and much more. Hutchinson Square is a must when visiting Summerville. The park is truly spectacular and takes you back to days gone by. It made this Green Wave(Summerville High School mascot) proud!

Love the town square renovation. The stage and Archway are a great addition and the variety of events here is expanding. Love Scarecrows on the Square, the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, and other events.

The lights are beautiful and the events are a fun way to spend a night out.

Terrific little park in downtown Summerville!

The town has so many nice events that take place here. Its a nice little park to walk through too with plenty of little shops around it.

Lots to do here today. Local car show going on till 10am, sweet tea festival after that. A block away is the usual farmers market with lots of great choices. Busy weekend, great place!

Very nice Town square. Recently renovated but still maintains its small town charm.

Very fun downtown area. The actual square is a great place for a picnic under the trees. Lots of cute shops and hidden treasures.

Cool little town

This is the most amazing, quaint, cute and happy square Ive ever been to. There was a festival in the park that we happened to accidentally walk up to. The kids loved it, live band, everyone was dancing in the grass enjoying one another, no division, no politics, just love.

Since they renovated the square it is so much more beautiful and has much more life to it. I kove the fountain in the middle and i also like the big tree there as well. There are benches to sit on and it is close to local restaurants and stores

It was a beautiful spot to visit, the park was very nice. We went to the Summerville fall festival and the plaza was very lively. It was very fun for my family and I to come to this spot.

This is my favorite place to stop after work. I love going into Cuppa Manna, getting a Bubble Tea, and then going out into the park to sit and relax. There are many other great places to visit in Hutchinson Square to visit as well. There are two great places for wine and cheese and a new place called off the chain has amazing food

I prefer the nostalgia of what it was. But if you are looking for a place to sit outside and enjoy the weather it is nice. There is a coffee shop and a wine shop as well, if you would like a drink. Plus the old pharmacy to explore.

I was very pleased with the completion of Hutchinson Square. Walking through it rather than just driving by was a delightful experience.

I love how they have remodeled this place. It makes it so much nicer.

The town revamped this area and let me tell ya,they did a great job! The landscaping is perfect and the amphitheater style stage they built is perfect for the live music that goes on during third Thursdays.

Recently updated area. Where before it felt like a small park, now it feels more like a venue with an open area and stage. Its probably better suited for the area now and Im sure it will be nice to have the added space for downtown events.

Great evening spot. My family loves to go to sonic for half price shakes and then come to this park to enjoy the outside.

Summerville is Hades

Absolutely love this place! Summerville hit a grand slam when they redid this place and gave it to the public as a place to meet mingle and just have fun!

A really great upgrade for a vibrant small town feel in Summerville, SC.Wonderful concerts and festivals hosted with attention to details, like seating and ports-potties.

Nice enough

This was recently renovated and wow I was not disappointed when I saw the square! This has plenty of shaded seating areas and is surrounded by cute shops

The simpler, more rustic town square was preferable in my opinion. What has always made Summerville so appealing was that despite is astronomical growth, the old town was still just that – a simple, rustic, unpretentious old town. Unfortunately, we have had a string of new mayors and town council members more than willing to spend tax dollars on spit-polished public areas that cost millions but add nothing meaningful to the experience of being in Summerville. The old Town square needed nothing more than the neatening up of the flower beds and better regular maintenance of the paths, fixtures, and flowers. Instead, we have this expensive makeover that trades rustic beauty for modern open concept, and all the charm is lost.

Down home friendly, a touch of the past. Nice job landscaping this little jewel of a park.

Hutchinson Square in Summerville is a really cool town square that is very Summerville and maintains the small town main street feel in the middle of a growing town. I like the renovations and all of the space it created and all of the different places features that it has. There are plenty of spaces to sit and relax and get some cool shade on a warm day and watch all of Summerville pass by. The park always seems to be clean and well maintained every time I have been there. I like when there is events here and it works well as an event space with plenty of room to move around. This is part of what makes Summerville a special place.

Beautiful and lively

The park looks really great after all of the work they put into it. Cool string lights in the trees at night give the park a cozy feel. Its a great place to sit and have a chat with a friend. BUT WHY, WHY, WHY ARE THERE NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS IN THE AREA?! This is such a common and annoying issue in public places around here. Why create a place where people want to go and sit for a while but then offer no place to pee? Its just cruel.
