Loved this hike. Not that is hard but there are a lot of rocks. Beautiful!
Another great scenic Red Rock hiking area. This area has several trails that allow you to see the diverse landscape of Sedona
Not very interesting trail, if you just want to hike and hike, then this is the trail to do. Besides very confusing, easy to get lost.
Great hike. Little rough in some places. Lots of beautiful scenery though.
There is not a lot of parking so would recommend to get here around 7AM or earlier and there is a $5 fee to park (you will park at MundsWagon Trail). You will start off at MundsWagon trail which closely follows Shnellby Hill Road so you will hear a lot of tourist jeeps. Dont worry those should be out of your way 2-3 miles). You will then come across to a split and you can do the loop (MundsWagon- Hangover - CowPie) clockwise or counterclockwise (MundsWagon - CowPie - Hangover) but we did the out and back from Munds Wagon to Hangover and back.Therell be a bunch of lizards along the way but dont worry they tend to get out of your way. Also keep an eye out for mountain bikers as they have to navigate their bike through some very narrow trails while sharing with hikers. We saw roughly about 20 people throughout the whole trip (bikers and hikers combined) but more towards the afternoon than the morning. Would recommend 3L of water per person(trust me youll need it in May) when doing this hike also bring some glucose because this was a very tiring trail. Would also highly highly highly highly recommend hiking shoes.Second there is also a keyhole/overlook/Elephants Trunk/cave in this area that is a little off Hangover Trail (GPS Location: 34.872400,-111.741000). Bottom line: it is a very tough trail because the climb is at a incline and coming down is very steep as it almost looks like you could fall over the cliff. Every step is very important and for this reason I would highly highly recommend hiking shoes. It is also not a clearly marked trail and is indeed a lot of climbing. However the views are beautiful in our opinion.
Nice time. Do the margs draw trail. For those who are able-bodied and willing to trailblaze a little, cut through the pass at Snoopy’s Belly to make a loop out of the trail to get back to Munds trailhead parking. Beautiful views from the top of Sedona, and there was a makeshift footpath to guide you most of the way up. The way back down on the Sedona side is a bit dense with vegetation and had a steep incline.
Beautiful Views and Great Energy!
Long but easy hiking trail to the Merry-go-round Rock. From here you have a great view over the valley to Sedona.
Beautiful hiking trails close to Sedona. Worth the visit for sure.
One of my favorite Sedona trails
Busy trailhead, but if you can find a spot or be dropped off, a great place to explore and plenty of options to wander around over several days!
Fantastic time
One of my favorite hikes in Sedona. Endless views of the red rocks makes the day and the hike effortless
This is a really great and somewhat challenging trail for a run. Trail head has a vault toilet and ample parking. Trail is easy to follow and not super travelled. It connects you to Hangover which has amazing views. Most of Munds is a climb and it follows Schnebly Hill Road, crossing gravel and multiple points. These are well marked with signs and cairns.
Beautiful scenery.
A nice trail with lovely views. I saw a girl just chilling and reading a book, which shows how peaceful and quiet it is there.
Very accessible from either Uptown or Downtown Sedona. Parking lot is small, so it pays to arrive early. We found several trailheads here, not just the one for Munds Wagon Trail, and each trail is well mapped from the signs in the parking area. We found Munds Wagon Trail to be a good one because you can tailor the walk to be as long or as short as you want. The hiking trail crosses the Jeep tour road in several places, though, so in high season youll have to deal with that. The most ambitious walk would be up the grade to the top of the ridge, which is along the old road to Flagstaff. As it was, we went out and back in about 70 minutes and felt wed gotten a great sense of that area. Very dog friendly, but leashes are required. Pack plenty of water because theres none at the trailhead, and no bathrooms, either.
Beautiful place to start hiking the mountains of Sedona. Lovely spot for a quick wedding also.
Long hike that parallels Schnebley Hill road. Encircles the Merry-go-round and then finishes at the road after a good 4.5 mile hike.
We hiked about one and a half miles out and back. The trail had fantastic views. It was also more forested than most of the other local trails wed been on. The last half of our hike was along a pretty straight with some small waterfalls.
Cool side trail when on Schnebly hill. Come see it!
Maybe great for hiking, but a challenge to enjoy for mtn biking. How else can you get to the Hangover trail though?
