Loved it!! But you need more signs on how to get there, really. We walked from the botanical gardens to get there.. but loved it when we finally got there! Please make better signs. The lady at the ticket booth was super great! She was awesome! We visited and laughed! Oh ya, P.S. I promise to also ask for a golf cart or something that they could have, for closing at night Thank you

We came during the mini fall festival and took the bonzai class. The class was fun and a great COVID safe activity! The garden was peaceful and beautiful until it started to get pretty busy and a cover band started, which didnt add to the meditative mood. But we had a great experience here. I hope they get to do the full fall festival next year! We will definitely come back for it!

Very nice stroll thru the gardens. Plenty of beautiful flowers and trees. Nice shade. I recommend April and May, plus late September-Oct. Opens at 10 a.m. I don t remember when it closes. The park where the garden is located is also a great place to visit. Long 2 mile walking trail but easy to navigate around plus a nice lake.

Gorgeous affordable place to get some nature and relax! This place could take 15 mins or an hour to go through depending on how much youre taking in all the little details and sights.Happy to see plenty of animal friends too like the flocks of geese and turtles in the ponds. Definitely heard plenty of frogs too!

Absolutely amazing. So peaceful and the plants and water features are splendid. Located in Nathaniel Greene park but does require a 4$ fee to get in but is absolutely worth it. Youll find winding paths that take you by beautiful Japanese designed and inspired art work and landscaping. Definitely worth your time to check this place out. You will not regret it.

We moved from the area years ago, and this place right here is one of the places I miss the most! Traveling to the Sister City in Japan is one of my bucket list items, so I try to stop here as often as I can! Such peace and serenity is rarely found today, so if you need to clear your mind, definitely put this place near the top of the list!

Oh was it beautiful and inexpensive!!!! We loved it BUT there are no names of the trees/plants. Receptionist said, Japanese do not like naming/labeling things so they make a brochure to kinda go by. Many plants are not listed. We so enjoyed seeing plants but I really would have enjoyed knowing their names. It would be like going to a zoo to see animals and not knowing/seeing their names.

The best $3 admission weve spent in a while. The Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden offers a pleasant walk through a variety of pathways, with Asian plantings and garden art. Several small buildings, ponds, etc. Very zen and relaxing.I wasnt feeling my best that day, and wish I could have enjoyed it more. Its an easy stroll EXCEPT if you want to try the stepping stones across the water. Theyre a little far apart for short legs ... I got onto the first one, turned around and hopped back onto dry land :) Its an excellent location for photographers, and we saw a couple of pros photographing their clients in various poses and spots. Bet the shots came out beautifully.

Review №74

A very pleasant place to walk. It has all the required features of a Japanese garden. The reason I didnt give it 5 stars is that one measure of a Japanese garden is how much they fit into a small place, and the resulting hidden spots. The designer of this garden had no space restrictions.

Li
Review №75

I appreciate that Springfield has tried to create an interesting park but this Japanese garden very lack luster. It is mostly a grassy space with a few Asian elements dotted around an unpleasant path. It seems more like a cheap weekend project than a curated garden. Even if you stop to enjoy everything there it will take less than a half an hour to get through. It costs money to enter and I am not clear where those funds are going, but it doesnt seem to be the Japanese garden. It still looks the same as the first time I visited it years ago. There is lots of room to improve.

First time being here and it was beautiful.

Jo
Review №77

From what I understand this garden has a sister garden or some kind of counterpart in Japan. That is not super relevant but interesting. I thought so anyway which means most of you wont, I digress.I dont know if its just a certain personality type or what but to me Japanese gardens are the Swedish massage with hot rock treatment and aromatherapy of outdoor activities, the Maybach backseat with chilled Crystal of landscaping as it were. I guess what Im just trying to say is that the Japanese stroll garden is the best and I suddenly realize Im unexplainably and suddenly in a great state of mind complete with inner peace and contentment. That is, until I have to leave at which time, I revert to equally as unexplainable and sudden wistful sadness because I wish I could just stay there for the rest of my life. Japanese stroll garden is the definition of opposite of work. You should go, youd probably like it and those cosplay kids who seem to be in frequent attendance, can get pretty creative with those cool outfits, you got admit.

A beautiful walking park. I was a little surprised at having to pay an entrance fee for a city park. Especially after moving to Springfield from Louisville, Kentucky, which has 140+ year-old Olmstead parks, (designers of: Central Park, Boston Commons, the U.S. Capitol), all connected by miles of tree lined Parkways, a huge Ohio riverfront park with a new pedestrian bridge crossing to Indiana, all of which can be enjoyed free of charge.

It’s a beautiful stroll garden, but to pay $4 per person to walk through a park is ridiculous. $8 for two people to walk through a garden is too much. i wouldn’t mind paying like $2 per person but seriously?! I know up keep on a garden is not anything near what they’re charging to enjoy a view.
