This site has some nice trails, but unfortunately mother nature cut our adventure short with some torrential rain.... lol

Nice area. I would say that based on my experience there isnt too much to see.

Signs about faded out by the sun and hard to read. But well marked. EXCEPT the road I passed it because there is no sign. I thought there was one. Did it get stolen? Great walk.

Interpretive stops cover most shrub and scrub of the area.

Nice self guided hike on loop trail, very informative about early humans and animals. But the other trails seem to run out and are overgrown.

Nice place and cleared path, the ramada in some pics is no longer there. If you bring lunch you can sit at some of the benches along the path.

A nice place to go on a hike theres not a lot here there is a forest style Outhouse restroom clean. Plenty of hiking trailsPlease note there is no shade here there are no picnic tables. The hiking trails do have lots of benches to sit and rest on and occasionally you can find a bench that is under a little bit of Mesquite shade. A great place to hike on a cloudy day in Autumn winter or spring do not go here in the summer unless you really know the Arizona desert in the summertime bring water bring food bring sunscreen bring sun hat sunglasses this is a very sunny place I like it it is really beautiful lots of views of the Huachuca and mule mountains

Read up on history of this discovery from1960s before you go. Largest mammoth site in North America but without the history its just another wash

The trails are nice and moderately extensive. There are no Clovis points laying around. A visit here is more about the nature trails rather than archaeology.

Really enjoyed this hike....good for all skill levels. The interprative trail has lots of signs with descriptors of plants...Clovis people...archaeological sites etc. The area is pretty easy to hike and interesting. There are a few benches strategically placed for resting though most folks wont need to. From here you can also hike on to Murray Springs...the Riparian trail...and what is likely the remains of Ike Clantons ranch.

Who knew that mammoths once roamed Arizona. Well, they did. This site is not well known, but it is quite informative. The trail is well marked, with educational signs as well as benches scattered along it. Unfortunately, there is nothing of the actual dig remaining, which is why I deducted a star. If you visit during summer months bring water.

The site itself is very overgrown. You cant see much of anything. All the education signs are cracked and yellowed. It is a short loop. We didnt go on any of the other paths because it was too hot. Maybe next time.

Walk in the same area humans hunted and worked together 13,000 years ago. How can that not be amazing?

This is a nice short walk around a significant archeological site with informative boards along the way. Of course there are no artifacts or dig sites to see and the climate, vegatation and animal life bear no resemblance to the conditions at the time of the Clovis people, so its not clear what the point is.
