Such a beautiful park, and the dog park is really nice too. The only downside is how people have the audacity to bring their aggressive dogs and attempt engage them with other dogs. Other regulars have been consistent in calling the police when these people do bring their dogs, which has helped to resolve some of the issues.
New experience for us & the dog... Other dog owners made it a good one! Well be back.
Huge fields of beauty for your dog to run and frolic. Great park!
Use to be great place now theres a guy out there with two bigDogs that bite other animals...
Great place to hang out under the gazebo, nice parking for a bike trail and dog park
Nice people there today with their dogs. Will go back.
The dog run is great. My advise try to go when it isnt too crowded. Less fights between the dogs.
Not my thing. You dont know if other dogs have had all there shots. Or if there aggressive. Plus very muddy if it been raining.
Its the only park with an off leash area for dogs. The off leash area is locked. Thats kinda dumb since parks themselves are open. Theres plenty of parks with plenty of space. There needs to be more off leash areas instead of just the horty torty west side.
Great place for the dogs to play with other dogs, playground and bike trail too. Just be aware that the dog park gets very muddy when its wet out.
Good place to go with your dogs. Friendly people, its also a really big place for them to run. Theres a big dog area and a small dog area.
Great place for dogs. Would be 5 stars if people would stop bringing their mean dogs to the park to fight. Also, people putting their large dogs in the small dog pen is annoying.
A very nice place although I do not own a 4 legged friend Im sure would be a fun place for them but its a nice place to just sit rest and relax
Very nice dog park, they have 2 sections one for small dogs and one for large dogs, both parks are very big.
Could have better lighting, otherwise great for fur babies
Hill, play-pool, drinking water, secure fence, double in/out gate, civilized dogs and people. Great spot!
Great place to let your dogs run and have a good time
Has good playground
A great place for my dog to run and play. Only downside is theres occasionally dogs that are not well suited for this environment. Ive had a couple run-ins where a dog was being aggressive towards my dog and the owner did nothing about it. Thankfully the good times and good owners outweigh the bad.
Fun to see the dogs and get doggie kisses as I have a bunch of Cats
Great place go to run and socialize your dog. When wet, can be very messy however.
Great place to bring your pups....
Awesome place to take your dogs! Came from out of state and the park was full of balls. My dog was so happy lol
Nice bike trail
The park has an interesting layout but theres enough room to play and a covered area.
Great dog park, two fenced in areas for your dogs. One for big dogs and one for small dogs. Great, walking or bicycling path.
Its a good place to take my overactive dog to burn some energy. Most of the people who visit keep control of their dogs, although, the people who dont seem to have more agressive dogs (which shows more about the owner than anything). I just wish it werent so muddy.
Very well kept dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. Very active community. Nearly always has someone at the park for your dog to play with. Dog park has many toys, a pool, and an obstacle course as well. There is also a large bike and walk path that will lead you to two other parks.
Was a great place to have lunch while the fur babies stretched their legs. Was passing through and they needed a break
Great park to bring your dog too! They have two large fenced areas to let your dogs off leash. One for smaller dogs and another for larger breeds. There are bags at stations around the park in case you forget to bring your own. People are always nice and friendy although sometimes certain dogs dont get along. Most of the time owners are attentive and it doesnt escalate. Ive never seen anything more than rough play. There are also two long walking/biking paths in case things arent working for you in the pens. Theres a large soccer field and I think a baseball field as well. The also have parking closer to the enclosures for people with disabilities. Not to mention a playground up near the front parking.
This park was amazing! They had separate parks for the large and the small dogs. They had lots of toys available, fresh water, and pools. I cant believe it is free!
My dog likes it, but dont take her there often. There are 2 pens, one for large dogs and 1 for small dogs. The small dog area is, just, too small.
Muddy, put our dog loved it.
Great park with lots of room for the large dogs. Ive been to lots of dog parks through the states and this was definitely one of the better ones.
Lets start with the positive: nice big area for the large dogs, some trees, shaded area. Negative: can be muddy, small dog area is small. Owners NOT following rules. Its supposed to be a safe place for dogs to run and play, unfortunately there are some owners that DONT know the difference between play and aggression. And the reasoning behind neutered and spayed dogs only. Be aware of the people that dont follow the rules. I like the park so my dog will be back when I see the owners that can follow the rules.
Well maintained.
This is a great, wide open park with the best fenced in dog park in the city. The dog park features two pens; one for larger dogs and another for smaller breeds and puppies. It also feature a paved section of a great long distance bike and home trail.
My dog, my husband and I love this place
Perfect place to let your dog run and socialize with other dogs.
