The park is beautiful. Baseball field, playground, clean bathrooms. Lots of people there at all times. Please wear your mask.
Our favorite playground in Charleston area thus far. Could use some pick me ups on the equipment and in the restrooms, but overall, a really great experience every time. Theres alot of trees here to keep you nice and shaded from the SC heat and their sports complex is off the charts on the maintenance end (though could use some better concessions ;-p )
Lots of room and imagination equipment for all ages. Lots of sitting areas for parents/grands. Still in great condition after being in constant use for over 10 years!
Love this park. Plenty of toys for all age children and its under the shade of trees. Great parking and clean bathrooms.
Great place for the kids to play. I just wish the adults would be a little more diligent and where they leave trash.
I have always loved this park! I used to take my boys there when they were young. Now my daughter-in-law and I take my grandson out there. He loves the swings!!!
I love this park for my kids! I went here as a kid and now I get to take my kids here. Whats great about this place is that its gated all the way around so your kids dont get out of sight. They have bathrooms opened to everyone, picnic tables for eating and for birthday parties and plenty of space to play. Its big enough for adults to get up there and play too! Outside the park are baseball fields as well. Its free to get in but they do close after dark.
This is my favorite park they have huge tire swings and fun activities.
We take my little cousin here all the time and she loves it. I would highly recommend this place for little kids
Gahagan Park on Boundary Street in Summerville is a great place to get some fresh air and run around when you need. I like that they have something for everyone with a lot of open space, athletic fields, and a playground. This park is well managed and maintained and always seems clean and taken care of. This park also works well as an event space. I have had a really good experience every time I have come here.
The kids always have a good time and there is always a ton of kids to play with. The biggest problem is the trash. No one knows how to pick up after themselves and keep the place clean.
Had an awesome time with my grandkids. Wonderful park, we really enjoyed it
Great facility, with what seems to be the only track open to the public in the Summerville area. Baseball fields, football field, tracking, walking trails, playground and large parking facility.
Great park to take your kids, very shaded, bathrooms, and I believe only one entrance and exit so its way to keep track of your little ones!
Great fields. Well maintained, lots of seating and parking.
This park is every little kids (and adults) dream. I play at this park with my son and I have fun like Im a kid again. I felt like a pirate in a castle pirate ship world. I could hear the waves hitting the ship and the dragons spitting fire at my son and me.
Its a nice park in a neighborhood. Very quiet very relaxing. You would hear frogs Birds you can feel the nature. Theres a very large soccer field two different baseball fields a pretty large play house for the kids made out of wood a lot of stuff for kids to enjoy. The walking trails a little scattered if you decide to walk around the baseball fields to the back of the park youll find another Trail real nice wooden bridge theres a lot you can add to your Trail but theres not a specific nature trail at this park but its still great place to bring the family have some fun outside for some soccer maybe some baseball
Very large playground. Also, the playground area is very well shaded and great for the kids even in summer
This park is a great place to take the kiddos and have a picnic lunch too!!!
Super nice playground its clean and has a fence all the way around the playground with only one way in and one way out. Playground has plenty of activities for the little ones to stay busy.
Nice park but they dont aloud dogs properly because people didnt pick up after their pets
So went to the playground for the first time. Absolutely cool the way its done. Kids had a blast playing at discovering each area. Its shaded and it has bathrooms. I dont know how welI the bathroom is kept since we never used them nor have I been to the sport fields so I cant speak on it. Definitely be going back. Such a neat place.
My child loves this place. Big playground with a lot of softball fields perfect for many events.
This park reminds me of the one I grew up play at. I love that it is all fenced in and only one open way out. There is an area off to the side for younger children, tire swings, rock wall, picnic tables and bathrooms. Very easily you could spend a couple hours here so pack a lunch and extra water.
Wonderful!! Exactly what our 3 year old granddaughters needed!!
My kids love it there and its free
I really enjoy the walking trail
Nice walk in the morning, fresh breathe of air.
Great activities for the kids and the park offers much needed shade for the summers.
Kids LOVE it, keeps them busy and happy!
