Newly renovated and everything. And nice selection of paintings and sculptures. Was going to do a video to ride the elevator like famous elevator enthusiasts DieselDucy, JimLiElevators, Star City Elevators, and some others – only to find out that the second and third floors are closed to the public until further notice. Yes, were in the pandemic as far as I understand and that businesses need to restrict the number of patrons in public places to avoid the spread of the virus, and do their regular sanitizing routine.

The Sioux City Art Center is a really cool place! Considering that this is in a medium-size Midwestern city, the art center has a really impressive collection of work, is nicely designed, and does a great job of showcasing the art of local and regional artists. I was very impressed by the space, the friendliness of the staff, and the variety of work displayed throughout the building. The other great part is that its free, it has kid friendly options, and it makes for a very enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Please go check out the Sioux City Art Center if you have the chance!

A strikingly beautiful art museum. Always interesting art displayed from the permanent collection as well as special exhibits. And dont miss the Corn Room, a Grant Wood mural relocated from an old downtown hotel. Its so big it has its own room.In addition to Wood, the art center has a collection of other works by regional artists. And a collection of works by Corita Kent (which ought to be displayed more often). The art center is very engaged in the community, with classes for all ages and special events year round, including the annual Art Splash.

A beautiful place to look at art created by local and national artists. Theres and Maze built into the marble floor in the main floor, they have a kids section with a million Mega blocks, a light table, and white board and a mirror to draw on, as well as other artistic toys to create and inspire. The exhibits change often to provide fresh and interesting exhibits. Not only are there always great pieces inside, theres also art and sculptures outside as well. A great place to visit.

Nice little stop off I-29. There are some cool exhibits. Dont try to make a day of it, its not that big or great. One hour is plenty. The Lewis and Clark rest area down the road is more exciting. Its got a paddle boat. Nuff said.

We had a very nice visit. I took my first communion class there to finish up the communion plate and chalice they made. Everyone was very friendly and there are some nice exhibits. We will be getting a membership shortly and my wife plans on taking a Stained Glass making class. Go check this place out.

I find much of the art here to be truly inspirational, by which I mean I look at it and say, Ah hell, I could make art better than that, and so I do. Every time I am in there, I come up with an idea of something that I can do better. I do really like their Labyrinth.

Its free. There is a great little play area for kids on the first floor that has a huge Lego building area, a giant whiteboard with markers, a giant mirror with dry erase markers, 5 computers with kids games, a giant magnetic board and a couple other areas. The art here is nice. Up on the third floor is the traveling exhibits which are usually pretty good. They also offer classes here are reasonable prices.