Great place to relax and enjoy you dog
Stuart park is a lovely area with some small walking and biking trails, a playground, and a large field as well as the dog park. We go for the dog park. There are actually two, a small dog park and a big dog park. People are very friendly and respectful. Ive never had an incident with my dog, and dogs that get nervy or aggressive are generally taken away without people having to ask. The only thing I could wish to change would be that the small dog park has none of the equipment for the dogs that the big one does, ramps etc. It is mostly just a small field, like it was a later addition.
The pups love the dog park!
Great place if you can find a time when no one or just the regulars are there. Too many times have I had to leave when aggressive dog arrive. Its not the dogs fault, its the owners for not socializing their dogs properly.
Nice open area with plenty of fenced in dog space.
My dog plays in the side for big dogs and loves it! There isnt much to the small dog area though, could use some more attention
I just pedal on by this place but looks like a bunch of dog people that dont know what else to do with their dog
Great place to bring dogs with nearby trails
The park is great but the people that bring dogs that do t get along with others and do nothing about it is the problem so we havent been back yet not going to put my dogs at risk because so some else csnt watch there own dog
Great for walking, biking and running. Lots of shade. Sometimes walkers need to pay closer attention when bikers are ringing their bells or announcing their intention to pass.
Wonderful biking, jogging and walking path. Round trip on path equals around 11-12 miles. Dog park is located here as well, but dont bring small dogs.
This is a beautiful dog park. It was nice and clean.
I love it however my cats hate it3
Well maintained and accessible
Great dog run although could be bigger and all the stuff on the large dog run should be fine n the small dog run.
Rhe park is ok the dog park wasnt the greatest experience people with aggressive dogs should not be there at all we had to leave because a lady would not control hers so we will not be returning there
My puppy loves coming here and playing with other dogs. Its a great experience and helps him be social.
Wonderful park- love it!
The Nats are annoying and mosquitoes are bad but once you get over that the kids have fun...
Such a nice park..good place to bring your pup and let them run.
People need to be better at cleaning up after their dogs.. plenty of bags provided ..real lucky to have this
Its a nice area and a great thing to have in Springfield.
I love bringing my dog here and visiting the dog park. He has so much fun.
Great for dogs they have a separate spots for big dogs and little ones. Great open area for flying kites and there is a playground.
The big dog area is a nice size and there is plenty of access to water. Its a little weird that the cleanup bags are kept so far from the area so remember to get them first if you didnt bring any!
Lots of fun with my doge
Nice place to bring the dogs!
Great place for your dogs to run & play
Jumped on the SVT here
One of the better parks, not because of its amenities (though it does have a small baseball diamond, a couple short nature trails, and port a potties) but because it is the other end of the Centennial bike path.
A nice, free dog park with areas for both large and small dogs. It has shelters with picnic tables and some obstacles for the dogs to play on. My only complaint is that it can get pretty muddy.
Nice dog park, run/bike track, and kids playground.
Nice big area for the big dogs. Plenty of room to run. Bring bug spray!
Unfortunate. Terrible parking. Dog park is quite a distance from parking lot. And the park is a muddy mess. And Google maps cant find the park.
Had a Graduation Party there! It was a Beautiful Day there!
Always a bunch of dogs at the dog park! Plus a large field perfect for sports or a nice picnic.
Great place to go be outside, as it has a large playground and fields for every sport, a dog park and its one end of the bike path
Very nice and quaint with nice dog parks in the back
An evolving dog park, thanks to cooperation between the park district and dog park users
Nice amount of space, but not so big you have to worry about losing track of your dog. Water fountain for people and dogs, water bowls, and a wading pool. Nice Pavillion with picnic tables. It was epically hot this morning so we sure needed that shade. The only downsides:1. Theres no parking near the park unless you have a handicap placard.2. The Porta potty is revolting.
Only dog park around and has a great fenced in yard to let your dogs run around and play
Nice free dog park. Needs a little tlc though
Nice place to run the dog.
No restrooms
Very nice
Based on the reviews I was looking forward to visiting the dog park. Turns out that most of the people going here must not know how to pick up after their dog, because there is poop eeeeeeverywhere. Why even come to a public dog park if youre going to let your pup make a mess and leave that mess for others? I dont get it.Additionally the park is supposed to be open until 10 pm, but as there is no lighting whatsoever it is pretty much impossible to use after sunset.
Love taking my dog here
Nice little small park
Double entry gate for security in and out for fenced in play area
Great bike trail.
Google maps Is WAY off on directions!
It was ok all though the water fountain need to be fixed.
Wow, dogs!
