Great place to take your kids. There is a little kid and big kid side. There are bathrooms as well. It is a short walking distance from restaurant and other downtown shops.

Pleasant afternoon in the park! Hot and steamy that day but the park has lots of shade. If you get hungry theres lots close by to take care of that. Nestled in the middle of downtown Southern Pines in the old historic district the park sits on a one way street with a few stores and boutiques, then a train track and the opposite one way street and more stores and boutiques and a great ice cream store. Come in March/April when the azaleas are blooming along the tracks and youll avoid the summer heat!

This is a great park with a lot of shade and many things to do nearby. We like to take our puppy there to train and socialize. Highly recommended.

Grandchildren loved it, but it was a little crowded. People are, obviously, tired of being cooed up at home.

Great park for everyone. Plenty of playground for the children and sitting space for the adults. Historical information on plaques to read while walking around the park and fantastic trees to climb. There is an area where children can pick up a book to read or fix their bike if it needs air in the tires. Will definately go again

Great public place for kids and families of all ages. They have separate playgrounds and swing sets for 3 different age groups, plus seesaws, sandboxes and much more. A nice restroom facility sits in the parks center and multiple basketball and tennis courts sit around the outside. The park is incredibly lit until midnight during the summer. And is almost entirely shaded by the beautiful magnolias and enormous oaks. The town hosts numerous events here, from farmers markets to free outdoor movie nights. And it is conveniently located in the center of downtown, just feet from a plethora of shops and restaurants.

Grandkids had a great time! Plenty of options for them to enjoy plus room to run around.

Unsure why they have the basketball courts still closed but tennis courts arent as well as multiple people playing volleyball and utilizing the playground

Such a nice shaded playground. Clean bathroom facilities and plenty of benches for parents. The sand pit is an excellent idea, be sure to bring your shovel!

We always have a great experience at this park. So much stuff for the kids to do, and most of the equipment lets multiple kids play at one time.

A well groomed park with restrooms centrally located in center. Playground for children of all ages. On weekends the local farmers market opens. Several local businesses come together to hold a free movie night in the grassy section. Plenty of places to sit under some grand old Magnolia trees.

Nice, clean, and a great place to meet other people in the community. Many groups meet up there for various things like play groups, run groups, pick up basketball games and tennis courts. Something for everybody.

Great for families! There are play sets for all ages, tennis courts, basketball courts, covered picnic tables, bathrooms, grassy areas, and places to walk. The parking is free around and in the park, as well as the whole park is right downtown, so you can park at dinner then walk over to the park. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place, so many events for the kids...movie night every month for free on projector screen...kids love it...and so many nice parents to meet n chat with at the park...also the squirrels love toasty peanut butter crackers!

Definitely one of the better playgrounds around. Play equipment is pretty new and in good shape, soft rubber grounds, fence around the whole area, good amount of shade, our kids enjoy it a lot

My favorite park. The only one in my opinion that caters to the under 5 crowd. The sandbox is always a huge hit and I love that it is shaded.

If it wasnt for this park, my kids wouldnt be playing basketball in college....And I say that because its true what my children learned playing basketball at the downtown SP park was more than just the game of basketball, they were taught character, perseverance, integrity, and respect for your fellow man. That through hard work dedication perseverance and motivation whatever you set your mind to you can accomplish.We have always lived within proximity of downtown which is really nice to have the park right there in the center for everyone to see! whenever they were little they would always look at the adults playing on the big courts In hopes that 1 day their game would be good enough so that they could compete at the highest level.Its one thing about the park, you cant fake your game there, you WILL be exposed so in order to play and STAY ON the court, you really have to know what youre doing. A lot of the guys that play there would have been able to play in college themselves had it not been for some of the pitfalls in life that hindered them from taking their game to the next level, so whenever they would see my boys (Zion and Jamaan Jr) trying to learn the game they would always give them advice on things that had nothing to do with basketball that was going to help them along the way like making sure they listened to your parents and getting good grades in school...Im forever grateful for it.I SPNC

I play basketball when Im in town, great places to meet new people! Love seeing smiling faces as Im playing basketball and enjoying myself!

Its still a great spot to meet and play, but I preferred the pervious equipment set - it was more expansive and the slides didnt hold as much heat.

The park is always exceptionally well taken care of. The bathrooms are always open and clean. The kids love the new playground and astro turf. As always, there are plenty of shady benches to sit down and read a book on.
