Significantly more parking spots here compare to the other side. There is a little bit of dirt road to get to the trailhead. We did a ~5miles loop around (devils kitchen, Arch, hole in the sky,...). Highly recommend it.

Brin mesa trail was more spacious and secluded than other busier hike sites in the area. Beautiful forest of cactus and conifer. Outhouse at the trailhead

Good parking lot consisting of packed dirt, maybe some gravel. Facilities include a hardened portapotty, no running water. Start for 3 different trails.

Me and my friend drove to this trailhead at like 9pm at night to star gaze, first let me tell you ! Don’t go there at night alone it was so so so creepy! We ran into a pack of deer that was cool, but we got out to go walk a little to see the stars better, kept my truck lights on so we could see and had a flashlight and I kid you not we both took around 10 steps and some beyond weird energy came over us both at the exact same time we looked at each other got chills and had instant anxiety and we both started to panic without saying anything to each other, ive never ever ever felt anything like that weird panic energy in my life, we jumped in my truck and raced outta there we both couldn’t wait to leave, we hit the pavement after the dirt trail and my maps were set to take my back to our hotel, again kid u not the maps took us some weird streets that were dead ends and swear on my life kept taking us back to the dirt road trail head not once not twice bit3 times !!! I triple checked my maps were set for the hotel and even my roomie set her phone for our hotel we kept getting taken back to the trail to the point I half cried because something weird was happening and I’ve never felt this weird energy in my life nope nope and nope ... needed to share this weird story . But go in the day looks gorgeous !

One of the best ways to quietly get into the red rocks. Not as busy as other trial heads and no off-road vehicles makes it peaceful. Well maintained dirt road the last mile or so. My rented Camaro made it no problem. I would suggest this trail to anyone.

This is a great place to start the loop of soldier pass and brins mesa. That loop is one of the nicest ones you can do in Sedona, and its short enough to be a leisurely morning or afternoon hike. The trails are in great shape and very well maintained, and there are plenty of wonderful views in the two canyons that youre hiking through.

Fantastic trail head for a longer hike. Go up Brun Mesa, then make a right on the “spur” out to the canyon wall and hear some fabulous echos and see some views, then head back and down soldiers trail, turn on Jordan and then finish up on Cibola Pass. Beautiful trail and hiking experience.

After trying to find parking at Soliders Trail and finding it full, we headed over to the Jordan Road Trailhead. This road is ROUGH. We got there early, 8 am ish and there was plenty of parking. Getting out a few hours later was dicey. People were parking everywhere and it was tight getting out, definitely put some scratches on the rental car. The hike was amazing!

Easy access from Jordan road with lots of parking and access to great trails including Jim Thompson, Cibola Pass, Jordan trail and Brims Mesa. The views are great including nice views of Wilson mountain from the parking lot. Theres also a picnic table to enjoy a snack before or after a hike. Finally theres a machine for the red rock parking pass youll need to park at the trailhead and a mens and womens privy available.2019 update: The trail system connects into both the Soldiers Pass area and the Javelina trail loop. Theres a large number of loop hikes available from this trailhead as well as out and back hikes in Jim Thompson and Brims Mesa. Its easy enough to park with a Red Rock pass but it is also a short walk (3/4 mile) from parking in uptown Sedona if you would like to save the cost of the pass.

Great loop - brins mesa to soldier pass and back via jordan and cibola. Approx 6miles. Shame the first quarter of the hike was destroyed by an unnecessarily noisy and disrespectful yoga group who felt the need to yell, holler, hoot, whoop, caw and various other things the whole way. Be respectful on the trail guys, most people are here for the peace and quiet. Hope this isnt a regular occurance

This parking lot is the start of several trails and requires a Red Rock Pass, which can be purchased by credit card only at the lot. We took the Brins Mesa trail up to the top of the Mesa and climbed a rock outcropping at 1.5 miles. Great views! The trail is rocky and relatively steep, but worth the effort.

There is a Red Rock pass kiosk in the lot. If youre looking to do the Cibola Pass, Soldier Pass, Brins Mesa loop, go through the cable fencing. We took the Jordan Trail thinking it would take us over the pass. It didnt. The pass would have been prettier than junk hiking under power lines. We made it work but want others to not mess up right at the start. :)

Unfortunately the trailhead was difficult to find. The directions on Google Map were really not correct. I was directed incorrectly to take Apache Road or Apache Drive but it put me about 2 miles from the trailhead. When I finally found the trailhead, another carload of people had exactly the same problem and had to figure it out themselves.

This trailhead is close to Sedona and is easily accessible, despite the dirt road you have to go on for part of the way to get to the parking area. Theres not lots of parking space, so it may fill up toward afternoon. This trail requires a permit costing $5, but you dont need to get one in advance because theres a permit machine on site and the permit is good for all day. Oftentimes, a hiker who has just finished the hike will gift you with their permit as theyre leaving the parking lot, so you might get lucky and not have to pay for a permit after all. There are two no-flush bathrooms at the trailhead. Not great accommodations as far as trailheads go, to be sure, but theyre adequate and clean, and is that really important when the main thing is to get on the trail which is spectacular.
