Nice trail park. Very well maintained and marked. Was a very good place for mountain biking, downhill trails were built well. The bike wash and maintenance station at the parking lot was a nice bonus.I probably wouldnt reccomend the beginner trail (acer spades) for total novices, but once you have a bit of cornering and braking practice youll have a lot of fun. No major obstacles on it, just plenty of sections where you can pick up decent speed before and through the corners, which might make some fresh riders nervous.
Great trail, nice and long, gets my heart rate up but not too challenging. Love that its close to home. The only thing I dont like about it is theres not a real defined top or a great view when you get to the top. Very family friendly.
Really great intermediate bike trails. The green trail is actually probably the funnest trail because you can really rail the berms and pump the rollers like a pump track. The upper trail has a nice little chute and a few small jumps to flat on the side if you know where to look. Some stream crosses which dry up in mid July. The trails dont drain that well, so let them dry out for a couple days before riding in the summer months if they get significant rain. Thank you to Willamalane and Disciples of Dirt!! Hear more great things are coming in the future. If youre a true true beginner, look for the Acer cut in about 1/3 of the way up mossy maple on your left (orange sign marks it). Gives you a nice little 1/3 mile downhill trail which is a little flatter so braking and learning to turn in berms is easier.
Beautiful area. Wish the timber companies would leave the surrounding areas alone.
Beautiful climb up shady forest trail.
Great cardio hill climb
Love this addition to our local trails and hikes lineup. Its all uphill but gentle inclines. Great views, dog friendly, and has a downhill extreme bike course nearby as well. Bathrooms are newer Nd well maintained and clean. AND theres a cleaning station one can use on shoes, bikes, or tour dogs after all the mud. Will be using this trail regularly
Very beautiful natural walk/ hike
Beautiful, close to town hike.
Nice trail on the outskirts of Springfield, havent had much time out there yet. Looks promising tho.
Very nice park
Tons of fun, especially the mountain bike trail
Great incline, beautiful trail! Loved the foliage! Cant wait to run this trail again or bring the family back next time!
Very clean and quiet escape from town. Beautiful wooded hiking/biking trails.
Loved it! The trails are wonderful and we loved hiking through the forest!
Havent seen much of it yet. Ok so far
Great for walking, hiking, trail running, mountain biking, dog walking.
Love walking here with the dogs, family and friends!
Havent had but one chance to go. But Im going back soon. Great little place for a hike and the views.
Great clean family friendly hike!
Super kewl mt bike trail!
I’m very grateful for this awesome resource so close to home! Thank you Willamalane and the Disciples of Dirt for making this community park!
Good workout trails
Great place to visit.
Some nice views, all uphill, I wish it wasnt such a long walk to the trailhead, theres no place to park on the west end of the trail.
A little bit difficult to find. The entrance is actually located at the end of a dead end road (Mt. Vernon). From there you walk down an abandoned paved road for about 1/2 a mile till you reach the entrance of the natural area. As of April, the Spine Trail is under construction and closed. So, you are just hiking up a gravel access road. Dont let this deter you though, the views from the top are wonderful. There is also a lovely wildflower meadow.
Hike the entire trail of Thurston Trail its very secure you will be one with nature I recommend this Trail to anyone come out and enjoy yourself
Great trail perfect for a good workout. Awesome for just a relaxing hike.
Drove around trying to find it for an hour. Gave up and went home. Finally found a review where someone explained how the hell to get there, which was much appreciated. Maybe well check it out another day.Willamalanes website was useless as their version of directions is a link to Google maps and Google maps will drive you into a field. We were on Mt. Vernon twice and it told us we were in the wrong place.
This was an amaxing place to go hiking. Its a bit of an uphill challaange. A bunch of switchbacks to the top. Then it gets to a really steep grade when you try to go down the spine. But just this part is nice, very family friendly, and not that steep. Can be done in just a couple hours. There is also alot of wild life and nature to bee seen on this trail as well
Great pathway for biking
Quietly walking
Nice trail. Gets u away from everyone thats stuck in the smog in the mornings.