Probably one of the best parks Ive ever been to, even as a kid. Lots of stuff to play on, climb on, swing on.... and something important for me is the security. There are a few limited points of entry that are visible from several areas which makes it less stressful. Sitting in the right spot gives you visibility to the whole park... easier to keep an eye on the little ones. But honestly, the best part is that its a great place to play with your kids.
Great place to take the family
Very clean. Two sets of bleachers made for plenty of seats!!
Very nice park. Lots of room for Lots of kids. Tables to picnic at. Singular entrance/exit. I highly recommend it.
My kids love this park. Its like a playground castle!
Fun for all especially the kiddos
Clean and a fun place for the kids.
Nice fields. Always maintained and open to the public if there isnt any events going on. Also has a small kids area.
We met this little praying mantis so cute!My kids love coming to gahagan park..* it could definitely use some minor improvements**The water fountain is out of order*the bathrooms are kinda dark and have somewhat of a smell. But nonetheless my kids love coming to play.
Good park, lots of area for kids to run around. The park structure reminds me of a castle. Lots of swings and activities for children. A few negatives; one is right in the front, a bridge made of rubber-like material that gets super slippery if it has rained recently. It stays wet and I watched multiple children slip, fall and bang their heads on the wood holding the material, my child included. The other con is the castle has really bad lines of sight. Its very easy to lose sight of your children, creating panic mode to locate your child. The floor is made of dirt instead of grass so your shoes dirty and if it has rained recently, the ground turns muddy. But overall, a unique and decent park.
My kids enjoy the out doors.
Clean and well kept, usually quiet except for softball days. can be a little busy but a great place to walk or read.
We loved it! The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner but its a wonderful park and we will definitely be going again soon!
You can Pokemon hunting while the kids play here
So far the best park Ive been to so far. Have a nice size playground with kiddie obstacle courses, tire swings and picnic tables. The parents and kids who attend this park have all been friendly respectful and laid back. So if youre looking for a nice park without all the rowdy chaps, youve found it.
It is a great playground. My granddaughter loves going here. I take her every chance I get. They have nice benches around the trees for us older people to sit on. Its always nice and shady and we can watch the kids. They have a side for extremely small little ones. They have picnic tables and they even have restrooms! Oh yes and plenty of parking....Very nice playground!
A great place to take kids to play, the play area is enclosed and a restroom is available. There is a section for younger children and one for older kids. There are benches and tables to sit at. My only complaint is that the entrance is set up such that a child could leave the play area and not be seen by a parent who is sitting at any of the benches near the entrance. There are two or three ways to get to the exit (entrance) from inside. The parking lot is just outside the entrance.
Sandbag reception today. At least 3 to.4 hundred people filling up their own bags... Everyone (as in the public) were VERY helpful and courteous towards each other getting their DORIAN water shields... Be safe everyone.
Great park! Love taking my nephew there. The shape treasure hunt is super fun to do, & in the back theres a giant field which is great to practice baseball in.
This is by far the nicest and safest park in Summerville. Its starting to get a little dated but the city staff keeps it very clean and the police keep it safe and sound. I would recommend bringing a group because its a large place and it can be difficult to watch multiple kids by yourself.
It was a nice place to run
Was broken and even dangerous rigging of some equipment. Very trashy all over park we even found a used rubber in 3 to 5 yr park area. I hope to see some effort made to do better!
The layout of the playground encourages kids to play together! There is also plenty of shade and places for parents to sit. One of our favorites!
Really fun place to play
Everything you need to have fun and excercise
GREAT park!
The park is big and lots of fun for kids of all ages. The park itself is great. There does need to be someone who comes around to enforce the rules a little. We had an elementary class kids party and there older kids there unsupervised. They were roughhousing with each other and their language was awful. Some of the music they were playing had every strong language also. They came over to where the party was throwing a football and hit one the kids without even the smallest of apologies. We cut the party short because of this.
