The bridge deserves five-stars for its uniqueness however, the city of Springfields city council deserves one-star for its lack of creativity in finding a quicker/better solution in shoring up the issues to get this regional treasure back up and open to pedestrians, rail-fans and the general public.

The bridge is an impressive structure but it is now close to the public with a chainlink fence, there is no access to cross it. I could tell it was very beautiful back in the day...

Coolest part of history in town. They need to open it back up! Awesome to walk across while the trains run right below your feet...sometimes you can get the conductors to blow the horn as they pass under you. Will scare the pee out of ya lol!

Its closed been closed forba few years now I remember as a teenager we would use it all the time the city of Springfield was talking about tearing it down because it was deamed unsafe but they took a vote and now they are supost to be repairing it Im not sure when its supost to start hope soon it has great few points for pictures of C street

This is an excellent historic structure that I hope gets refurbished and reopened to pedestrian traffic.

Historic part of Commercial Sreet with many Tea venues and thrift shops and good restaurants close by to walk to.

As far as foot bridges go, this is one of my favorites. Its comfortable, plenty of room to change direction in case you have second thoughts about your direction or forhot something in your car. All in all a very positive experience for your feet.

Its very pretty here, although it is a shame that it isnt open. Construction is being done on it and you cant walk on it.

When its open, its a great place to catch some views and spend some time being introspective or spending time with others. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful.But the bridge has been closed for some time, for its being inspected for safety. About a decade ago, some chunk of money was spent on refurbishment for its hundredth anniversary.

Its a great historic landmark of North Springfield although its been closed for quite some time due to renovations. Used to cross this bridge on a regular basis when I was a kid.

It is an awesome railfanning spot! Unfortunately, the bridge itself is closed, but you can still watch trains and get the bridge in your picture or video, making it an awesome shot!

Whats crazy about Jefferson Avenue Footbridge is my grandkids always want to walk across it and the city has shut it down Im not sure where they are going to repair it I know that they cannot just close it down forever or tear it down because it is a National Monument it is over a hundred years old this is very neat bridge if you have not seen it or visited before you should go by and check it out I like it Christmas time when Santa is there and they have it open and they let people walk across it

Kids enjoyed running along the bridge and seeing the trains..both moving and none moving. Other tha the footbridge there wasnt much to see. Most of the shops nearby were closed. Overall glad we could see the footbridge. If ur train fan ull enjoy this.

Historical structure without much fanfare. Fun for kids or train buffs to go over if youre already on Commercial Street (right next to the Farmers Market) but not worth going out of your way for.

I didnt really pay attention to the bridge when we went by it. Honestly the last time I checked the bridge was closed off and there was a rumour that they were going to shut it down. I dont know if thats true our not. I hope not because I have always wanted to go up there.
