This place is pure magic. Everything to play on flows with the trees and its not overkept. Its got this middle of the woods, wild feeling that I think too many kids have lost in our day in age. My daughter is only a little over 1 and had so much fun climbing and exploring. Her dad and I had just as much fun This place is a haven for peaceful and imaginative play and I highly highly recommend. Also the owner is so sweet! Grab a frozen fruit bar on your way out as a yummy ending!
Worth the investment...stimulate your childs imaginative and playful mind. Creative artist that made the area really thoughtful
I took my four year old daughter there and we were there for two hours. She loved it!! It is not that big of a place but there are so many cool things to do. I love all the creativity they put into making this outdoor playground for kids. We will definitely be going back.
I love the idea of this place. An outdoor area for children to explore. It only took about 30 minutes for four children (ages 4-6) to explore the entire place. I think the price is too steep for the size of the place. One large area had the gates on both sides locked. All the he costumes were geared towards girls. The maze area is small and its all dead ends. You have to go out the same way you came in. The kids were bored after about 40 minutes. The “rain forest” has very heavy misters so be prepared to get soaked. They offer free mosquito spray there but I didn’t notice any problem with mosquitoes. It’s cool to check out once, but for the price I’ll just take my kids on a nature trail or splash pad for free.
Im not sure why this place doesnt have a perfect 5 star rating. Its like a kids dreams come true (and fun for the adults too). Plus, its almost entirely in the shade. It was a great way to let the kids get their energy out without getting overheated and we had the place to ourselves most of the time. Lastly, the staff were very friendly and genuinely happy that we were there. Well worth the cost!
Today was our first day going and we had a really lovely time! The garden is beautiful, fun, and quirky. My dream backyard! Absolutely recommended!
So fun! We went here on a whim. When we pulled up it seemed like such an odd location but when we walked into the garden, it felt so secluded and magical. I loved it just as much as my 8-year-old. It took us about an hour to go through. Make sure you look for all the small details. Definitely would go again.
This is a rare gem in an unexpected place. Its very pretty and magical for children. A real gift to the community.
Grandkids loved it. Adult friendly, too. Fun & teaching moments abound!
Super cute! I took two 12 yr old girls, so they were only entertained for a bit. They did get dressed up and so did I! The costume hut is so hot! I dont think it has AC. The cabin was great to tour. Great for the younger kids. They would be able to spend a lot of time there. The misting in the rainforest was nice! It was so hot even though it is very shaded.
A quaint wonderland built right out of a childs imagination. Highly recommend this location. The staff as well were all so friendly and respectful.
Great fun for the kids. Cheap and shaded playground. The kids loved the pirate ship.
Its a wonderful place to take your children when you want them to see what nature is all about. There is an amazing costume room where you can dress up and run around and use your imagination. There is a beautiful cottage and its decorated with magical things. Dont hesitate to come. Amazing place for the young ones.
Loads of things for the kids to play with and play on. Tons if space for running and imaginative play
My grand daughters LOVED this enchanted playground! Make sure you use the bug spray because you will be eaten alive, otherwise! There are so many magical places for the girls to explore. The boys that were there were having just as much fun! It is a great imagination building place to take your kids (grandkids), to!
Great place to take the grandkids, they had a wonderful time exploring all the theme areas, was a exciting way for them and us big kids to burn off 3 hours, will definitely be back!
We really enjoy this place. Its rather small, BUT the cost keeps the jerks out. You can actually sit and just watch your kids run around and enjoy themselves without worrying about them running in the street or jerks making the visit less enjoyable. Theres also a dress up room where the kids can pick through and play in a costume. You can bring food to eat at the picnic tables and theres craft activities that go on sometimes.
We just had our daughter’s 4th birthday here, and it was perfect. This place is so charming with all its little themed nooks and costumes to put on and play! Of course the kids had a blast, but the adults had a lovely time too.We brought bottled water, rice snacks, cupcakes, and had pizza delivered - easy peasy. We would definitely come again and use for a party again!
Our first time visiting the Childrens Garden was today. My 3 year old granddaughter and 1 year old grandson both thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of different play areas for them to explore and let their imaginations run wild. There is a labyrinth, playground, rain forest, lots of little themed gardens, and an area for dress up with lots of choices. I like that they hold events and art classes too. I only took a few pictures, wish now that I took more. Well be back for sure.
We have been taking our grandchildren to Childrens garden for a few years. They are now a 9year old girl, and a 5 year old boy. It is hands down their favorite place. If you are thinking Disney, you may be disappointed. If you are wanting a Magical land of childhood with your favorite backyard to explore, climb, swing, little houses, dress up, a unspoiled remembrance of yesteryear when life was less complicated, more creative, less commercial . It will provide all that and more. We Love, Love, Love, Childrens Garden. We pack a lunch. The adults can relax and let the children play.
