This was a pretty nice hike, I believe its intermediate. At first you dont notice that its going to be a hike but a leisurely walk until you get a bit further in and you walking upward you will be hiking on some rocks upwards. But no worries not a lot. I didnt feel any energy or anything on this vortex...but the site up there is very nice and the pictures are gorgeous to take.
Journey was tough at first then became insightful. Met some amazing ppl on the way.
Met a man named Rob. He was giving every one hearts made from rocks. He was such a loving beautiful person. He made the trip to Sedona and the hike to the top all worth it!
It was just lovely. Stacked rocks and twisted trees everywhere. The other people that were there were very friendly. Just make sure you take the vista trail to go to the vortex. The Boynton Pass trail goes to the ruins.
Pretty short and not too difficult. But compared to other views its only average.
The annoying flute player ruined a perfectly nice vortex. Some peace and quiet would have been nice.
Not a believer. Nothing happened at the other vortex sites. At this site as soon as I left the vehicle I felt a coffee high and I quit drinking coffee years ago. At this cedar tree with my hands palm out I could feel warmth even though it was a cool day. It was very unusual but could be psychosomatic.
Good energy, spooky climb at the spire of rock
A great Vista. Easy trail.
Amazing vistas. Not overly crowed like many other Sedona spots. Easy hike to a saddle between two towers that are said to have a Vortex. The view is definitely worth the hike up. Bathrooms at the trailhead and Red Rock Pass required. Pass vending machine available at the trailhead as of May 2019 $5 daily $15 7 day pass. Golden Access and other passes that include access to all federal lands also honored here. For complete list of honored passes see sign at pass vending machine.
Luckily we met Robert at Boynton Vortex (didn’t read about him until afterwards) where we were given carved red rock hearts. A very cool experience if happen to run into him.Despite it being quite cold and icy, he climbed the vortex spire to play his flute which echoed through the canyon and made for a mystical experience. We hiked the long way around through deadman’s pass. Give yourself at least 3 hours for the round trip.
Didnt disappoint! From the views, the energy, THE WINDS! DEFINITELY WORTHY OF THE HIKE AND TRIP!
Easy trail. Dont recommend for people without a steady gait and good balance as you can easily trip and fall and there are quite a few very large steps taller than 1.5 feet
Easy trail up and back. Quite busy, even after dark.
What an amazing trail and place. Sedona really does have a positive vibe. This was a great little trail. We came about 4pm so it wasnt too crowded and even had the top to ourselves for a bit.
Amazing trails and views!
Family friendly, great hike. I always feel revitalized. If you’re lucky you may be serenaded by a local playing a flute gifting heart shaped rocks to hikers.
Gourgeous views, nice hike. A few challenging spots.
Great place to hike, with beautiful views. Dont miss this hike. There in three out.
Easy hike to the vortex. A lot of people in this spot do not as peaceful as you hope.
There is a self Park lot with a $5 charge at the trailhead. I hiked the Vista Trail which is off Boynton Cannon Trail. The parking lot to the top of the Vista is under a half mile. Even with such a short hike you want to take many stops to take in The View and catch your breath. It is a short trail and it is not hard but it is not easy either.
Beautiful vistas and strong energy pulls. Vibrations felt against the rock. As if gravity was pulling me into the rock. The winds were crazy and magnificent. Go off the trail a bit and follow the whirling twisting juniper trees
This is a quick short hike. Its one of the four vortexes in Sedona. The energy is about balance through the masculine and feminine. The people who come visit this area do contribute to the atmosphere. I didnt get in touch with the environment because I allowed external matter to take from my experience. There is a gorgeous resort right belly the trail and you can hear the AC. turn on and off and here the cars. Very unfortunate. We tried looking for the cave and did not see it. I dont think we went high enough or far enough in to get there. Do try to climb the rocks, but make sure you have someone with you to help.
Very low impact hike. Manageable for just about anyone. Great views.
Not enough dog poop dispensers.Poop bags everywhere!
The vortex is very powerful and the scenery is breathtakingWorth the hike
Beautiful view, amazing energy. Take your shoes off and breath deep for awhile.
This is such a pleasant hike through the desert canyon that turns into beautiful Forrest. The hike is shaded for roughly 2/3 of the journey, the trail is dog friendly, but it is full of people. I would recommend this hike as an early morning or late evening trek to avoid the crowd. The Vista point .2 miles in is the best view, but the hike itself is staggeringly beautiful. The view at the end it ok but not breath taking. Parking fee of $5 was well worth it. Note: there is a resort you hike behind for a mile or less before it feels like wilderness.
Nice hike with amazing views. Very peaceful and there is a man who plays the flute and hands out heart rocks. If you are thinking about hiking here it is a must do!
Beautiful hike! Ran into some javelinas and a Ma playing the flute. His names Richard, he plays almost every day, beautiful native sounds. Really enjoyed the hike so much more!
The Vortex was amazing, and the hike was challenging! I loved it!
Nice little sounter.
My favorite hike and to hear native American flute and get a heart rock #special!
Super fun hike! Started at the Boynton trailhead, took the Vista trail detour to the top of the vortex area. Stunning views, leisurely hike.
Amazing serene location where you can experience the beauty of Sedona and see two vortices at one location. The views are breath taking.
