Brunckows Cabin is located just outside of Tombstone, AZ. It was built in 1858 by Frederick Brunckow. It is infamously known as the Bloodiest cabin in Arizona with at least 21 people dying there. Its not easy to get to and using Google Maps is almost a necessity. Youll have to trailblazer to get there. Its not far from the Old Charleston Rd and getting there is not particularly difficult but beware...there are open mine pits so be careful.Theres not much left of the cabin...a foundation and a couple of adobe walls is all thats left but its still a fun excursion just to say youve been there.Did I mention its also supposed to be haunted?

If you love history theres more here than meets the eye. This spot is not as hard to find as many claim. The easiest way is to park at the brunckow rd pull in and follow the wash to the West. I went super early and saw coyotes javalina an owl and bobcat tracks that followed me in. I say for two hours and could see why this spot was valuable to brunckow and the others who once lived there. The entire valley is visible and youd see anyone approaching for miles. Valuable for protecting yourself. Think tombstone might not be founded if brunckow builds somewhere else. The blm really needs to to more with this or let tombstone take it over. But somebody needs to do something.

A very historic site thats deteriorating. Thought to exist since 1868, research now shows that it may have been an occupied site since the 1830s.
