Brin mesa trail was more spacious and secluded than other busier hike sites in the area. Beautiful forest of cactus and conifer. Outhouse at the trailhead
Good parking lot consisting of packed dirt, maybe some gravel. Facilities include a hardened portapotty, no running water. Start for 3 different trails.
Me and my friend drove to this trailhead at like 9pm at night to star gaze, first let me tell you ! Don’t go there at night alone it was so so so creepy! We ran into a pack of deer that was cool, but we got out to go walk a little to see the stars better, kept my truck lights on so we could see and had a flashlight and I kid you not we both took around 10 steps and some beyond weird energy came over us both at the exact same time we looked at each other got chills and had instant anxiety and we both started to panic without saying anything to each other, ive never ever ever felt anything like that weird panic energy in my life, we jumped in my truck and raced outta there we both couldn’t wait to leave, we hit the pavement after the dirt trail and my maps were set to take my back to our hotel, again kid u not the maps took us some weird streets that were dead ends and swear on my life kept taking us back to the dirt road trail head not once not twice bit3 times !!! I triple checked my maps were set for the hotel and even my roomie set her phone for our hotel we kept getting taken back to the trail to the point I half cried because something weird was happening and I’ve never felt this weird energy in my life nope nope and nope ... needed to share this weird story . But go in the day looks gorgeous !
An easy hike. We didnt go to the top but nice view as far as we went
It was fun. Kinda got lost but made it to soldiers pass and back
Lots of parking and better to get to soldiers pass from this lot.
Love the Trail. Up hill. But the views make it worth it.
Came here when soldier pass parking was full. Took Jordan to soldier pass then looped around with Brins Mesa trail. Incredible variation of scenery and elevation. This is the only way I would recommend doing soldier pass
Hot and humid when we were there. Jordan trail was nice but hurt by power lines. The Cibola Trail to the north side of that loop was beautiful.
Several options for trails from this trailhead. Rough and bumpy road leading to it, but sedans can make it.
This is a great place to start the loop of soldier pass and brins mesa. That loop is one of the nicest ones you can do in Sedona, and its short enough to be a leisurely morning or afternoon hike. The trails are in great shape and very well maintained, and there are plenty of wonderful views in the two canyons that youre hiking through.
Great parking alternative to soldiers pass. Lots of spaces and less crowds
Hot, long, and tiring. Never been so proud of myself. I made the entire loop.
The road is a little rough, but there is ample parking and great trail access for all levels of trail.
Loved it.
Great moderate hike with scenic vistas...
Fantastic trail head for a longer hike. Go up Brun Mesa, then make a right on the “spur” out to the canyon wall and hear some fabulous echos and see some views, then head back and down soldiers trail, turn on Jordan and then finish up on Cibola Pass. Beautiful trail and hiking experience.
After trying to find parking at Soliders Trail and finding it full, we headed over to the Jordan Road Trailhead. This road is ROUGH. We got there early, 8 am ish and there was plenty of parking. Getting out a few hours later was dicey. People were parking everywhere and it was tight getting out, definitely put some scratches on the rental car. The hike was amazing!
Despite the rain, it was a Fantastic trek to the top
Crazy dirt road to get to the parking, but totally worth it. I took the Brins Mesa trail and it was beautiful
An ideal spot to begin your hike. Access the wilderness area for hiking sans mountain bikes.
Beautiful. A bit hot at 88F today.
Awesome trail, especially if you go off the path to the peak. You have to crawl through this cave area which makes it tricky, but also a much cooler hike
Great challenge for beginners!!
Beautiful place to Star Gaze.
Good starting spot for several trails
Was recommended to us that we hike Brins Mesa trail - it did not disappoint!! Once you reach the top of the mesa, there are some incredible views!! Definitely worth the climb!!
Plenty of parking and great trailhead maps to show you all the connections trails.
Extraordinary hiking area. Park your car at the Jordan Road Trailhead. hike counterclockwise Brins Mesa Trail, Soldier Pass Trail, Sink Hole, Jordan Trail, Cibola Pass Trail, back to parking lot. Awesome views!
Nice trail ok for horses if you go counter clock wise. Lots of flat sand stone
Beautiful trail! We did a 4.75 mile hike over the Mesa trail. I would say moderate climbing up and down. Not for beginners. Hydrate and wear a full brim hat.
Drive up to the end parking area for the best views, but its best with an SUV.
Easy access from Jordan road with lots of parking and access to great trails including Jim Thompson, Cibola Pass, Jordan trail and Brims Mesa. The views are great including nice views of Wilson mountain from the parking lot. Theres also a picnic table to enjoy a snack before or after a hike. Finally theres a machine for the red rock parking pass youll need to park at the trailhead and a mens and womens privy available.2019 update: The trail system connects into both the Soldiers Pass area and the Javelina trail loop. Theres a large number of loop hikes available from this trailhead as well as out and back hikes in Jim Thompson and Brims Mesa. Its easy enough to park with a Red Rock pass but it is also a short walk (3/4 mile) from parking in uptown Sedona if you would like to save the cost of the pass.