Next to Enchantment Resort and Boynton Canyon trail, Vista is a short hike with good views and the opportunity to climb. You might even meet a fellow hiker who hands at heart rocks and gives a short speech on unconditional love. Made me smile.
Short hike up. Great views all around. Sit and stay for a bit. People tend to be quiet here which is nice. Loved my time here.
Fully amazing! Dont miss!
Gorgeous scenery. Could rely feel the energy here. Lovely hiking spot.
Very very easy hike. Its only 0.2 miles.
Visited the enchantment resort Beautiful
Sacred. Immensely beautiful and good for the soul.
Great hike, bring the layers as you go from sunny to shade and forest
Between the red canyon walls, the change from seeing prickly pear and agave to walking through an oak tree forest, and a relatively easy trail to hike, its one of the most scenic trails Ive been on. The only drawback is the parking lot was full and we had to park down the road...but saved $5!
I dont believe in all that but my wife did say she was feeling something and was in a very good mood along a particular section of a trail. When we returned, we seen a map of the vortexes and realized we were right by one when she was feeling something! Either way, was a fun hike with great scenery
Awesome. Took lots of breaks in the cool tree shade and enjoyed myself, quietly.
Absolutely stunning hike; you wont get lost with all of the trail markers.
Fairly easy hike. Met some great people on the trail.
Sacred place, a most amazing hike!
Beautiful trail, not too long and you will be atop of this magnificent vortex. Great energy. Soak it all in and enjoy the view
Stunning views, moderately easy hike. Especially beautiful if you are able to go when Robert is playing his flute.
Beautiful trails and not terribly challenging. Highly recommend!
Very beautiful.
Amazing trail!
Beautiful hike in Red Rocks.
A little challenging with the climb but very worth the short hike.
Great short hike with a great view at the top. Make sure you following the crates of red rocks used to mark the trail. It took us a little while to figure out thats what those were for. If youre looking for a bite to eat nearby, I highly recommend Tii Gavo at Enchantment Resort. You may want to make reservations in advance.
I climbed to the top....
Pretty? Yes of course. Vortex? Cannot claim spiritual rejuvenation at this site unfortunately
Fun spot to visit! Parts of hike towards the end are steep but short
Beautiful views. A great way to spend my birthday
Not sure that I felt any mystical energy but the views are breathtaking. Nice man was placing carved heart stones preaching love and tolerance.
Amazing place to come explore and witness for yourself the great views
Beautiful place. Unfortunately the solitude is disturbed by the closeness of the Resort. Resort the Natives opposed due to disturbing the vortex.
Had to experience the Vortex. Nice hike. Very picturesque!
Beautiful energy and view here
Nice place for a hike. Spent several hours and did not even realize it.
Easy hike with a really great view. Met a nice man handing out heart shaped rocks with magical powers. Came in handy when I needed to power up my legs on the hike. Never turn down a heart when you need more life in your quest to take on the end boss.
Unforgettable place.
Sunset @ Boynnton Pass. Vortex energy is also amazing very peaceful place.Come & get recharged get in the Zone !!!.Loved it :-)
A nice short hike up to sit on the rock, and listening to a hippy flute player made this a wonderful experience
Its a beautiful site, a good hike for almost any level and you can definitely feel the good energy.
Well worth the walk. Very lovely. Easy walk from parking lot.
Wonderful place for a barefoot hike!
Great views and a nice hike
Beautiful little hike. If you are into/ sensitive to vortex energy, its a great place to go. ( Hint: you can always tell where there is major vortex activity when you see the trees that are swirly, wierdly growing. Youll see the difference!)
A lovely hike with some fairly steep trails. It is only about a mile each way, but there are a few areas you have to scramble up. Dogs are allowed, and we did see quite a few out on the trails.
Great hike through lots of shade and rewarded with dramatic cliff views!
My 1st experience at a Sedona Vortex and I was moved to tears. Spectacular views, amazing trails, and the vortex itself is beyond description. I normally do not feel energy the way many people describe it, as a tactile sensation. But this experience was real, deeply felt and quite literally had me unable to move until I opened enough to let it flow. Do not miss this experience.
Peaceful meditation spot with nice view.
Nice trail
Absolutely loved this hike, definitely not the easiest but the veiw is worth it.
Even in very hot weather, this is an easy, but interesting hike. If youre lucky (like we were) you might meet the flute dude who plays his flute right at the vortex. This is a treat, especially if you get to hear him play as you hike to him. The views here are super, but recent development to the North is a minor buzzkill, as you can hear vehicle activity and see commercial buildings. I imagine it was even easier to feel this supposed center of spirituality before the view was married in this one spot.
Beautiful hike to the vortex
Something special is waiting for you if you go mid mornings. Hint: ️ and Robert!! Amazing h
Amazing experience.
Beautiful view when the airballons rais in the morning
Very scenic with lots of energy and positive vibes
Nice trails, not too challenging or easy.
Good view point
Very peaceful and had amazing views
Really good hike if youre looking for a sunset hike. One of the four vortexes in Sedona. It is a feminine vortex (meaning it relaxes and tires you) which is why its better if you do this one right before you head back to your home/hotel. But the view was amazing and theres an option for a short (less than a mile hike) or longer hike. If you decide that you like this hike, you can try one of the other vortexes in Sedona.
