So happy and enjoyable things to do. Things are for sale in the gift shop. I believe that the items are all hand made.

This is an excellent adult Center for all sorts of activities. it is also a location they run many social programs out of such as energy assistance. Even though I live about 20 miles away I often come here to the Willamette Lane adult activity Center. They have classes every day all day long and everything from yoga to financing. and even if you dont have a class to go to its a great place to just hang out and meet some people. Its also in a very wonderful beautiful setting.

I was pretty offended on behalf of my mom who has MS. My mom asked me to support her by going swimming with her during the 1-3 Saturday swim. I brought my two friends who are trying to lose weight and be more active. We swim a little slow, and dont look like a professional swimmer with goggles and swim caps but we are doing our best and going at our pace. We politely shared 2 lanes between the 4 of us. During our swim a lifeguard asked us 4 to share a lane because we swim slow and another person wanted our lane. Afterward my mom asked to talk to him and asked why we 4 had to share a lane and why the other man couldnt share with someone who swam faster instead of making us swim 4 to a lane. This is when a simple apology would have sufficed. Instead the life guard said the world didnt revolve around her and that he needed to accomodate others. I have never been so offended. These lanes are first come first serve. We paid to be there. And we were already sharing lanes. This life guard was so rude to my mom and didnt even try to treat us fairly.

If there are interesting people there I did not meet them on any of the few occasions I went by. Overfunded government facility that does feed people and is clean. Surly staff and very rigid unfriendly policies particularly for DEAF and hearing impaired. Ken Kesey must have seen this place.

Really disappointing. Two of the four Urban Homestead classes I paid for were cancelled. After the first cancellation, I sent an email regarding a refund, no one ever responded.I had to call twice to get the refund processed and when I did I was told the upcoming class I had registered for had five people already, and it would not be canceled. Well, it was cancelled, the day before, which prevented me from taking it elsewhere as it was the last of that class being offered by Kevin (who is really great by the way). When I called about the refund for that class, Jennifer explained that the instructor was spreading himself too thin and they would be working with him on this going forward. She basically blamed him for the cancellation, when it was Willamalane who decided that five paying people was not enough to allow the class to take place -- really unprofessional. This class was offered at two centers, one took place and one (with Willamalane with five registrants) was cancelled.Jennifer also said the refund of the two classes would be adjusted as I paid for the whole series, which included a discount. The refund was less the entire discount, though I attended the two they didnt cancel. Its just a few dollars, not a big deal and certainly not worth having to deal with them for, but really tacky the way they handled it.If you have a minimum attendee requirement, you should state this so people who are really looking forward to it dont buy from you when they have other choices with other centers who do not cancel. If you cancel a class you should issue a refund. Period. The correct amount of a refund given the circumstance and discount.I will never register for a class here again. Going forward, I will buy from out-of-district community centers, pay the extra and make the drive. At least that way I will be able to take the classes that I rearrange my schedule for. So much for encouraging people to support their own communities.

Nice place to relax and get a little time on computer & has bathroom facilities, paperback books and vcr&dvd tapes you can take home and lunches (hot) you can buy. Also has a nice billiards room along with a program in pottery and woodworking! Outside of this place is a very lovely park called, Island Park, which, I think about oneof the best in Springfield!

I have been fortunate to utilize WAAC for fifteen plus years. I find it simply a very impressive facility that is committed to the community at large by offering to the senior population an assortment of enjoyable and worthwhile activities to list a few:: Art classes: poetry to jewelry making, Lectures: legal advice to driver safety, classes: home brew to bird watching, a computer learning center, games card to table tennis, fitness classes: Nia, Oigong, Flexablity, Tai Chi, Yoga and Zumba Music and Dance. Services: Foot care to Senior Meals, Income tax assistance and support groups. Travel: Day trips, Birding, Overnight trips and special Destinations. Once more I am very much impressed.
