This park served as a great meeting place for a socially distanced morning hang out with a friend. There was ample parking in the small lot for the 9am hour. Theres a grass field & large-ish picnic tables adjacent to the lot & thats where we sat. The area was clean & quiet; great for dogs & or children. There are trails off of this main area that we didnt explore. The main area is spacious enough to go without a mask, but its a good idea to have one on you, just in case. Ill definitely return to further explore the park & its trails!
Well cared for, very clean park for walking, hiking, biking and picnicing. Our 4 month old Lab enjoyed himself a lot!
Smedley park makes you feel like you are in an episode of paranormal activity...especially under the bridge area and the deep wooded trails. Great spot to film a horror flick Lots of little fishies for kids to fish. If they are not at least 14 inches you should throw them back so we can have big fishes in the future. nice spot!
Great place for families, to go and let the kids run around . Nice small play ground area.My dog loves going there and just being able to check things out on his own.
This is such a great all purpose under utilized park. We love to come here. Very family friendly.
Beautiful but fllods out quickly with rain.
Nice quiet little set of hiking trails along quaint Crum Creek, marred a little only by the overhead superhighway.. yikes!
It smells like bad sewage not enough smooth surface for kids to actually ride their bikes. Dont go towards the bridge theres a pipeline there
Love this park and trail. Bike, hike, walk, sit... Go!
I have a great time Every time in here. I love it. Great family day out.
Nice place to sit and read a book. Or go for a hike in the woods.
This park was absolutely gorgeous. I recommend taking the road all the way to the end, Papermill or whatever that road is called, and parking all the way at the end then taking the east side of the Creek Trail. Its a pretty steep climb actually so I dont recommend going if its too wet or if you have trouble with that.
It was great! nice trails to ride on!
Plenty of trails for walking, and lots of room for kids to be kids!
Big fan of this party. Ive been hiking here for years. Lots to do for families, dog owners or loners like myself
Beautiful place to go with the family. I just need the trails to be labeled better so we can feel comfortable to walk the trails.
The playground was outdated but the park is beautiful
Great tucked away mid-day/weekend park. Use of the park runs from very light to moderate traffic on a week day and a bit heavier on some weekends.Four to five different parking lots, clean, well-kept park with small trails and a stream through and especially accessible in the back by the multi-purpose fields.Sometimes encounter dog walkers and almost always friendly folks. A quiet space to read, write and think, stroll and have a mini-respite from the bustle just outside the entrance. One way out, one way into a tranquil place
More of a hiking trail, not for the average person just wanting to be walking..plenty of parking too.
Great place to go for a walk the puppy!
At least two large fields, two playgrounds, plenty of trails to hike, streams running throughout, and lots of parking ... Ive been loving walking my dog here and taking some time to play fetch in the fields. Its a little soggy on the playing fields, so wear shoes that will keep you dry!
Nice clean hiking trails.
Multiple large fields and a few hiking trails. Great for dog walking
Playground equipment needs to be fixed and upgraded.
Needs serious improvements for safety. I don’t understand why they let it be so unsafe and rundown for so long. Could be such a great spot.
Great park! Have been going there for years. Have had family picnics & kids birthday parties there. Walk the trails with my husband. Great place to pack a lunch and spend the day, it just pop in for an hour or two...
Me and my lil brother got a good workout in
Great trails, great people.
Great time fishing and hiking. Tons of space.
You have to drive down to bottom parking lot. Then the bike trails and hiking trails begin. Bring pepper spray. People walking dogs off leash.
Very nice place to visit . Bring the family. My father played a lot of ball there. Its kind of my point of contact when i want to remember or feel his presence. Nice walking trails and lots of nature for all to enjoy.
Clean, quiet, lots to see on the walking paths
Great Mountain Biking/hiking trails. Love to visit
One of my absolute favorite parks; its just so beautiful and expansive!
Small park by the Springfield Mall. Two play areas for the kids and a lot of open space to run. The swings were down when we went. Also you have to walk down a lot of stairs to the park and its very hilly. Just be aware if you have mobility or balancing issues.
Love smedley park its my favorite spot in Delco!
Had a great time there with Harold O Davis summer campers. Linked up with local boy scouts from the area that taught the summer camper valuable survival skills.
Rocky have to go under highway train crates your child could easily fall off at the end non child friendly graffiti lots of bumps and ditches horrible my family will never go back
Nice little hike
Best park ever
Great place for Mt Biking. Even better since we can ride from our house. Lots of technical trails. Not really a beginer place IMO. Lots of creek crossings, roots and various terrain. There are few easy paths bur they dont last long.
