An empty ball field. Its next to a high school and its locked all the time. This place has gone downhill fast. Not much to see or do there.
I come here to watch the ballers shoot hoops.
Love the courts... Jus redone.mm... My lil gymrat/nephew loves getting his work in there
There are a set of tennis courts here that suggest a former robust tennis program. About 8 courts and an offset pro-court for lessons; night lighting surrounds the facility. All are severely deteriorated with large gaps in concrete. It is a statement about the condition of most parks and recreation in Illinois. Sincerely a loss for our youngsters as well as our seniors in need of regular activity that do not have funds for private clubs. It is wonderful they have not been closed like the Lincoln Park, Isles Park, and Douglas Park Courts. We still use them and watch our steps. It would be a shame to see them go. It would take a private citizen donation to correct the situation. There is a paved area for basketball practice but not a competition court like the tennis courts were intended. I rated this a 3 for superior availability, great use potential, location in a densely populated area. If a pick-up board were put in that facility, there would be a lot of action on those courts. This is an area that cranks out athletes with college athletic scholarships. Super investment for a college with a top tennis program.
Went for a sliders game with some friends. Tickets are a good price, and the coupons they hand out are pretty much totally the price of your ticket. The food is a little overpriced but not bad. The sliders team is a commercial venture and they go out of their way to make their games a fun night for all ages. Seats are hard but relatively comfortable. Fireworks show was a blast.
The ball games are really nice but what I love most of all is the Santa house they use the same santa every year and he is great with the kids (of all ages )thank you the Snyder family
