Very nicely setup, employees are walking around constantly sanitizing everything and keeping things clean. Very limited on the number of people that can be in there at a time. My daughters loved it, as they always have!

Come drink a cocktail, spill it on your shoes as you watch gorgeous sea creatures from the Philippines and lots of other ecosystems. Say hello to Claude, the albino alligator! Walk through the spherical rain forest and sit in the glass fish tunnel. Its all very biological and fun. It appears everyone here is on a hot date but plenty of fun groups too. In the summer, you can watch the sunset from the roof, where there is a sustainable garden.

Its so much fun! I love that its small and once level. Its easy to let the kids just run and parents can sit and watch . They have an area for concessions that you can relax at as well. Awesome membership prices if you get any kind of assistance.

My three year old had so much fun here, she could stay open to close. The water table and the air tunnels are very cool! So much to do, and pretty clean for the constant amount of chaos going on. If we lived closer, wed get a pass, would be well worth it in the cold winter months when you cant play outside. All around, fun and educational for bot me and my daughter.

Launch Pad is considered a childrens museum. Its family friendly and hands on.There are at least 12 different areas that kids can explore including a small spaceship, a news room (with functional camera, lights, and costumes), a two story barn (with interactive garden and a hen house with chickens for puppets). Some areas even include videos or posters discussing the ties that Iowa has with certain exhibits such as the farm area. They also show how nature works such as the large running water display which carries toy boats downstream or a little pond where kids can catch magnetic fish with poles. They also have a large scale that kids can stand on that tells them how much they weigh compared to leaves, milk cartons, apples, etc. Another monitor allows you to travel the world and hear how people in other countries greet each other.A group of ten of us (3 adults, 7 kids) visited and we loved it! The building was clean and organized and the staff was fantastic! At $8 per person this place is well worth the price! They also have season passes if you frequent Sioux City often. If youre taking a trip to a neighboring state you may also come across one of the dozens of other locations they have in other small and large cities.

We took my son and a couple of his friends for his 4th birthday in December. They all loved it and my son asks at least once a week since if we can go back. ... Very hands on, imaginative play. Great for crawling ages up to at least 7 or 8 years old. ... Hope they expand their funding and budget to make it bigger and more to do. A great adventure option for our Sioux Land area.

Educational fun for all kids! There are many things for kids of all ages to do and explore. Play stations include a restaurant and ice cream stand, a building area with wood and nuts and bolts. There is a puppet stage and a play TV studio with lights and cameras. There is a farm area and a life size cow to milk! A climbing area for the older kids will burn off a lot of energy. They have a giant water table that has many boats and a fishing pond. There is a closed off area for the little ones to play without bigger kids.

We were a little reluctant to bring my two year olds to LaunchPad because it seemed geared toward older kids, but they loved it! They spent a lot of time playing at each station and were determined not to be outdone by the older kids. I was impressed with how clean everything was. We will certainly be back.

My kids loved LaunchPAD. We live in the NW corner of Iowa, about an hour and 40 mins from Sioux City, and planned our afternoon around visiting LaunchPAD. Id never heard of it until I started seeing tv adverts for their Sloppy Science fundraising day. My kids are nine and 10 years old, so when we first walked in, I was a little disheartened that they might think it was a little immature for them and that theyd lose interest in the activities soon after we arrived. After about 15 minutes there, my qualms gave way to relief as I watched them flit from station to station. And after about 30 minutes, my 10 year old daughter, whos a bit reserved in new situations, put on an apron and hat & got to work behind the ice cream counter. I watched while my son and daughter role played together and with other kids as I havent seen them like that in a couple years! They were both so impressed with it and when we were leaving at closing time, my daughter asked if we could come back the following day. Unfortunately, because of the long drive its not something we can do regularly, but well definitely go again before school being in a few weeks, and itll be a go-to place when needing to break the monotony in the colder months. I thought the admission price was fair, snacks are limited but priced well, and the toys for sale are priced from $2 and up. I just wish I had a few more years than I do before they grow out of LaunchPAD!Highly recommend! Worth the (almost) two hour drive to Sioux City and well be back!

Fun experience, kinda pricey but its worth it, the exhibits are to teach kids and the interactivity is great for young kids. The river table is fun and teaches kids about running water and how water flows. The super market models what a real one is like and the realism is what could help kids know what to look for at a real store. Very fun for all ages.

We drove down from the Sioux Falls area, and our 7, 4, and 2 year-olds had a blast. My only gripe is that other parents were leaving the areas in shambles after their tornadoes went through (the mock grocery store, for example), or just not watching them at all. Dont come here expecting to take a break from parenting while your kids run amok.Being from up north, its hard not to compare it to the childrens museum in Brookings. This one is very similar in features, but smaller. Given the choice, I think we prefer Brookings, but its due to them having a little more due to size, not because of any shortcomings on LaunchPADs part.#letsguide

I visited twice this week with my 4-year-old. He loved it. I found the $8 entrance price high, but appreciated that teachers are FREE and they accepted my out-of-town teacher health insurance card as evidence. Our visit Wednesday late afternoon was excellent. Our visit today (mid-day Friday) was less so. When we arrived, there was a large day camp group there, and the facility was packed. The centers were a mess and LP staff nor day camp teachers were helping keep them organized or at times safe and fun. I made a complaint to the front desk about the behavior of two day campers. The LP staff member I talked to apologized and told me LP was short staffed. I asked for a manager, but those on site were in a meeting. Overall, I think LaunchPad is a great entertainment addition to Sioux City for people with little ones in their lives. I think they have some customer service kinks to work out and day camp/school group expectations to set and reinforce.