An off the path quiet quint park in Delaware county. Never too crowded. Shaded play area for the children of all ages. Parking is not an issue. A shared bike and walk path through the wooded park. Dog Friendly. Pls always curb n lease your pets. Not handicapped friendly. So keep in mind strollers will be difficult to get to the play area. Picnic tables and lots of Maple and Poplar trees to relax underand enjoy nature sounds along with an occasional trolley that rolls through.
Doggie haha
DIRT BIKES AND ATVS NOT ALLOWED. Park is for walkers bikers and joggers. LAME
Springfield Trail is a real gem! Cant wait for it to be better signed throughout.
Great trails
Great place for dogs to burn off the extra energy they have also good for socializing them.
I mean. Its ok?
This 120+ acre parkSmedley Park, located on 120 acres of land between Media and Springfield, attracts many outdoor enthusiast, scout groups, and local sports teams. The park has a picnic pavilion with one working barbecue and broken barbecue. The park has two playgrounds for children, ball fields, trails and walking bridges over Cum Creek. The park also has the Environmental Center and the Lewis House, headquarters of Penn States Cooperative Extension of Delaware County.
Would like more of a trail park but its just mostly a wide area of grass and ground.
Great park
Nice, relaxing small park. A good place to picnic.
Nice hike....great memories
Nice place to walk with the dogs.
I like smedley park
Great place to mtb and walk dogs. Trails are always kept clean and organized.
Treacherous trails, great workout hiking them. Beautiful scenery, streams, waterfally things, BUGS! NO WATER AREAS PREPARE!! Fallen trees look like gnome homes. Lol. Fun to explore.
Its so beautiful and clean, the air is fantastic. I would recommend anyone to go here
Very cool and lots of fun trails
Fishing was great. Alot of small fish for small kids. Its great
Sit back..relax..enjoy!!
This is a great park with a playground and lots of open space to bring your dog.
A very quiet place to sit especially when stress
Smedley is a great place to hike with the kids and observe nature.
Always a nice park to walk around in, usually pretty clean, and police make presence known alot which is nice to make others feel comfortable
Fun for the whole family
The porta pottys are filthy! The grounds look unkept for gatherings. The mens and ladies rooms were locked! The grounds are to steep downward for seniors. They fear falling. The grounds are also riddled with tree roots protruding upward as potential tripping hazards. Overall the park appears neglected. Realizing it is a public park, the picnic areas need to be inspected regularly and better lavatory facilities need to be provided. Wont be going back till changes are made!
A great little slice of nature and a wonderful place to spend time with the family or to take a walk.
My family lives across the street from the park.its a great place to enjoy the outdoors
Lots of space for activities.
Great outdoor experience for hiking, picnicking, kite flying, soccer, fishing, being surrounded by flora and fauna just seconds from the blue route. We will be returning.
Very pretty trail. Somewhat busy, but still nice.
Nice little haven in the middle of suburbia. Great network of Mtb trails.
Nice quiet place to walk during day.
Really fun play ground and trail
Great place to make a legal u-turn.If I get a chance to spend more time I will expand on this.
Went there for a family picnic. The park has playground toys for children and picnic tables for your use. There are also bathrooms and Porta-potties available. Grass is well maintained. We had a pleasant experience there.
Nice and open!
Great time with my puppy Pez
A hidden gem right in the middle of Delaware county. Great for biking, hiking, nature exploring, picnics, dog walking & running.
I do not recall visiting this park.
Nice, clean, and big. Love taking my kids here. Tons to do.. trails, play grounds, open fields. Great.
Wonderful park for walking through tucked away in Springfield. There are clear paths, but no clear markings for where they go, so for those who like to wonder or have a good natural sense of direction, its great. The trails sit under 476 so the park has a lot of road noise, but that didnt bother me. There are at least two playgrounds with the biggest one being all the way at the end of the road.
It is still just a nice park and great trails for hiking
Beautiful park good trail for young kids or anyone just looking to explore nature
For 60 years I have been coming to Smedley Park. I loved the swings and see saws as a child. I used the vita course until it disappeared. I love the creek even though it is not clean water. An old paper mill created toxic waste, I was told today, and even though a huge clean up happened, it is still not clean. There is nothing like a trail in the cool woods along a creek on a hot day. My dog enjoys swishing in the creek to cool off. I like to search for garnets in the streams. It helps to know that this park is patrolled. Drug users seem to like the 140 acres too. Fortunately the bikers are considerate of the hikers on these sometimes narrow and steep trails.
Nice park, watch for bugs though.
