Such a pretty park especially in the fall! Tons of trails, some that are gravel and others that are nicely mowed dirt trails through the woods. They have a great playground and picnic table area. They also have a really nice archery range here where you can site in your bows and they have scenarios set up in the woods to try out including tree stands you can practice from. Something for everyone here!

Great place for a walk, especially with a dog. If your dog is a water lover, even better. Our Pyrador (Pyrenees/Lab mix) LOVES this park. Wide open green spaces to run, huge creek to play in. Lots of space & you can see other dogs/people coming from quite a distance to releash.

I love coming out here. The playground is decent, in great shape, and its secluded. Very large, you could get lost for a half hour, definitely, before realizing. Not much hiking, but beautiful trails. Bring bug spray and snacks!

Beautiful park located on the north side of Springfield, Missouri. There are beautiful walking trails, and a small playground area for kids, grandkids and adults that still act like kids. One word of warning.... from the parking area up front by the main entrance, its quite a hike to the caves, river and lake. Maybe 1/2 mile or so is my guess. Theres no fishing allowed here either.Open daily from 7:00am to 7:30pm. A wonderful experience for the whole family.... Dogs OK but must be on a leash!

For an expansive walking trails park, its awesome. Got a hunting bow, practice range. Decent size playground, and lots of grassy trails that lead down to a spring fed creek.

The park is absolutely beautiful, but you do need to be aware that the main areas are probably a quarter of a mile into the park. There’s a really nice parking lot and play area right at the entrance, but the actual pretty stuff it’s just a few minute walk away. I shot an engagement session here and I didn’t realize how far away I was going to have to take the couple. Luckily they were really nice even though the future bride was wearing heels.

Love the open grassy paths nestled in the forest and the cool spring water. A great place to take kids or dogs. The lake is a little stagnant for wading, but there adjacent streams & paths are nice, shaded & relatively flat. Perfect place for some cool water on a hot day.

This park always impresses. The views and animals are always amazing! Nice trails throughout the entire park. Cave as well, though it is a bit hard to get to during the summer hours as the shrubbery coveres the trail.

This is a lovely park which I highly recommend visiting. The landscape is gorgeous, there are picnic tables, play grounds, and grills. There are many trails to walk/hike along and they are all enclosed in the forest making hiking an enjoyable experience. Down by the river bed, theres a lot of space which is very nice as well. Limited trash, overall good park.

I think Missouri, Springfield specifically, needs to spend more time and money and energy to make sure that people are using, enjoying, and maintaining these public parks. There are events at some parks that I never hear about and would have been interested enough to go. There needs to be more ads, posters, and publicity. I know enough from college to make some posters. Springfield News Leader. Please hire me.

If you’re looking for a park for kids to play it’s got that. And it’s nice. But the rest of the 200 acres are closed to the public. So no hiking and they’re not very nice if you walk through the gate which was open. The bathrooms were closed as well. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Never even heard of this park. Its a hidden treasure. Attended a Wedding at the Pavilion. Though rustic, which added to the natural beauty, every thing was clean and in good working order. Really great that the Pavilion is at a dead end and traffic is restricted to rental guest traffic.

My dogs love it there, and theres so much wildlife in the lakes and streams! Theres dozens of turtles, whether theyre coming up for air or basking on the banks. You can also see the shadows of fish just below the surface. The trails have so many options tbat its easy to feel like the only person in the park, but they all lead to a wide open area, so its almost impossible to get lost. Theyre also very well-maintained, kept mowed and neat. There are some deer trails that go through the underbrush, to the more remote parts of the park, and those get slick, but its a deer path.. I wouldnt expect anything different. Definitely recommend this park, for anything you would be interested in doing. (The paths are flat enough for mountain bikes, and theres also a paved path for the most relaxing rides)

The City of Springfield needs to improve the road into the park and they need to donate more funding to Archery course inside the woods and not just for the practice targets behind the pavilion !!!!

Ra
Review №76

Its a sess pool. The creeks are nice, but the lake they call it is basically a very large cow pond thats non-moving, with a thick film build up on top of the water. Theres a port-a-potty. Its a long walk, and when you hear the words pavilion and lake what do you personally picture in your head ? Its a disappointment.