This is a good park to take the kids. Family friendly. The maintain the equipment fairly well, but does need some repairs and maintenance done to some things
My daughter is in love with this park. Its different from what shes use to. One side is for the little babies, Ill say 6 mos-3. Then theres this huge structure that looks like a big treehouse/ jungle gym. There are little passage ways, monkey bars, tire swings, rope bridges, slides, etc. Plus there are places everywhere for parents to sit. An ice cream comes to the park and there are bathrooms available.
We love this park. Its huge! It would be nice if it got a few updates because some things are broken. But for the most part its perfect. Pretty well shaded too.
My kids love this ️.They call it the abandoned park so mysterious they add.I think as long as u got eye on your kids everything is dandy.
Great athletic fields. But the crown jewel is the kids playground. Its huge! Lots to do and plenty of other kids for yours to play with. We had a great time and will definitely come back.
Great playground for kids
Its a great place for the kids to unwind and relax and enjoy themselves also enjoyment for the parents to
Been going to this park since I was 10yrs old. I remember when it was built. I no longer live in the state but when I visit. I stop there
Great place to walk or ride bikes. Usually quiet and offers a beautiful place to unwind and unplug. If you are new to the park, grab a map to get a good layout and avoid feeling lost. By the river can be buggy, so bring bug deterrent. Playground and bathrooms are on site.
Extremely nice park. So much to do for big and small kids
This is the neatest park I have ever been to. We live all the way in Hanahan and we drive the distance to go here. The play area is all wood and massive, my son says it reminds him of a castle! The park is clean and bathrooms are always clean which is always a huge plus! Highly recommend! it will quickly become your childs favorite place to play!
This place is one of those great old style parks with all wooden and tire construction. It was tons of fun for kiddos of all ages.
Its very nice, plenty of parking. The only problem is late 20s early 30s mothers sit and gossip on the kids swing preventing children from playing.
Great park for kids just too many flies! Great equipment though
Always clean and loads of fun for the little kids. Age appropriate structure to play on and interact with. Great place for cook outs and birthday party worth picnic tables and grills.
Add a gate to the playground and a gate that separates the toddler playground from the rest and it gets 5 stars! Really cool playground, just no place to let a toddler run free!
Our family loves this park! The playground is impeccable, as there is so much for kids to play on and do. The grounds are clean, and the restrooms arent too bad either. As busy as the park stays, it isnt hard to keep up with your little one because parents/guardians are able to access all areas quickly. It is definitely worth the drive from our home to take our kids to Gahagan Park.
Great park, spacious parking
Sertoma league plays here every week for games. Great place for families! Pet friendly!
We had a great time. Just wish they had more parking or come way before any events start
Took my daughter Sunday afternoon and there were about a million kids of all ages there. The place was a mess and overflowing with trash. There was a birthday party going on and smelled weed in the air faintly. Dont recommend going there on the weekends at all but the park itself is nice for older kids during the week days even if it is falling apart.
Family park. Its made of wood, it inspires creative play. Ive been taking my son, nephews, nieces and now grandchildren to this park.
This kind of wooden park is a fantastic trip to the past. This place has some missing and damaged equipment. It needs some love.
I love this place, but only if I can find a certain time when its not busy. Most parents are nowhere in sight which can be a problem if Im trying to play with my kids but having to watch and contribute to other kids needs.
Great place to take your kid, they have an outdoor park along with public restrooms.
Nice park
I love this place. I wish I knew about this park before. My child loves this park and she is 12.
My son loves coming to play here, he calls it the wood park. Does need repairs but you can play around them usually.
Great place to take your kids we had a wonderful time
Nice clean park with a open track around the football field to do laps
I have a love hate relationship with this park! There is lots to do but the layout is horrendous! All the adult seating is in the back of the park and the play equipment is at the front where the parking lot is. Its way too easy for a kid to walk out of the park or someone take your child. The bathrooms are at the back and are by woods...too many kids like to run behind the bathrooms (play hiding from one another or parents) and it would be way too easy for someone to take them. Just be prepared to be a hover parent no matter how old your child is. And be vigilant the entire time..which I always am but it takes extra precaution here.
