Linda, who works here, was a fabulous source of information on what Lewis and Clark did, about our Native Indians and what this facilities has to offer. So well done. Lindas help and information about the other places to visit was so appreciated. Thank you Linda.

Awesome place to hear about the early days of exploration of America. As a nation we need to remember our own past the good & bad, while forging onward into the unknown future of America filled with many traps to cause us to lose sight of the great republic our fore Fathers founded & fought for.

Nicely done displays including animatronics, photos and interactive activities. The grounds are beautiful. Also on the grounds is a Visitors Center that was an old river boat. The displays in both areas focus on the Lewis and Clark expedition as it touches on Iowa. No cost at either place.

Excellent little history stop here. Even without all the interactive exhibits (that were closed because of COVID-19), we got a lot out of it. How many people were on the Lewis & Clark expedition? How many died? How do you pronounce Sacagawea?... Find all that out and more here.

What a fabulous resource in an unlikely place! Right next to the Sioux Falls, Iowa welcome center is this fun Lewis and Clark informative center. The staff member was very kind and showed our kids all the cool things to do in the center. They have little passports for the kids to take around and get stamped. Super fun 30 minute stop to learn something new about the Lewis and Clark expedition.

My kids love visiting here when we have a vacation day. Its a good day trip from Sioux Falls and has many hands on activities to learn about the expedition, as well as what life was like back then. My kids love museums and, as homeschool parents, this is a great resource to help teach them Americas history.

Lots of cool Information, very good place to take kids to learn about the Lewis and Clark trail. They have a bunch of interactive stuff to do, and my favorite was trying to load a tiny boat with block it was very hard I never could do it. They also have life like people that even talk! There is also plants the Lewis and Clark would have collected!

Terrific presentation of Lewis and Clark journey housed in a great facility! The story is told in a manner that kept the kids involved. There are animatronic characters such as Thomas Jefferson and Seaman, the Newfoundland who accompanied Lewis and Clark, who help tell the story. The kids can sign up to be participants on the journey such as hunter, interpretor, private, or sergeant. They learn what each person did during the journey as well as hardships they faced.Very well worth an hour or so of your time. Best of all it is free! There is also a lovely garden outside, a picnic area and playground nearby.

Great place to learn more about Lewis & Clark. Never learned much about them in school but as an adult it’s fascinating. My granddaughter loved the interactive parts and the automated exhibits were amazing. My hat off to the designers job well done. Also, I was surprised that it was FREE!!!! We still put $20 in the donation box by the front door. Got the FREE OFFICIAL VISITORS JOURNAL and the guide book but purchased a hardback book as well. There is also a virtual theater that shows a short film continually. Take the whole gang, you won’t be disappointed.