Beautiful. Great Hiking
Easily accessible trail, with a fair amount of parking. There are two or three trailheads from the parking lot and also a bathroom there and some picnic tables. The trail is pretty well marked with rock cairns and crosses the dirt road a few times as you wind north. Very beautiful scenery, especially at the beginning of the trail. The only downside is that manyJeep tours drive on the dirt road which is sometimes quite near the trail. Its a great hike and isnt too difficult. Very little shade, however! Must take hat and water.
Great hike and beautiful colors. Easy hike
Pretty area. Trails were not marked well.
Great place to catch a Sedona sunset.
Very nice trail, it took us about 4 hours to do the entire trail. We only saw two other hikers the entire time.
So excited to be hiking these beautiful mountains.
I ran/hiked munds to hangover. Props to anyone that bikes that lollipop. Running scared the bejesus out of me. But wow was it beautiful. Amazing views amazing trail
We had so much fun. Its a short hike with great scenery
From the trailhead near the Annabelle Hotel, a short and moderate vertical climb get you to the plateau. From there its a mostly flat hike with little ups and downs here and there. The larger trees provide spots to rest in the shade along the way. About 1.25 mi to Schnebly Hill Road. From there you can take the loop back around for a more vertically challenging hike, or double back. Great for a quick little hike with kids as well if you double back.
Beautiful! Great hike, wonderfully views.
Nice way to string together small hikes into longer ones
Really beautiful fun and family friendly hike. While hiking through this trail, we took liberty to climb up some of the red rock to make the hike more challenging and entertaining, and to take in the incredible scenery.
Follows the first cattle trail out of Sedona. This one is moderate but very little tree cover so pick the right time. Every red rock formation has its own beauty and this trail also offers rewards. It also follows a creek which is nice.
AMAZING wonderful place
No bikes and no wirers . Expansive views.
Its a great hike, just make sure you go early in the morning to miss all the off road Jeep tours.
Beautiful four wheel drive trail. This is the one way to truly see the non-tourist side of Sedona. It takes quite awhile to travel the road due to how rugged it is but can done with any four wheel drive vehicle. Its so worth the time.
It was a bumpy ride but absolutely Mesmerizingly Breathtaking!! They do offer tours in Jeeps down this trail, at least from what I gathered. I couldnt tell you where to reserve the rides, but my drive alone was well worth it!! Going to try a different trail next time!!
Easy parking and access to a large network of trails - mostly easy to moderate. Highly recommended.
Connected to hangover trail. Very nice.
Terrific views and a fun trail, be sure to get there early because theres a lot to see and explore!
Scenic drive but vehicle needs to be able to do bumpy, rocky trail. Lifted trucks and Jeeps.
Nice place to start awesome hikes
Beautiful area with easily accessed trails and amazing vistas.
Beautiful. Some of the marker signs are confusing. Watch your GPS.
Freaking awesome.
Love this place
Great Jeep trail ride
Beautiful day for hiking.
Not for the faint hearted
Easy to get in and out, and a wonderful place to see the stars with little light pollution, as Sedona is a Dark Sky city
Nice place
My family had a blast!
Best viewed at sunrise and sunset.
The views are amazing
Nice look out
Absolutely beautiful. Lots of water if you visit in spring.
Stunning views. Not a very strenuous trail
Gorgeous views! Easy to get to, just out of town
Great parking spot and trail access. Youll need a Red Rock Pass, which you can get at the self serve kiosk. Daily pass is $5. Restrooms here and a map. There is an overlook of Sedona nearby. We did 3/4 of the Margs Draw trail around Snoopys Belly. Great trail. Lots of dry creek beds, junipers, lizards, etc. If youre a little bit adventurous, there are plenty of opportunities for climbing dry river beds. At the southwest corner of the mountain you can go off trail (really just a less traveled fork) and find a small plateau. From there you can get a panoramic view of the valley and get easy access to the bottom of the rock itself. Magnificent! Obviously, watch for snakes and scorpions...but we only saw one garter snake (off trail), and it wanted nothing to do with us. The main trail eventually takes you down to Sombart Lane in Sedona, but we wanted more time on the mountain and doubled back.
Great road for off-road. Tremendous views.
Good hike.