Great for younger kids. My 1 year old was able to run around freely and my 7 year old even had a good time. theres enough room for strollers and theyve got a few wagons to use as well. A lot to do. Very hands-on.Check the calendar for events!
We have a membership. What a deal and fabulous gift! My boys, 4 and 2, are wild for this place. An absolute gem for Sarasota! Its a fabulous place to support, and the nature play is invaluable learning.
Unique and creative play space!
The childrens garden is a really neat place. It is tucked away, and is alot bigger than it initially looks. It is well kept and is pretty fun. My kids both enjoyed it (1 and 8) . However I think the prices are a little high, honestly. I would go back if it were cheaper.
Nice venue for childrens birthday parties.
I have an amost 2 year old and we recently purchased a membership after going once we both fell in LOVE. This is not only a safe fun environment for children but also for adults to admire the unique artistic gardens. My son always leaves happy and so do I. Im so excited to continue going and also have him keep going with me to make memories. Wagons and dress up room are a plus!
This is a magical garden! In this place there is hope for the future of the world. We need more Childrens Gardens!
Went on thrifty Thursday, thank goodness we did, lovely little place, but really not worth the admission, we spent one hour there, and that was a struggle to fill that time. From the fantastic reviews we expected alot more, or at least a bigger area. Our seven year old was bored after 15 minutes. On the plus side, the staff were extremely friendly
Very big and beautiful.
Brought my four year old boy he had a great time. Pulling up it didnt look like much its surprisingly bigger than it looks from the outside. We spent an easy two hours there and he had fun the whole time. Very reasonable prices would recommend to go at least once if you have small children.
We really liked to this place. Full of imagination, fun and whimsical delights.
Great day out in a whimsical garden!
Love the Childrens Garden. So much natural things for the kids to enjoy that many miss these days. The owner, Robin, has wonderful special programs, check the monthly calendar.
Awesome place to play and let imagination run wild. Great little hidden whimsical garden right down town under your nose!
Worth every penny of admission. Great for the girls aged 9 and 6 and for boys 3 yr. Costumes for dress up play and adventure in the gardens.
This place is very pretty but the prices to go are sort of outrageous. I was very surprised to find that a two hour party was well over a hundred dollars and nothing is included. You also cant pick your own music. The events are pretty pricey as well witch deterred me from attending. I have posted an event and that way you can make your own decision.
A magical hidden gem nestled in a Sarasota neighborhood! My son loves going here. He never gets tired exploring and having adventures. I love that the garden inspires children to use their imaginations to play and learn. The have creative art programs, special events and camps too. Ms. Robin is a kid at heart and clearly loves what she does!
Nicely shaded, nice size not over whelming, relaxing, whimsical, fun. They have a room with costumes like princess dresses and cute outfits for boys to put on and play in.
Simply magic place for kids!!!!
Fun small park to walk for the littles...
Awesome place for a 2 year old to explore!!
The kids get so excited when they get to go to this park! They have a blast. Ages 5 and 7.
Small, cute place for children and families. Family-run nonprofit and a fun spot with lots of room for kids to run around and explore. A hidden gem of downtown Sarasota.
The concept is good, I think its overpriced for what you get. Kids got through it in 30 mins or so and werent upset to leave so soon.
Our camp loves this garden!!
Nice place for older kids to play and explore. Not much for someone 2 and under who cant really climb.
Whoever created this place is an artistic genius!
Absolutely magical! We had so much fun here. My kids are 3 and almost 9 we all loved it. Highly recommend.
Boys had a great time
This is a really cool, peaceful spot for kids to be kids. There is a little dress up area where kids can put on costumes before entering the garden. In the garden, there are little areas with different sculptures to explore. There are treehouses, sand pits, water sprayers, and a bunch of tables to sit and relax, color, or eat at. Everyone is very friendly too.
My 4 year old and 20 month old kids love this place. They dress up, run around, and let their imaginations take over in the various colorful environments theyve created here. The craft workshops are great too. We appreciate the relaxed atmosphere as well.
This place is great! Went for their Halloween event and my family really enjoyed it and want to go back sometime! We will definitely be back!
Great place for the kids to run around
My kids really had a blast here, will be sure to bring them again!
Amazing and whimsical place! My wife and I loved it as much as the kids! One of the best places we have found to foster our kids imaginations and reconnect them to nature. Disregard the reviews saying the place is run down, its not meant to be disneyland so don’t place unreal expectations. This place is meant for children to truly be children!
Whimsical secret garden in the least expected place! Great place to bring the kiddos to play and develop their imaginations. Pack bug spray, a snack, and some drinks for hours of fun. A little gem hidden away blocks from downtown. Needs a little upkeep around the pond but they are constantly doing stuff to educate and expand little minds. So happy we found them :)
We love it here. There is so much to do, including a dress up room, a stage for the kids to perform on, and art time. Very whimsical and fun!
