Doling Park is a beautiful natural retreat nestled in the heart of North Springfield. With its historic beginnings, clear cold creeks, a pond, caves and walking trails, this park is a refreshing retreat for families, couples or just yourself. There are playgrounds, grills and pavilions... And an indoor swimming pool. Oh, your canine friends will enjoy a walk here as well-mine do!

It is a beautiful park and there is a lot of community history in the park. It is also a beautiful park and there are plenty of places for photo ops. The bridge and the water are great and the colors are great right now as well. It is a beautiful setting for weddings too. The pavillion is also really nice and a great place to rent.

The park was beautiful. It had so many different trails to explore. And several places for the kiddos to play. Also, it was very nice and clean and had gorgeous caves to checkout. But, the only negative about it is that there is an abundance of crackhead later in the evenings. So just be sure to lock your car and belongings up. Other than that its a lovely park

Nice park with lots of shade and picnic tables. Sits largely on a hillside with a pond at the bottom but slope is gentle and the walkways are paved. Pavilions, BBQ grills, water, and restrooms are available.

The park itself is beautiful, its the people that ruin it by littering, not reading signs about why to not feed the wild life...waterfowl means the ducks and geese people...smh...sigh. My family still enjoyed themselves just wish people would use some sort of intelligence and be considerate of nature. Be thankful for parks...one day they might not be there anymore...sniffle sniffle

I love history. Just as much, I enjoy repurposed history; places that were at one time a notable location (battlefield, bustling community, working factory, etc.), and are now a strolling park, a living museum, or a medical center. Doling park is one of these. Up until the 1920s, this place was a pretty well-visited amusement park, filled with rides, a small zoo, a large water slide, a roller skating facility, and many other attractions. Now, its a family park with, fishing, water features, an aquatic center, a museum, and many other facilities to fill a day. There are caves on the site, lots of informational signage, and plenty of other enjoyable tidbits.

I always enjoy this park for the short trails. There isnt any intense hiking, just mild trails that lead to the quarry. I remember climbing on top of the cave often, and yes, the toads come out at night so please be careful where you step.

Want to give it a 4.5. I love this park, but one of the things I wish they would improve the the “trails.” It’s a small circle less than a half mile long and begins and ends in the same spot. It would be cool if they would at least loop it around the whole property.Indoor facilities are great, and they have a great staff.Lake is beautiful when the water level is up, but it still looks pretty good even if it’s been a bit dry.

I have been going to this park for most of my life. It is amazing all around. The water is beautiful and the cave is wonderful and intriguing. The pavilions are mostly clean with grills near some of them, as clean as outside picnic tables can get. Just watch out for the water foul and please if you feed them, bring food that they can find in nature, to keep them healthy, and so the pond does not get covered in algae. The trails are a fun walk, or small hike. There is plenty of room for sports and play. There is a bathroom by the playground area, and up the hill, there is a family center. There is even a few geocaching spots to find. Fun alone, with family, even a date. Come in rain or sun to enjoy this beautiful park.

In town for a brief visit. So, I stopped by my old stomping grounds. Nixa schools was dropping kids off for a cave tour and I thought I might get my opportunity to see in the cave again. Spoke with the Park rep who informed me that public cave tours are available on Sats. Unfortunately, I am unable to be here on a Sat. and,I am only in town for a few days. I was disappointed that he would not make a concession and let me have a viewing either with or after the school tour. Perhaps I will have another opportunity in the near future. Just sucks that it couldnt have happened today!

It is a beautiful park no question. I am disabled and a very small female. The elderly population saw me sit and rest near the senior center and reported me to the park. Because I was just sitting and not bothering anyone the park rangers apologized to me. The elderly man that reported me still followed me to my car in his pick up and continued to follow me as I left the park. I am scared to go back

I dont know much about the park (it seems nice), but there is a cave here that periodically has tours. I had never been in a cave before and it was amazing. It was the perfect mix of history, geology, and exploration. Theres a walking tour which is easy and doable for younger kids as well as a tunnel tour which is the same tour plus the option to crawl through a few tunnels (my favorite part).

Cheaper than swimming at the YMCA however the employees are not very hospitable. The pool is usually alot of fun for the kids especially. Just make sure they are not having swimming lessons when you plan to go. If they are, the kiddie pool area will only be A wading pool. And the slide will not be an option either.

I love it here! It is always clean and well kept. A little gem in the city of Springfield. The museum is well worth the trip. Doling has some amazing history. Call ahead to outdoor initatives division of Springfield Green County park board to see when they are doing cave tours. (No more tours till spring to protect the bats though). About 1000 feet in on the cave and the trail is paved but there will be some mud. Some really cool speleothems for such a small cave. Well worth checking out.
