Awesome family environment. However they updated with a digital screen on the back of the stage and it totally takes live theater out of the show. Ive been going since I was a very small child but it was so removed from the live theater and all the props they make for the shows that it took out some of the experience for me.

I’ve been going to the Muni for over 25 years. The talent is exceptional, the shows are fabulous and the property is beautiful. So thankful for this gem in central Illinois and for the all the volunteers who make the Muni what it is: a beautiful place to celebrate the performing arts under the stars.

I really enjoyed my time at The Muni last night, the show it was very good, some interesting creative license taken in certain scenes of the play, The Wizard of Oz, very humorous changes I might add! The company was excellent, the weather was actually pretty good, and I was also very impressed with how efficiently the traffic was directed in leaving the facility! I was also impressed with the facility itself! I just had a really good time!

Just saw Peter Pan here with my kids who are 2, 4, and 5. They loved it and had a good time running around in the field with the other kids during intermissions. We got general admission tickets and were comfortable with blankets and pillows on the lawn.They actually all stayed awake for the entire play and are still talking about it today My parents got seats and enjoy seeing Gus Gordan in his many varied roles at the Muni. Bravo

Wizard of Oz...my favorite movie as a child... I have never seen the stage version but I believe I enjoyed it as much or more than the movie version. Judy Garland was missing... but the whole crew was excellent...the dancers were adorable. My friend and I loved it! Very reasonably priced for the quality.

We have loved going to the Muni since our kids were young, and now on Saturday we plan to bring our 5 year old granddaughter to see Peter Pan!!! I know she will totally enjoy her first Muni experience! :) Love the outdoor seating, beautiful starlit sky, wonderful entertainment and NO MOSQUITOES!!!! :)

First time at the Muni, even though its so close. Great venue, with seating, lawn seating, concessions, restrooms, and BYOB. Peter Pan was playing and it was fabulous! The cast did a great job and all the special effects were amazing. Lots of talent all the way around. I definitely recommend going to the Muni and, especially to see Peter Pan! The only drawback is the parking. Its in grass and with all the rain weve had, it was a mess. There was at least one car stuck as we were leaving, creating a back up.

Wonderful watching local talent at its best. Outside venue so be sure to take bug spray.

This is an amazing theater thats outdoors! They always have the best shows and you have to go here if you are into theater!

The Springfield Muni is a wonderful place to watch a show. Its a relaxing outdoor setting. Lawn seating is available if you bring a chair or blanket. There is a very nice concession stand with sandwiches, pizza, and other snacks available, however are you also able to bring a picnic lunch and wine and eat on the patio tables if you desire. Ample parking, nice restroom facilities. Many of the shows are family friendly!

Great productions, good prices, and a fun night for the family. Our kids really enjoy it too, as long as the weather cooperates!

You need to visit this outdoor theater! The shows are first class. Yes its not necessary fancy, but its our theater. I started going a few years ago and havent missed a single show! You wont be disappointed!

I saw Sister Act and it was phenomenal. The singing was great, and the open air theater allowed them to really let it out. The musical was fun, you could tell the actors were having a blast. It rained before we came, and we got there early enough that they dried off our seats. Also, we had someone in our party who couldnt walk far, they had go-carts to help. It was a lot of fun and I recommend going to the Muni!

Millie was the best! Always love seeing Anna and of course Zaxxson was the best!

Great place for live performances. Free parking and reasonable prices for tickets and concessions. Good place for a seniors, date night, or a family outing. Bring your own chairs or blanket for lawn seating or get reserved seating.

Definitely need to go early to get a good seat. I would also recommend bringing bug spray. The shows are very well produced and my kids even enjoy going. Its an outdoor theater so bring your lawn chairs and snack and enjoy the show.

A staple of Springfields community theater scene. The shows are generally enjoyable. With four (or so) shows a year, theres probably something for everyone throughout the season. If you get there early, you can bring dinner and eat in a picnic area with a group. Downsides are that the shows start a bit late and it can get a bit buggy.

A fun place to meet up with friends and see a great musical. Bring your own picnic basket!

I love this venue for watching extremely high quality community theatre productions. Run entirely by volunteers, this is a must visit spot for our family every summer.

I have seen 3 plays here and hope to see more! The acting, music, and production is overall wonderful! If you want to see a good musical and have a night out with your family The Muni is the place to go. :)

What has happened to AMERICA....all of a sudden...Evil if good and laughed at......and good is evil and shunned.IN AMERICA TODAY....our minds have been conditioned to accept and to tolerate any and everything which comes along.... if we wish to teach our young children right from wrong.....we must not subject them to SweeneyTodd........an opera is for acting and singing.....not for supporting violent acts......which may cause the chickens to come back home to roost when we are in our eighties and depending on our youth of today for our future care. Keep the Muni a family oriented venture !