What a fun and magical place!!! I almost didnt go in but I am so glad I did! I have a 2 year old and it was the perfect place to run around and see some really cool things!! I highly suggest it.
It was quaint. Small and not a lot to do, but the kids loved it. They had a fun valentines day scavenger hunt today.
Fabulous for kids. Magical and sweet without being over the top!
If you are traveling with kids this is a nice place to take them. Sarasota can get very hot!!!!! But this pace had nice shaded play areas for the kids and shaded seating areas for the adults. When we got there my daughter spotted a raccoon, that made her day. (Dont worry, the raccoon wont bother you)
We love this place. Kids can run around in nature, play dress up, make arts and craft projects and do what kids do. Highly recommended for children around 2 to 7ish. My 18month old is all about it now that we have been going regularly and I expect to spend a lot of time here in the coming years
Whimsical is the right word for this place. Its all outdoors, no AC, the kids had a good enough time but we only stayed for about a half hour. We went on the discount day so it didnt cost as much.
Highly recommend. Excellent place for young children
Our 7 year old granddaughter is visiting from Kentucky and we wanted to entertain her with something that doesnt involve computer/phone screens and structured activities. She and our 11 year old friend were dubious and reluctant about the Childrens Garden until we arrived. Everyone LOVED it! Its wonderful to have a place where children can play by using THEIR imagination. This is a real gem!
Great place to take your kids and let them go crazy. Very kind staff. Valuable memberships plus events. Could use some general upkeep but otherwise great
Great place to visit for kids of all ages. Well definitely be back.
A little wonderland for kids. In the spirit of giving, this magical garden will capture your little ones imagination.
Very cute place to take a young child for an afternoon of fun.
Our toddler had a blast. Very cool place.
Such a wonderful place! We love bringing our children here. They have the best activities for kids, its peaceful, and pure fun! Ms.Robin and her helpers are great. We will be renewing our membership!
Great place to take the kids, well worth the money!
Really cool and unique experience. Kids will have fun. Mosquitos are terrible though, so bring some spray.
A fun place for kids 2-8 with lots of small places to crawl through and hide. A favorite for us in Sarasota!
One of my favorite places Ive taken my children to play. Highly recommended
Staff was very friendly and the place was very cool. Wish it was a little bigger as we played hide and go seek and hiding was limited.
A lovely place to spend the day with the kids! Lots to do. Have a picnic, pretend, play, dress up like a pirate or fairy! Lovely!!
Really cool place for kids. We were here for a birthday party. I will definitely bring my daughter back.
Amazing. Almost impossible to describe. Its truly like the mind of a child. The first place to visit is the costume room where the kids can put on any outfit they could think of. After that its just amazing. Bamboo forest, pirate ship, tunnels, things to climb, a house filled with books. Its really amazing what they have done with a relatively small plot of land. If you have kids you need to take them here.
Wonderful!!Its well worth the cost!!
Our granddaughter loved it! She wore her own fairy costume but they have a room full of costumes the kids can borrow! Took us 2 hours to see it all!
Lived in the California Bay area a number of years. The Sarasota Childrens Garden is a pleasantly surprising slice of what my family and I loved about that experience- its eclectic, fun, flavorful, layered, with the perfect balance of art and whimsy, of exercise and entertainment. Highly recommended for a creative, inspiring family outing. Perfect for a parent who wants to bring a book and let their childs imagination (and energetic feet) soar.
Thos is the coolest garden around. I really enjoyed the environment
This is a good place just too see it
This is a amazing place and the kids had a lot of fun
Drove here to take our 2 yr old while we were vacationing at anna maria. It was in the middle of the ghetto and all we could see was junk from the outside. We passed and went back to the beach instead.
Perfect place for kids to enjoy the outdoors. Very relaxing and safe, highly recommended.
Super cute and great for kids birthday parties
Absolutely adorable place for 4-8 year olds
My son had a blast playing in the garden, the misters were nice escape from the heat.
There is no better place in Sarasota to take your children to have a great, outdoor playtime adventure. We absolutely love it here!!
Nice garden...but full of mosquitoes. Be sure to bring bug spray.
The place is situated in a very run down area so be sure to lock the doors. The price should be $5 at most per person, $10 for an adult to just follow your child around is very high. The upkeep is very bad, most of the areas are overgrown. The tee pee is made up of sharp pieces of pottery and sharp shells that a kid could get cut on. The extra money that you have to pay for crafts should be included in the price due to current value not received from parents tickets. The gift shop here is very nice though.
A little piece of heaven for children. So beautiful.
The pictures online made it look more exciting than it was. The kids had fun playing, but I could have taken them to a park and done the same for free.