Great loop - brins mesa to soldier pass and back via jordan and cibola. Approx 6miles. Shame the first quarter of the hike was destroyed by an unnecessarily noisy and disrespectful yoga group who felt the need to yell, holler, hoot, whoop, caw and various other things the whole way. Be respectful on the trail guys, most people are here for the peace and quiet. Hope this isnt a regular occurance
Well maintained trail with a resident tarantula or two near the parking lot entrance.
Plenty of parking great views lots of trails
Nice moderate hike to Brins Mesa from here.
Loved the hike
Nice moderate to difficult hike to the top.
Amazing place to stargaze!
This is where you can picky up the Brins Mesa East trail. One of the best views in Sedona area from the Mesa. Worth the climb!
Great place to start several trails. Brins Mesa with overlook is my favorite
Great trek
Something very elusive and rare is hidden deep in one of the canyons.... WOW!!!!!
I like to connect Brins Mesa, Soldiers Pass, Jordan and Cibola trails for a nice 5-ish mile loop with a fair amount (moderate?) of elevation. Magnificent views abound on this trek.
This parking lot is the start of several trails and requires a Red Rock Pass, which can be purchased by credit card only at the lot. We took the Brins Mesa trail up to the top of the Mesa and climbed a rock outcropping at 1.5 miles. Great views! The trail is rocky and relatively steep, but worth the effort.
There is a Red Rock pass kiosk in the lot. If youre looking to do the Cibola Pass, Soldier Pass, Brins Mesa loop, go through the cable fencing. We took the Jordan Trail thinking it would take us over the pass. It didnt. The pass would have been prettier than junk hiking under power lines. We made it work but want others to not mess up right at the start. :)
Great hiking!
Great trails, but road full of pot holes and gets crowded when people park along it.
A must to stop in just for photos....which can be said for most of the trails in sedona.
A great place to go and not be caught up with all the tourists.Perfect sunsets and the trail is not that difficult.
Has enough parking early in the morning. Road leading to the trailhead is pretty rough. The hike from that leaves from this trailhead was great!
I visited at 9:00 AM on a Friday morning in mid March and found at least 10 open parking spaces. The Cibola trail to Soldier Pass trail and return on Brin Mesa trail was awesome from this trailhead. I enjoyed Cibola and Soldier Pass the most.
Awesome hike
Awesome
Unfortunately the trailhead was difficult to find. The directions on Google Map were really not correct. I was directed incorrectly to take Apache Road or Apache Drive but it put me about 2 miles from the trailhead. When I finally found the trailhead, another carload of people had exactly the same problem and had to figure it out themselves.
Not an easy hike. Beautiful scenery
Fantastic hike with no crowds.
Nice red river by the parking spot!
Was able to park our 28 foot RV here. Rate is $5 if you dont have a Parks pass.
Access to a bunch of moderate trails. Good parking. Great views.
Excellent hike of low intensity, but you can get good distance. Did the loop onto Soldiers trail and came back, and it was about 6 mi. Awesome views throughout
Good size with a bathroom serves multiple trails
Great trailhead with lots of hiking options.
Beautiful vistas, easy walking. Reasonable crowds.
Beginning of Brins Mesa Trail, which is gorgeous.
Several choices from the trailhead both hikes to go on. Each has a little different personality. Very close to Uptown Sedona
Beautiful hike outside of Sedona. Bring plenty of water sunscreen and snacks for the trail
They have restrooms and access to three trails from this location. Ample parking as well.
This trailhead is close to Sedona and is easily accessible, despite the dirt road you have to go on for part of the way to get to the parking area. Theres not lots of parking space, so it may fill up toward afternoon. This trail requires a permit costing $5, but you dont need to get one in advance because theres a permit machine on site and the permit is good for all day. Oftentimes, a hiker who has just finished the hike will gift you with their permit as theyre leaving the parking lot, so you might get lucky and not have to pay for a permit after all. There are two no-flush bathrooms at the trailhead. Not great accommodations as far as trailheads go, to be sure, but theyre adequate and clean, and is that really important when the main thing is to get on the trail which is spectacular.
Very nice scenery
Epic
Beautiful views
Great hike. Beautiful scenery!!!!!
Great views along the way. Leads to the soldier path and the seven pools.
Hard to know its there
Beautiful
Fantastic trail
Beautiful
From this trailhead you can hike on Jim Thompson Trail, Brins Mesa Trail, Cibola Pass Trail or Jordan Trail.
Amazing
Parking and a bathroom at the trailhead.
